imy9 Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 £750K for an England International Keeper who is 28 years old. What a fantastic deal for the club if it turns out correct. £2.75 million for a 37 year old is an amazing transfer for us, considering Villa could have picked him up for peanuts before he signed a 2 yr deal.

Grabbi Graeme Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Wouldn't it be the return of Bert Mk 1? Mk 1 = Right midfield Mk 2 = Right back Mk 3 = Centre Midfield I was really hoping to see Mk3 for the next four years, I'll be very worried if it's a return to Mk1... Edit: I wish Spurs would just hurry up and give us a decent cash + Robinson offer and get this whole saga over with, we can't properly plan properly for next season until it's all resolved. Maybe Mk 4, a much better version of the mk 1 a bit like a Ford Escort
vintageadidas Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 I be happy if BF is replaced by Robinson - on his day he is a top keeper and just needs a fresh start. We have offered a fresh start to many players and most have grabbed it with both hands, such as Brad, Warnock, Roque, Benni to name but a a few.
imy9 Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Nicko is Bentley still part of the Robinson bid or is he seperate? Sorry about the double post, computer was playing up!!

nicko Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Nicko is this true: http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/sport/footba...n.html?ITO=1490 If so it is a relief at least we have a decent keeper coming in. Not yet...
Sandiway Blue Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Get Bert MK3 a green jersey. Would he then become Bert mk4?
Mozzer Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 3.5million for robinson-is this the right figure?? whats the latest on castillo and the chiliean-have either trained with the club yet??
BRFC1995 Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 He's gonna have to get a load better fast, he's gonna get hammered if he looks shaky from the start. I really wish football was more about football and less about business as from the footballing side this is terrible news. Any idea on wages as i imagine they'd be far higher than what brad was on.
1&OnlyRover Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 nicko, 2 questions 1) Is there going to be a 11 o'clocker tonight 2) Anything worthwile in the 11 o'clocker, rovers related preferably
steverovers Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 nicko, 2 questions 1) Is there going to be a 11 o'clocker tonight 2) Anything worthwile in the 11 o'clocker, rovers related preferably Nicko, do you get fed up with people asking questions that you have already answered in earlier posts, ON THE SAME DAY?
Torgeir Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 ROBINSON - Price is a bit silly, but you could say the same about Bentley. Big difference though - they accepted a bid and then decided to change the price whereas we didn't. You mentioned Ali Al-Habsi too...I think he's definitely one we should take a closer look at. He might not be Friedel but he is a highly capable goalkeeper - can't understand why you don't rate him.
1&OnlyRover Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Nicko, do you get fed up with people asking questions that you have already answered in earlier posts, ON THE SAME DAY? well sorry, not all of us sit reading all the posts made all day
Sandiway Blue Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 well sorry, not all of us sit reading all the posts made all day Thats because half of the posts are made up of people asking the same questions rather than taking 5 mins to scout through the days posts!
brfcshabba Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 well sorry, not all of us sit reading all the posts made all day You have asked the same question twice in the last hour. Just wait for 11 O'clock.
SundayMondayHabibBeye Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 There is a rumour going in Newcastle that Shay Given is going back to Blackburn.
steverovers Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 well sorry, not all of us sit reading all the posts made all day A quick search of Nicko's posts for the day will answer your question anyway! (Or should he reply 4 or 5 times to the same question?)
LeChuck Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 well sorry, not all of us sit reading all the posts made all day Just wait until 11 and see. Please stop asking if there will be one...do you really think the whole 11 o'clock post hangs on whether you ask for it or not? If it comes it'll come, just wait and find out.
steverovers Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 There is a rumour going in Newcastle that Shay Given is going back to Blackburn. Top keeper! I wouldn't mind him coming back after all these years!
Iceman Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Nicko wil there be 11'o clocker tomorrow? no only joking.i think if its true, that we signed robbo for 3.5mill then its bloody good business imo by JW.
SundayMondayHabibBeye Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Top keeper! I wouldn't mind him coming back after all these years! Hasn't been the same since Marlon Harewood assaulted him in all honesty. Steve Harper outperformed him last season, plus Tim Krul and Fraser Forster are meant to be two of the best keeper prospects out there. Furthermore, there have been reports in Argentina that Estudientes signed keeper Barbossa from Villareal because Mariano Andujar is going to Newcastle. Therefore there could be legs in these rumours.
1&OnlyRover Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Back on a serious note, away from the bickering, "Sky Sports News understands that Tottenham Hotspur duo Pascal Chimbonda and Teemu Tainio have completed their moves to Sunderland. Chimbonda and Tainio underwent medicals on Wearside earlier on Wednesday"
