jannerman Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 What they deserve is a 48-hour party ! Party for players This is getting my blood boiling.... Irrespective of the managers performance the players really do need to take some responsibility for their performances, and they bloody-well should not have been allowed to go on a Christmas booze up over the weekend - I would have had them in training six am the next day end of....very poor taste Rovers, but at least a couple had the grace to say no. I think, if the comments I've read on here recently are true then the training methods may well need to be looked at but certainly the players level of commitment should be as well....do they all really think that if Rovers slip down into the Championship they'll just be able to engineer a move away back to a Premier team? If we're talking about survival then all the noises seem to indicate that someone will have to come in and kick some asses at some point - so it's definitely going to get tougher before it gets easier imo. As for my own take I still think PI should go, if he is as organised as Williams says he is then it must just simply mean his knowledge just isn't up to the Prem - yet. We are most certainly not dead and buried yet, but we must not lose at the weekend.

broadsword Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Apparently the board met for 30 mins on Sat night, still didn't make a decision. Why wait to get a new manager in, we need a caretaker. Just sack him TODAY and give everyone a MASSIVE boost!
Athlete Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 stop dithering please Williams and get this clown and his backroom staff out ASAP
alexanders Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 When is one of the coaches going to come on SSN?
T4E Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Why wait to get a new manager in, we need a caretaker. Just sack him TODAY and give everyone a MASSIVE boost! WHY IS THIS SO DIFFICULT FOR THEM TO UNDERSTAND?!
emglch Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 must be the compensation. the board can't afford it.
Hughesy Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Some horrible facts from last night on SSN. 56% of teams in 19th after 17 games have gone down at the end of the season. Last season both Reading and Birmingham had more points at this stage and still went down.
roverfanuk Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 When is one of the coaches going to come on SSN? They are going to talk to a coach at the club, about the current mood at Ewood... Ince is obviously not leaving any time soon! I feel sick to my stomach!
Hughesy Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 I cant understand it, they keep banging on saying a couple more games, the players are all still in a good spirit and they are 100% determined to back Ince - yet Saturday clearly showed that he has lost the dressing room and needs to go before half of our team wants out of the club. JW: SACK PAUL INCE TODAY!
broadsword Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 WHY IS THIS SO DIFFICULT FOR THEM TO UNDERSTAND?! I really haven't a clue. To see the club press the self-destruct button in this way is upsetting. No other word for it, upsetting. Even BuckyRover knows the man has to go.
OscarRaven Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 56% of teams in 19th after 17 games have gone down at the end of the season. That to me shows how on a knife edge this really is, get Ince out and quick. The facts are that the new guy only has a 50:50 chance as it is (sorry 56:44), dither any longer and its a forgone conclusion.
tcj_jones Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Come on guys, I think we all know that the board just don't have the balls to sack the manager. He'll have the Stoke game and the club's relegation will be confirmed on that day. I just don't understand what giving Ince another week will achieve. Even if we win, he still clearly isn't up to the job. This is turning into a farce, he should have been sacked weeks ago. We could be facing Stoke with a new management team in place and after they've had an extended period with the players. Instead, we keep the current inept one and let the players go on an almighty ###### up! The club has been nothing short of an embarassment ever since Hughes's departure and changes have to be made. EDIT: And, if we were to sack Ince after the Stoke game, we could be going into absolutely critical fixtures with nobody to run the team! Shambolic, Rovers!
gumboots Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 The Irish Times psychoanalyses Ince If they don't sack Ince they have got it majorly wrong. When even moderate fans like myself feel cheated by the performance on Saturday and feel that anybody the board brought in could not do a worse job then it is beyond time to act. I'm fervently hoping that Philipl is right and it is the desire to get all the paperwork over and done with and come up with a statement that gives out the right messages for all concerned so that our club comes out with some credit and gives the media nothing to get at us about that is holding up the announcement that he's gone. Staff around school are asking one another when we pass in the corridor. We're all hoping.
cloggyjimmybrfc Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 statistics are there to be broken though.....get charlie out now and weve still a chance....are you hearing williams???
Hughesy Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 JW words after saturdays defeat (Hopefully he has seen the light and will remove Ince: "I'm naturally disappointed after that defeat. "Without taking anything away from Wigan I have to say I was very disappointed with what I saw. I feel very sorry for the supporters, not least the 12 Father Christmases, who I thought sung their hearts out and really got behind the side. "They paid their 20 pounds after reading the same stuff about the togetherness and they came out to show the team their support. They gave the team a great welcome onto the pitch and they must be bitterly disappointed. "The worry is the league table is beginning to stretch out and now we need two wins just to get back among the pack at the bottom. "It wasn't the first time we've gone behind in games but at least before we've shown spirit in trying to come back. "For the first time out there, there was something really missing and there was never that feeling we'd get something out of the game."
Mc Love Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Good article in the times there! Well read!
67splitscreen Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 What's the betting, it's by mutual consent. Not that it matters, as long as he is gone before 9am in the morning. (no need for good bye's with the players)
BRFC1995 Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 No way the club lets a member of staff talk to the press and then sacks him and the manager within hours. Start to face the reality the clown will still be here after stoke beat us. I will place a very large bet against us on saturday if this idiot is still in charge, could have made a fortune betting against rovers this season.
philipl Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 What a coincidence- Waggy posts and the back vote rockets up by 1 to 4.44%
my_name_is_Earl Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Waggy is clearly not a Rovers fan, if anyone thinks Ince is still the man for this job, they are deluded. I think those who back him are WUM's and Ince's family.
Hughesy Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 I will place a very large bet against us on saturday if this idiot is still in charge, could have made a fortune betting against rovers this season. Thats exactly what I did on saturday - although the bet wasnt that large! 4.44% support for a manager is pathetic anyway Philip. Surely the board will see sense. Could the hold up be the fact that they want the players to know 1st before its officially announced??
martmitch Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 its lunchtime and he is still our manager...
JAL Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 I cant understand it, they keep banging on saying a couple more games, the players are all still in a good spirit and they are 100% determined to back Ince - yet Saturday clearly showed that he has lost the dressing room and needs to go before half of our team wants out of the club. JW: SACK PAUL INCE TODAY! Half the team should go aswell SACK THE PLAYERS !!!!
nicko Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 The quotes from the chairman in the local paper just about say it all. Add to that what another director was saying after the game...
