Your correct in that he couldn’t get a team which was in the bottom 3 to suddenly go on a run of form which over the course of a season would have been good enough to have earned a play off spot most seasons. By that measure he failed. But that’s a massively unfair bar to set unless you have an agenda against somebody. The problem is Mowbray started making strange decisions and saying stupid things in the last few years he was here. I wanted him gone at the end as much as anyone. But I can also acknowledge he did a good job in those first 18 months he was here.

Memo to Rudy - -
I would say that 3pts with 15 games to play leaves a fighting chance of survival. Mowbray just isn't a firefighter manager.
-
I know he failed, we went down, but the damage was already done, otherwise we'd have finished 8th.

There are wiser heads than my good self on this forum but if we truly want to have money to spend on a player in this window then take the million now. Bird in the hand. We are not playing Tyjon which in itself is daft as he has been on the bench. We have a burning platform. A sell on clause when we are mid table third division won’t be much use. Plus with our legendary last day management of deals if we haven’t concluded anything today then we are probably shagged. -
We were 3pts from safety with 15 games remaining when Mowbray took over. His job was to keep us up. He failed.

He was well thought of and did a good job at Shelbourne by winning them their first title for a few years. No one around these days has experience in dragging a club up from free fall? Mowbray tried and failed with us and has been pretty pants in jobs he’s had since. -

200 grand and he gets a better contract than if they are shelling out a million or so. -

Why are people saying daft things like Damien Duff etc ? What credentials does he have to save a championship club in freefall ? Naff all except he played here over 2 decades ago then turned into a little turd when he left, honestly i'd drive Mowbray here before i'd be daft enough to give it to Duff or someone like that. The proof is in the pudding it needs a Eustace or near as damn it. -

Comparisons to the 1995 winning era are facile and only show that Mowbray was part of the system at that point, dumbing down expectations to feather his own nest. -

The only thing that I can think is that the £1M doesn't involve any sell on, and the compensation payment tends to include something along the lines of 15% of profit on next sale. If that was the case, they would then be banking on Arsenal selling him at some point in the future for at least £7M, for us to be making the same money on him -

We'll take our chances as we are thanks. Although there are elements stupid enough in this fanbase to snatch your hand off at that. This lot should never give anymore anything more than 18 months with a year rolling option. -

Tinfoil och cynical head on: at present Pasha/Gestede are on course to hit their targets for this "year" (accounting). A much lesser amount for Tyjon that appears on the next accounting year might be tempting for the idiots considering we are in free fall and the revenue drop will be substantial in league 1 The only flaw in my reasoning is that it requires the idiots to have 2 brain cells but self preservation has proven to be Pashas strong suit. Fuck the club but protect himself - wouldn't be the first time -

If we're going down and don't care about the future, we might as well rehire Coyle or Steve Voldercunt. Go hard or go home. -

I don't really want any ex player until they've cut their teeth at a level where I'd be happy to take them on even if they weren't an ex player. The sentiment is virtually meaningless to me, I want results. -
He surged us to a lower position than where he found us. The statement was technically correct as we ended the season in very good form the last 5 games or whatever, but he'd already bombed us down to midtable after taking over whilst we were in the playoffs. So whilst technically correct it gives a veneer of achievement to Ismael that he didn't warrant. But absolutely Venkys out. In fact it's another reason to think so, they alienated our capable manager and replaced him with a dimwit during a promotion challenge. Now he is about to relegate us.

We want nobody near this club who could potentially be a manager of the future, once the circus has left town. The club right now is setup to fail, at every level, why on earth would we want Duff, Dunn or Savage involved in the current climate? Henning Berg was a fantastic player for this club, a Premiership winner and he's soiled his copy book with some for his brief time here, but elevated his stature in our house by taking the rats to the high court, but you get what I mean I'm sure. These owners are poison and don't represent the Blackburn Rovers that we all know and love in any way. VENKYS OUT - NOTHING ELSE MATTERS. -

This is something people need to come to the realisation of... It's not "we" it's "they" These people are not business people (the owners), they didn't build their wealth, they're fucking morons, who've employed fucking morons, and honestly hardly ever think about the club, it's just a negative "asset" on their balance sheet. It's a case of more money than sense and fuck all interest doing what's morally correct with a historic football club, meaning either running it properly or selling up. I no longer look at these types of decisions as "we" as it's not us that have fucked this club up with shit decision after decision... It's them, it's their fault. -

Well that sure doesn't make any sense. Nobody is paying 2 million for an inexperienced kid who will cost a few hundred grand in 6 months. It's not like he's going into Arsenal's first team and helping their title charge, they've zero reason to rush other than beating other suitors. Which they'll probably be able to do anyway. And if they can't, they probably won't care all that much, not to the tune of 2 mill. As for us, we aren't using him at all, so we are just throwing money down the drain. 1 mill is plenty fair at this juncture and if they've bid that it should be accepted (or at least just slightly renegotiate based on structure, sell on etc) -

No. As you say, they have tried to cover the ref by pretending he had given it for shirt pulling. In that instance, the call they have made is correct. But that’s not why he gave it. Incidentally, I think they scored from the free kick as well.
