There seems to be a phantom £20m required in excess of the funds we receive from the gate receipts, TV money and corporate funds generated. When I met up with Waggott back in November 2023 he stated it was £40m needed and the spit was £20m generated and £20m from the owners. So far as I know, this figure is still ball park, but reduced by the amount generated from sales and the name of the game for Pasha and his mates, seems to be to bring this down to as close to 0 as possible.

I'm not sure these deals are always done with the player's contract already settled and obliged to kick in at the buying club's will. I'm sure I've heard about players in these sorts of arrangements deciding not to go.

I see your point and believe that many fans also would see it the same way. However, if we had targeted that game, not only would tickets from the abandoned game be valid, they would no doubt heavily discount prices out of spite. We needed time and no date was set for this game at time of open letter.

Normally I would agree but our squad is in absolute pieces. I'd play the few first team players who have not had much game time - Toth, Montgomery, TGH, Pickering, Riberio, De Neve. What's amusing is half of them are left backs, which is also Powell's role.... so we can probably only play one out of Powell, Pickering, Riberio, De Neve? I guess we could line up something like : Toth O'Riordan Atcheson Pratt ????? TGH Montgomery Powell Henrickson Joseph Higgins Could implode, might surprise us. I suspect though Ismael won't go for this sort of thing, and will keep flogging Ohashi, Cantwell, McLoughlin which tbh is a perfectly reasonable thing to do as it's madness to send out the kids. But then again it's madness to take risks on more injuries to our few remaining experienced players.

Completely agree, if anyone else is interested we have no chance. If somehow we stumbled on a decent top half league one player that nobody else wanted though, if we offered him more cash than he was currently being paid, I believe they would be here like a shot. Guaranteed half a season playing at a higher level on more money, then if you do well you can be sold again in the summer, or you stay playing at the level you were playing at anyway on a better wage.

There were some 'ideas' put in circulation that Gestede was the good guy and Eustace the bad and ungrateful one, and I seem to remember that the triumvirate behind them was Nixon, Unleaded, and the mysterious X account of BrfcPrivy (and to be precise, the latter only indicating that Gestede is a good guy). And just to be clear, I do not mean to indicate that they represent any Holy Trinity-constellation.

But like i say, we need a player from the top half of L1 - Would they want to fight relegation and if we want them i'm sure a club in the championship who can offer more will want them too. Hence why we need to look further afield imo.

Interesting. So last season on average 1 in 5 didn't attend who had bought tickets (or 20%). However for league midweek games outside of the Christmas period this number is 30% For Saturday games this number is 18.5%. The highest figure for a Saturday game is 24.3% I suspect a large portion of this are kids who have been bought a season ticket (or even match ticket) because they are so cheap, therefore it's easy to "waste".

Money talks. If we can offer better wages than a players current club in league one(probably doubtful with some these days though) then they would be here like a shot.

I think this is quite relevant still. we need to unearth something - we have zero chance of getting anyone decent from the UK we need goalscoring talent and fast - these players are in form and can score goals. Take a punt, show some creativity.

If he continues to impress then he will sign for Rovers (for the contractually agreed fee at the contractually agreed wage & terms). He will then immediately by sold on at profit 2 lots of signing on fees, lots of money for middle men etc Nobody benefits from him not signing. The real question is, if he rips up trees between now and the end of the season, will he be with us for a matter of days, or just hours, before he ends up elsewhere

Same clubs would win the FA Cup either way. How many different winners outside of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man Utd & Man City have won it in the past 35 years? 3 maybe?

If we went down I imagine he would be off elsewhere anyway. Would be nice to get him permanent in this window but I don't see it happening.

That seems to have been pinched from here, but it would make sense. My gut feeling is people will make more money from him being elsewhere, so he will end up elsewhere.

At the moment you have about 40+ teams playing a rotated team whereas a post season tournament could mean more teams would be willing to give it a go. Doesn't really matter though because it doesn't exist 🙂
