As a neutral, just over 3m still seems a bit cheeky/insulting for someone of Warnock's ability. Think hes looked a good player since his move.

Friedel thing will just be glad when it's over, knew it would drag as soon as I saw Spurs were involved in some indirect form...it's the same as Barry/Liverpool, you always know which couple of clubs make things drag.

Shocked at Fulham, how many strikers they already have on their books before putting in that kind of money for someone who is definitely not worth it in my opinion.

As for Cruz, at the risk of repeating myself. The line should be 'he's not for sale!'...

Edit: Have you got any names for RB and RM for us yet Nicko? Ones that you haven't mentioned yet anyway?

Stop it Roy, these boys are woth about £5m-£7m between them, with atleast 80% of that being Johnson.

WARNOCK - First the bad news...Newcastle have been back in...think the offer is now just over £3 million...it's a bit worrying because they won't go away...surprised this one is ongoing.

FRIEDEL/ROBINSON - Villa have been in [again] and I think it is just about the right figure...now it's up to agreeing a fee for Robinson...sounds a bit like a cracked record.

ANDY JOHNSON - Fulham have come in at an astonishing £10.75 million which is why he pulled out of the Everton game tonight...that is more than Wigan are willing to pay...so I think he will move....relevance to Rovers...none that I can see.

MAN CITY - Cisse is the name I am hearing that they are after...Marseille have told him he can go but only if he finds a club quickly...but the Roque thing will no doubt rear its head...Rovers have to stop that from happening - and surely can.

Thanks nicko, at least the LT will now have something to print tomorrow!

Re Warnock: personally I would have thought any bid would have to be around the 8m mark before we even think twice about turning it down.

Niko i'm getting the feeling some of the players are disappointed with the Ince appointment, am i far from the mark?? some of your news just doesn't make sense, Obviously Bents was pretty much a dead cert to leave whoever we appointed but Freidel just doesn't make sense, and i'm thinking Warnocks agent must be making 'come get me' noises to the Geordies?? look at the poll he's far from what the fans wanted is that the same for the players?

I think its pretty obvious for all to see that Newcastle are either:

A) Very thick and don't know how to value a player

B) Are putting in low bids they know will be rejected to unsettle Warnock and see if he comes out in the media to say he's interested

C) They are testing the water to see if any other teams are interested. Much like a starting bid you might place on Ebay to see how many people are watching...

D) They are collectively with several other teams trying to unsettle our entire squad for the new season, as they see us as direct competition to them! (not conspiracy it happens most seasons to many teams now!)

Woe is me!!

Warnock has said he is happy at the club. Newcastle are just trying to unsettle him in the hope he acts up like Bentley meaning we have to sell. Its a technique often used which im sure Warnock won't fall for!

I know it's not the norm for the club, but I think it is time for JW to make a statement.

Not is normal Mr nice guy. A big ★★★★ ★★★ in no uncertain terms.

Nicko - any idea on the brad bid - is it £3m? or more? Is it official that they have made a bid?

With Warnock do you think its a case his agent maybe being in touch with them due to him being unhappy that Hughes left and they are simply testing the club?

Maybe their persistence is due to Warnock letting Newcastle know he is interested.
