  1. Past hour
  2. Agreed, I think he has to do a full season injury free for someone to pay big money for him.
  3. This is uncharacteristically churlish of me, but I wouldn't sell to Derby. If it comes down to a few hundred thousand I'd rather take a bit less money and sell him to Boro, frankly. They've nicked our manager, nicked two of our out of contract lads, have been sniffing around Travis, linked to Dolan and now want Brittain. If I was Rovers I think I'd try to make it known that he's available for £3m, unless Derby phone, then he's available for £4m.
  4. Is it impossible to say? I genuinely can't think of anything they've done right in 15 years.
  5. I must admit that I think all three kits that they have done so far have been excellent. Love this new one with familiar images of the town on it.
  6. Wharton is a fantastic example... a generational talent who's already played for England and is recognised as one of the best young players in the PL. But why didn't you use the examples of Jake Garrett, Adam Henley, Jake Kean, Jack Vale, Dan Butterworth, Tyler Magloire, Willem Tomlinson etc? There's no doubt the academy has served us well, and the players that are good enough will break through (lots of examples of this). What we cannot afford is an over-reliance on players that have in no way proven their capability in senior football. The success stories in recent years have invariably spent time out on loan or have been eased in to senior football. Lenihan, Carter, Wharton, Travis, Buckley, Nyambe. None of these were thrown in at the deep end. They were nurtured either by going out on loan to lower leagues or were given sporadic opportunities until they were seen to be ready. There is a balance to be had, and if you tip the balance too far in favour of youngsters, you're going to get your fingers burnt.
  7. It's different As a non football Shirt wearing individual that is all I can say about it really.
  8. THis post about the Brittain transfer stalling and right before Journo saying Boro could be willing to pay 2.5m while we want 3m. This reeks of lowballing. Hopefully Eustace tries to get Brittain as well.
  9. A steady Eddie is just what is needed next to Hyam he plays so much better with a calm presence next to him.
  10. 500k for an experienced championship centre half who, in Hull's fans words, was one of their stand out performers last season looks like very good business. Proven at this level, albeit a steady eddie type. I don't think Hull would be selling him for that kind of price if they weren't in the predicament that they're in.
  11. Good shout. Think that's spot on and will likely be the approach. In fact, getting Sanderson back may not be a bad idea given we need championship experience and leadership to balance up the 'riskier' signings we've made so far.
  12. It'll still go through. He want's to leave, he won't sign a new deal, we are "learning" from past mistakes (apparently) As expected, we'll just end up accepting a deal that see's him leave for a fraction of his value.
  13. Good. Get him training on Witton Park on his own to give him time to reflect on his actions.
  14. No idea if he'll be an adequate replacement for Batth or not - I suspect not in the short term - but I agree it looks like a sensible signing. Hull fans seem to be on the fence about whether selling him is a good idea or not, but they all seem to think that we've got the better end of the deal if the £500k is right.
  15. There's no way anyone is paying £100m for Adam Wharton this summer.
  16. That Miller from Hibs would be ideal, can slot in at RB and CB. I don't think we will get him unfortunately as we won't pay the fee, could maybe see another Dion Sanderson type signing on loan later in the window that could perform both roles if needs be.
  17. and Venkys couldn’t get rid of him soon enough😏
  18. McLoughlin is a sensible signing. Brings championship experience, leadership, and is a reliable figure at the back. A good replacement for Batth. We still need one more centre back though with two injury prone ones in Carter and Wharton. We will need a new right back and I think we'll get one in on loan at the end of the window. Don't think Ryan will be good enough to start regularly but is a good, pacy option off the bench. Montgomery, however, is someone who I think can be a regular starter in a year or so time, so it makes sense to bring in an experienced loan for a year.
  19. I agree. Just bare individual stats don’t always tell a proper story in a team game. If you’re a full back and your winger isn’t pulling his weight defensively you may get beaten from time to time.
  20. 3 really nice kits this season…. Add in the pink from last season and I think Macron are doing good kits.
  21. So they've gone for iconic Blackburn landmarks (which deserves praise as the town's been hellbent on obliterating most of them for the past 60 years) and omitted the wonderful Conservatory in Corporation Park? I would have thought a once tall, proud and handsome symbol of the town now lying in rack and ruin just pleading for someone to end its misery after years if vandalism and neglect would fit Rovers quite well...
  22. I feel sorry for the lad. The last time I had cramp it only lasted a couple minutes. He must have a chronic case.
  23. My error. Even more laughable. £22M with add-ons.
  24. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25321923.blackburn-rovers-reignite-transfer-interest-fill-hole/ Rovers are on the lookout for a left-sided centre-back all summer. They were unable to land Steve Kapuadi from Legia Warsaw and have now turned their attentions to McLoughlin.
  25. It’s certainly more of an irrelevance for centre backs. Them and goalkeepers tend to go on the longest.
