  1. Past hour
  2. You'd be fumin' if you were that Charles lass - she looked alright when she came on.
  3. Well well Luke did it after 5 nil down again. Amazing player
  4. Haven't we already discussed this yesterday about these issues? You have seen Ismael's comments and what Jackson has reported. Its appears 2/3 more and in those positions reported by Jackson and Nicko. Maybe Ismael wants Leonard as his third choice or equally after the first couple they changed their mind and sign another striker. Or Maybe the player they wanted for the attacking right side can play up front. We will sign in 5 weeks time RF99
  5. Didn't Eamonn Rogers (sp) also have a career ender shortly after joining us. Never saw him olay but heard he was good. Have we somehow gotten away from the transfer thread. Bet there's a few of us tearry eyed with some of those memories. I truly loved Blackburn Rovers. Might still, dunno, easier from afar perhaps. Never.missed home games and only a few away but now if I was still present I can't say I would still go.
  6. There were at least 3 very poor pens. I was talking my Mrs through why they were poor and her answer was "so you need at least one of power and accuracy? So why did they do that?" I know pressure plays a part but if you're not confident of hitting the corner you have to give it the Pearce/Bronze.
  7. For me 3 is enough. Of course it depends a bit what these 3 signings are.
  8. Maybe move the penalty spot closer for the women because they just don't have the same kicking power as the men
  9. I felt sorry for that Bommatti. Best player out there for me. I would have put my house on her scoring the pen but that was a tame effort. Too many side footed at a very saveable height. They’ll need to learn to put the laces through it.
  10. @MarkBRFC has made a really important point a few times. Have we really improved our starting 11 this summer? And are we likely to? Seems unlikely at this stage. Dont get me wrong, lack of depth has been a consistent issue that has caused us problems. We did need another player to (hopefully) really push and provide good competition in midfield. We did need cover at right back. And we did need a left footed centre back to add to the squad. But if we are only signing 2 or 3 more, that doesnt fill me with any confidence that we will have the required depth either.
  11. We have plenty of championship experience in this squad Who says Brittain is about to leave? no bids for the last 2 weeks? Yes you said the same last season about chances yet you still don't learned from your mistakes
  12. Was it a striker that you wanted instead of a central midfielder? And do you fear that we will be left short in attack assuming we dont get one, based on those comments. If your proposed scenario happens then that would be very, very disappointing. We didnt score enough goals last season, and its certainly not just me that felt that our attack was in most need of work. Ismael has referenced what we need to do in the final third numerous times, Gestede also touched on it. And we have also lost Dolan and Weimann. IF we only brought in a right winger and De Neve, who seems a grafter but has played much of his football as a left back and doesnt appear to be a difference maker. That would not come close to sufficing in my opinion. We have a solid base of a team without enough to really worry teams in the final third.
  13. They didn't see to many wrist spinners in world cricket I tried to become a wrist spinner 25 years ago but the lack of coaching and people telling to drop it and just become a medium pacer bowler. Shane Warne was a great cricketer and a legend. One of my favourite ever cricketer along with Sachin Tendulkar, James Anderson, Darren Gough and Alec Stewart
  14. The Spaniards I know aren’t particularly nationalistic. The pueblo or village comes first, then the regions. With our neighbours it’s Ugijar, Granada, Andalusia, then Spain last in thar order. Insult their village and you’re in big trouble ! Spain you can criticise. Living between Almeria and Granada they have no team of their own but they all either support Real or Barca. There are both club house’s in the village that have the games on but I haven’t been invited yet. Only one or two support Almeria, Granada or Malaga.
  15. They really do, the entire starting midfield were brought up through Rovers ladies. This result will be the very last thing Pasha needed, no doubt the spotlight will once more be shone on Blackburn Rovers, it would seem to be the only club in the developed world not prepared to invest a few quid to cash in on the development of the women’s game. Unbelievable, most especially given the head start the club had as one of the pioneers of ladies football. Shame on Pasha, shame on Venkys.
  16. I've no interest in women's football generally but this is England ffs
  17. They have done more than we have then!!! Our only signing with Championship experience is a bang average McLaughin and certainly non of our signings are world beaters! With Brittain about to leave (and Travis to follow) and the paucity of our recruitment, it will be Rovers fighting relegation.
  18. I think the captain had a good tournament. I also thought Lucy Bronze was a bit off the pace, then she tells the interviewer she was playing with a fractured Tibia !
  19. provided we don't eff up from aug to jan. then it's gonna be relegation scrap
  20. I see Dickson Etuhu’s son Zaccai is no longer with us and at Blackpool
  21. It would be nice to see him in some of our classics if he were to ever again qualify for the Majors(The Open, Masters, US Open & PGA Championship).
  22. given that there is 5 weeks of the window and we want another 2/3 signings from Ismael has said to Jackson before they left Spain. I think we will bring one more signing in before the WBA game. we need to sort this Moussa Baradji deal and whether we are going to sign him or not Bring in a centre back attacking right sided midfielder
  23. My tournament favourite (for England) is Kiera Walsh. She flies under the radar. She seems to have an extra spark from time to time which leads to an unexpected danger for the opposition.
  24. We don’t seem to develop wrist spinners these days Chaddy. To be honest we didn’t develop many in the past. Off the top of my head I can only think of a few. One who played for Lancashire and England learnt his early cricket on the common I live facing - Tommy Greenhough. The old guys on here will remember him. It’s a difficult art to master. I tried as I kid and managed to get the leg break going sort of ok. Just for fun, I’d stick to what I knew in real games. Funny thing - when I leant to bowl the googly I lost the ability to bowl the leg break. Shane Warne was a freak. Probably the best spin bowler of all time. His level of accuracy was amazing for a wrist spinner.
