James has just shot up in my estimation. Impressed he has donated the money to charity

He regularly does. He'll make a good manager IMO. Only thing is stopping him is that there isn't much of a precedent for keepers becoming managers...

I would say that after reading that James is brighter than 90% of people in football in the media that I have come across! Players, Managers, TV pundits. He obviously reads a lot when he is not between the posts, and has worked on his writing. Very impressed.

Agreed.

Very sensible article indeed. When James hangs up his gloves i hope he does go into management and become a success,i think he has what it takes to do well.

Either that or take up a career in journalism,he would be far better than a certain Mr.Holt!

Until his compo has been agreed and paid, he isn't going to rock the boat is he?

I predict if he takes over at Charlton and keep them in the Championship, and they will be in the running for promotion next year. (If he doesn't get a better offer in the meantime)

based on what exactly?a left right left centre striker onthewing or midfield goalie...all in the paul ince tactic book,if i dont what im doing how the f can the opposisition.

I wonder if Ince, should he get the Charlton job, would come in for Andrews, and would Andrews prefer to stay and fight for a place?

dont just post wait and see..BASED ON WHAT?

WW WILL SEE haha just like the bolton thread when you said we wernt in a relegation fight or when you said it would be ok if we get relegated because ince would get us promoted.

He was undermined from the start at Rovers (in my opinion) as the board and players were split. Unfortunately he didn't have the ability to manage this under the spotlight of the premier league media circus and did not have the experience or resources to change the people, which is what you should do in these circumstances.

 I don't understand why you even wrote that. Your second sentence answers your first sentence perfectly. Basically players can soon spot a dud.

It's not for me to post on here what was said in a private discussion, but Ince made a favourable impression just by having the balls to have an honest conversation with an angry fan in those circumstances (and telling his sidekick security guards to "**** off" in order to do so).

The one edifying thing that I have heard about Paul Ince. He didn't need to have done that at all so fair play to him. It shows a human side to him. Maybe frustration and shock at the performance and the crowd reaction connected to the realisation by then that it was almost certainly his last match in charge lead him to seek some sort of council away from the spotlight. It must be really sh1t and lonely standing out there on your own with scorn and hatred being heaped upon you from all sides and without being able to defend oneself.

At least he can take solace in the fact he deserved it...

Possibly.............. But I can't imagine anybody would ever make the same mistake about you.

btw I don't mind you continually stalking me all that much creosote. I can almost take it as flattery..... unless as I strongly suspect you have a hard on whilst you do it! :glare:
