Tom 1 Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 As a neutral, just over 3m still seems a bit cheeky/insulting for someone of Warnock's ability. Think hes looked a good player since his move. Friedel thing will just be glad when it's over, knew it would drag as soon as I saw Spurs were involved in some indirect form...it's the same as Barry/Liverpool, you always know which couple of clubs make things drag. Shocked at Fulham, how many strikers they already have on their books before putting in that kind of money for someone who is definitely not worth it in my opinion.

bonerdude Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 its like waiting for a super duper firework to go off.....one sale of one player can spark numerous transfers off...who knows where it wll end....
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 If we sell Warnock for under 5m at the very, very least, I'll be stunned.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Hopefully Warnock will know that he's at a club where he's getting games week in week out and playing really well. He's also knocking on the England door. By moving to Newcastle it's a risk which isn't worth taking surely?!
1&OnlyRover Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 cheers mate, though i was anticipating much better when you said "The 11 o'clocker may be better than anticipated..." didnt seem much better, in actual fact worser
roverfanuk Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 I thought Williams told Newcastle Warnock wasn't for sale? As for Cruz, at the risk of repeating myself. The line should be 'he's not for sale!'... Edit: Have you got any names for RB and RM for us yet Nicko? Ones that you haven't mentioned yet anyway?
S15 Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Roy Hodgson is Bloody hillarious. £6m on Zamora and £10.75m on Johnson?? Stop it Roy, these boys are woth about £5m-£7m between them, with atleast 80% of that being Johnson.
steverovers Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 If we sell Warnock for under 5m at the very, very least, I'll be stunned. We shouldn't consider selling him for under 10 million!
cruz Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 £3m for Warnock has to be a joke. Newcastle really are a joke
brfcshabba Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 I thought Williams told Newcastle Warnock wasn't for sale? As for Cruz, at the risk of repeating myself. The line should be 'he's not for sale!'... Looks like we will have to tell them again

Bentleys stock price has just gone to 22 million! Good old Roy......they'll be buying Zamora next!...........
bonerdude Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 tell you what tell newcastle we will have owen/warnock swap and we will chuck in mokeana as a sweetner.....
novella Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Pretty positive newcastle will be told to go away. let them bid away. he's not for sale and already stated he's looking forward to the new season.
1&OnlyRover Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 nicko, could you eloborate on the villa bid for fridel and rovers going for robinson situation. cheers
RevidgeBlue Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 WARNOCK - First the bad news...Newcastle have been back in...think the offer is now just over £3 million...it's a bit worrying because they won't go away...surprised this one is ongoing. FRIEDEL/ROBINSON - Villa have been in [again] and I think it is just about the right figure...now it's up to agreeing a fee for Robinson...sounds a bit like a cracked record. ANDY JOHNSON - Fulham have come in at an astonishing £10.75 million which is why he pulled out of the Everton game tonight...that is more than Wigan are willing to pay...so I think he will move....relevance to Rovers...none that I can see. MAN CITY - Cisse is the name I am hearing that they are after...Marseille have told him he can go but only if he finds a club quickly...but the Roque thing will no doubt rear its head...Rovers have to stop that from happening - and surely can. Thanks nicko, at least the LT will now have something to print tomorrow! Re Warnock: personally I would have thought any bid would have to be around the 8m mark before we even think twice about turning it down.
AlanK Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Never mind Bentley, Cruz, Warnock,I`ll be glad when our keeper situation is sorted. Thanks as always Nicko
Hi Mack Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Pretty positive newcastle will be told to go away. let them bid away. he's not for sale and already stated he's looking forward to the new season. Barton Butt Owen Milner Luque Duff All went to Newcastle and none have improved! In fact theyve all got worse its a club to be avoided!
bubblerrovers Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Niko i'm getting the feeling some of the players are disappointed with the Ince appointment, am i far from the mark?? some of your news just doesn't make sense, Obviously Bents was pretty much a dead cert to leave whoever we appointed but Freidel just doesn't make sense, and i'm thinking Warnocks agent must be making 'come get me' noises to the Geordies?? look at the poll he's far from what the fans wanted is that the same for the players?
roverfanuk Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Pretty positive newcastle will be told to go away. let them bid away. he's not for sale and already stated he's looking forward to the new season. I think its pretty obvious for all to see that Newcastle are either: A) Very thick and don't know how to value a player Are putting in low bids they know will be rejected to unsettle Warnock and see if he comes out in the media to say he's interested C) They are testing the water to see if any other teams are interested. Much like a starting bid you might place on Ebay to see how many people are watching... D) They are collectively with several other teams trying to unsettle our entire squad for the new season, as they see us as direct competition to them! (not conspiracy it happens most seasons to many teams now!) Niko i'm getting the feeling some of the players are disappointed with the Ince appointment, am i far from the mark?? some of your news just doesn't make sense, Obviously Bents was pretty much a dead cert to leave whoever we appointed but Freidel just doesn't make sense, and i'm thinking Warnocks agent must be making 'come get me' noises to the Geordies?? look at the poll he's far from what the fans wanted is that the same for the players? Woe is me!! Warnock has said he is happy at the club. Newcastle are just trying to unsettle him in the hope he acts up like Bentley meaning we have to sell. Its a technique often used which im sure Warnock won't fall for!
VillaSimon Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 cheers nicko, save me watching ssn in the morning
67splitscreen Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 I know it's not the norm for the club, but I think it is time for JW to make a statement. Not is normal Mr nice guy. A big ★★★★ ★★★ in no uncertain terms. Brad & cry baby can go then thats it. The shop's closed for all sales, business as usual for purchases. Thank you.
Hughesy Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Nicko - any idea on the brad bid - is it £3m? or more? Is it official that they have made a bid? With Warnock do you think its a case his agent maybe being in touch with them due to him being unhappy that Hughes left and they are simply testing the club?
mjs Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 I thought Williams told Newcastle Warnock wasn't for sale? Maybe their persistence is due to Warnock letting Newcastle know he is interested.
rebelmswar Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Maybe their persistence is due to Warnock letting Newcastle know he is interested. Maybe they are just plain stupid.
