Rainmaker Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 i dont think he'll be the last forward in either, but cant say anymore at the moment. Which, if true, will mean one striker to exit. I can't see us buying 3 strikers in addition to the ones we already have.

Saf Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 i dont think he'll be the last forward in either, but cant say anymore at the moment. i dont mean we'll be signing another forward today. you mean after santa becomes a rovers well still be loking for another striker.
pleasure Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Which, if true, will mean one striker to exit. I can't see us buying 3 strikers in addition to the ones we already have. it depends if a couple of things happen or not.
Antgrad Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 How about a bit of credit for nicko? He did tell us about this back on 5th July! Nice one nicko!
LeftWinger Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 it depends if a couple of things happen or not. Thats one of the most vague statements I've ever heard lol. Don't go and ruin it now you've got one right
nicko Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 I think there may be some cause for celebration shortly. Looks like Santa Cruz is coming to town. Would the guy who worked it out from the clues two weeks ago please take a bow. No cash prize, mind you.

pleasure Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Thats one of the most vague statements I've ever heard lol. Don't go and ruin it now you've got one right meaning, 1 and possibly 2 forwards may be leaving, before the end of the window. i hope they dont, though.
Mark Atkins' Bald Patch Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Thats one of the most vague statements I've ever heard lol. Don't go and ruin it now you've got one right 27/07/2007 Pleasure: "We may or may not be signing another striker before the window shuts." 01/09/2007 - WOW Pleasure ... you were right all along! Only jesting Pleasure ... top marks on the Santa Cruz story Or do you send the official texts out?
Dan Furness Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 I think he is correct though. Whats the point bringing in players that wont better what we have. Fulham are a classic case of this. Not wrong side of the bed, just some of the 'suicidal' people and their comments on here really start to bug after a couple of weeks. Let the man do his job, just because were not spending money on average players at silly prices does not mean we are any weaker than any other teams.
Rover 'til I die Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 meaning, 1 and possibly 2 forwards may be leaving, before the end of the window. Jeffers is one.....
pleasure Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Jeffers is one..... i wasnt counting 'mr potato' as one of the 2, sadly.
Anti Euro Smiths Fan Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Re: Alan Smith.... Him arriving for 8 million squid would not get my pulse racing at all. When he was at Leeds, Smith seemed to get Gary Kelly's pulse racing.... Call me old-fashioned, but isn't this type of goal celebration going just a tad too far ? I mean, a full kiss on the lips with the eyes closed. Whatever next, players dropping their shorts in front of each other and saying "Come on big boy, give me a good seeing to in the showers afterwards." Previous scoops from Nicko... Souness off to West Ham, says Nicko. Souness to buy Wolves, says Nicko. Souness to Southampton, says Nicko Meat Loaf had a hit with "Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad" - I hear that Nicko will be releasing a special cover version "Zero out of Three Ain't Bad". Coming up next from Nicko - "Souness meets Elvis Presley in a chip shop", "Souness flies to the moon with Lord Lucan" and the world exclusive: "Souness to ride Red Rum at the National". If Nicko can get himself a bit of freelance work with the Sunday Sport, I'm sure they'd love him....
nicko Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Does someone want to send the LET a dictionary to help them with the word 'exclusive' and its meaning?
RoyRover Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 "Jeffers is one....." We can but hope! Personally, I'm excited by the prospect of Santa Cruz signing for us. He could well turn out to be another great signing by Hughes. He's a big name player which adds to his appeal. I know that I'd rather have him than James Beattie. A striking partnership of McCarthy and Santa Cruz is certainly very exciting.
nicko Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Souey bid for Wolves. Souey met Southampton and was talking to them about a buy-out. And Souey was approached by West Ham when they had a wobble. Check your facts. Perhaps you might also want to mention Souey to be Blackburn boss. Or any others. I would go back myself and do the same. But I am too busy getting stories. And who told you about the Sunday Sport? Got to get one right...
Anti Euro Smiths Fan Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Check your facts. I was just being a touch facetious. I'm sorry if it came across as if I was having a pop. Please carry on posting - and I'll put my claws away.
USABlue Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 did nelsen, samba, mccarthy, mgp, bentley, friedel, warnock... all show a lack of ambition? i'd rather buy a squad player and let derbyshire play more. At the time we signed those players I think there was plenty of moaning, not good enough, comments for each and everyone of them on here. Certainley Brad and the Admiral were written off by most before they had even kicked(or held) a ball in anger. McCarthy was slated as a poor second becaused we could not land our first choice Mido (there is a god). Warnock we had plenty of "can't even get a regular game for the Scousers". MGP was very suspect having played for Tromso and Bentley was a dodgy Arsenal cast off. I think the lack of ambition was ours, the fans.
neophox Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 If Santa's arrive today I expect Gally and Franny to leave as they are not good enough for the start eleven!
Flopsy Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Nicko, its just because all his posts are links/taken from news sites that he gets upset when they turn out wrong. I havent forgiven the People for running a story about Lee Carsley might be moving to Coventry from Blackburn, about 18 months after he'd left Rovers to go to Coventry.
krislu Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 If Santa Cruz does sign I expect Roberts (hope not) to leave along with Jeffers. As long as Santa aint replacing McCarthy then I have no complaints. Forward line of McCarthy, Santa Cruz, Roberts, Derbyshire and Regters looks very good in my opinion. Now we only need a quality central midfield player and things are looking good.
unleaded Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Benni being linked to Turkish giants Galatasarey.....................anything in it Nicko? Rovers are also linked to Eddie Johnson(USA),The Rams also want him............................... Lots more trialists arrive at Brockhall, these are on top of the 2 who arrived earlier this week......
