  1. Past hour
  2. Fun... hmm, worryingly so! Positives: We have played well against Ipswich in recent matches. We somehow pull out a result when least expected. At this rate there is a chance I could find myself (or any other random fan) asked to play upfront. Ipswich hate Norwich, so should give us an easy ride. Reality: Ipswich are in good form. Ipswich have a striker. Ipswich don't have our likely starting XI. Whilst Ipswich hate Norwich they won't be giving us an easy ride. Tronstad and Gudjohnsen won't be both starting. Somehow dig out a 0-0, but expect a thumping.
  3. I wouldn’t believe Nixon if he told me the sky was blue, but us signing someone who isn’t even fit is so us. Cue the presser: ‘x will be fit in March to help our cause.’
  4. Remember when we were on tenterhooks on this thread. Quite apt really that this process is a total farce.
  5. Antonio would take the piss in this league.
  6. Back in the day somebody could have come on here and said they’d heard Roy Keane was signing after the weekend. Just because it didn’t happen doesn’t mean they were wrong. We all now know how close we were to signing Keane.
  7. Be someone out of contract, Ryan Kent, Antonio or Dennis
  8. Not fit.... typical doing it on the cheap yet again... By the way is Mercers strike rate any worse than Nixons ? And he doesn't do it for a living although his betting tips do need some work 🙂
  9. 1.15 euro, makes it about 1 mill GBP?
  10. I remember seeing a young lad called Dennis Rofe playing left back for Orient at Rochdale in the old third division. This would be about 1970. Rochdale had a really good right winger at the time, City were supposed to be signing him but it never happened. Rofe completely bottled the winger up, and then near the end he fan the length of the field to lay on the winning goal. I thought this lad looks a real prospect. So I wrote to the club scout. I got a letter back thanking me but saying that “ Rofe was already under contract to Orient “. Well I knew that. 2 years later Orient sold him to Leicester for what was then a record fee for a British full back ! He went on to have a long career at Leicester, Southampton and Chelsea.
  11. Or the courtroom floods and it hast to be replayed
  12. I read the other day Dennis is training with Brondby
  13. "striker through the door, ready to announce" "Heard similar, but nothing concrete" So he's heard similar information that there's a player ready to announce, but there's nothing concrete? Dissonance at its finest, fud.
  14. main name not fit Its Dennis again isn't it? 😞
  15. Brilliant, an unfit striker! We've already got one of those
  16. looking at signing another injured player?
  17. The Beatles - A’int She Sweet
  18. Me and my girlfriend of the time are in that photograph towards the back and in the centre. I’ve seen a better, clearer photo and I can pick us out. It was a top class performance on a really tricky pitch was beginning to become frozen after half time. Our future manager Gordon Lee was playing at left back for Villa and Mike Ferguson ran him ragged in a 5-1 win. January 2nd 1965. Crowd 18,292 Rovers Else Newton, Joyce Clayton, England, McGrath Ferguson, McEvoy, Byrom, Douglas, Harrison Scorers Byrom 3, McEvoy 2.
  19. I wasn't aiming at anyone in particular.
  20. Today
  21. Mercer's information he posts on here rarely checks out, but I do remember back in the summer when he said that two players were about to sign before anyone else had got hold of it and his contact did have that correct to be fair, one was the initial attempt to sign Baradji before the medical put pay to it, can't remember who the other was that we signed at the same time. Also said that Brittain's new contract was done too though! So who knows, maybe we'll unveil Paul Mullin later tonight.
