Stuart Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 I would say this has actually been a pretty good weekend even though the Rovers game was called off. If we can win our game in hand we will be up to 17th. That would be above Spurs, close to Man City (depending on results vs Pompey) and just 6 points behind Hull in 8th who are beginning to struggle. Geovanni carried that team but now he has disappeared. They may already have enough points to suggest they will survive but I can see them dropping a fair few places down the league yet. With the right signings, Sam can get us up several places higher yet so lets just hope we put a run together and rack up the points in the next few games where we have a good chance. A lot has to happen between now and the rearranged fixture. Our game in hand won't come into play until then. City and Tottenham could be well away by the time that happens. Hopefully we'll have worked our way upwards before then and the game in hand will push us into the European places. I can dream can't I?
Backroom Tom Posted January 11, 2009 Backroom Posted January 11, 2009 Chelsea were anything but poor- it was a fabulously entertaining game in which the Manc scum were terrifyingly good. I honestly think you watched a different game to the one I did, I didn't see one iota of creativitey from Chelsea. Drogba made Roberts look like Shearer.
Backroom DE. Posted January 11, 2009 Backroom Posted January 11, 2009 Chelsea looked blunt, just like they have all season. Can't see them challenging, I'm afraid. It'll be Utd again. Now Hull have hit a rough patch they'll struggle to recover, and will be fighting for survival come the end of the season. A win against Fulham would be HUGE for us.
gumboots Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 I have strong doubts that Scolari will do anything with Chelsea based on his recent decisions and performances, I´m not sure what his English is like but I will never understand how a team can appoint a manager who isnt completely fluent. Well Dalgleish wasn't and he managed to win the league with 2 different teams.
PAFELL Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Chelsea were anything but poor- it was a fabulously entertaining game in which the Manc scum were terrifyingly good. Rooney should have been booked the way he responded to the ref. If any Rovers player had behaved like that the player would be booked. Chelsea were only good for about the first 20 minutes, then they were made to look - not bad - just ordinary. Fiesty first half.
alexanders Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Jermaine Jenas has been stripped of the Spurs vice-captaincy A player I would love at Ewood Park.
thenodrog Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Jermaine Jenas has been stripped of the Spurs vice-captaincy A player I would love at Ewood Park. A talent but with no desire and no fire in his belly. Oh and as such way overpaid.
DeadlyDirk Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Jermaine Jenas has been stripped of the Spurs vice-captaincy A player I would love at Ewood Park. I can't stand the guy, over rated in my opinion. He's probably better than what we've got but not by much. I've always liked Huddlestone but years keep going by and he still doesn't seem to be coming on much... interesting one though. Who did they give it to? Bentley?
JAL Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Jermaine Jenas has been stripped of the Spurs vice-captaincy A player I would love at Ewood Park. A proven premiership player just wonder why hes fallen from grace all of a sudden.
alexanders Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 A proven premiership player just wonder why hes fallen from grace all of a sudden. One word; Spurs.
yellowsubmarine Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 A proven premiership player just wonder why hes fallen from grace all of a sudden. He went to Spuds.
Billy Castell Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Jermaine Jenas has been stripped of the Spurs vice-captaincy A player I would love at Ewood Park. Overpriced, over rated and mediocre. Runs around a bit, but no end product at all. I have no idea how this spineless player gets into the England squad let alone win a few caps.
ffan Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Roman Bednar to Spuds? http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,116...?20090112165814

philipl Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Busy day for the Man City fax machine yesterday. If the various press reports are correct, bids were sent out for Podolski, Veloso, Arteta, Bellamy and Given and rejections came back for all of them. Hope they can afford the ink cartridges.
RibbleValleyRover Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Surely there is no chance this will happen: City launch Kaka Swoop Hmm, Milan or Citeh? its such a hard choice...
philipl Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Surely there is no chance this will happen: City launch Kaka Swoop Hmm, Milan or Citeh? its such a hard choice... Well if Cook and Aldridge are in Milan, there's a certain devilment in JW's PA looking all round Ewood for him when they try to phone through with the next RSC bid tomorrow. Kaka will be quite an attraction when City go for their Championship game at MK Dons next season.

Such a rich club would surely use a top of the line colour laser fax, or if the have a eye for the quid, then they would use their PC as a fax machine so they can delete all the junk emails.
BuckyRover Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 I would love it if Man City don't manage to sign anybody. Ordinarily I would prefer Spurs/Newcastle to get relegated (as I have seen it happen to City before), but this year I think I would prefer it to be City. It would be fantastic! We can dream
Majiball Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Kaka will be quite an attraction when City go for their Championship game at MK Dons next season. Kaka turning up at Loftus Road or Smurf Moor now that would be funny.
Bobby G Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Guillem Balague says Ronaldo has verbally agreed to join Calderon's Real Madrid this coming summer. Transfer fee between 85 million Euros and 115 million Euros including add-ons and clauses and he will get 12 million Euros a year. He says Ronaldo will request a transfer to make it happen.

Ariston and on and on and on, Ariston and on and on and on. Will it ever end. Didn't Ronaldo/Real say similar this summer before bottling it after talking to Ferguson. Absolutely hilarious given he said he was there for the foreseeable a couple of weeks ago.
Majiball Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Just seen this: Martins will consider any offers! Probably well out of our price range but would be a top signing.
