Bobby G Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 No Villanueva on the bench... More than the usual bit of detail on a player thats pulled out on the official website (re: Roque) and I think the details in there to quell the conspiracy theorists out there...

No ball winner in midfield which is slightly worrying so it will be interesting to see how the midfield copes. Good to see Judge on the bench.
vyeo Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Surprised. I didnt expect to see Andrews still in there. Vogel might not be fit enough for Sam, or maybe having only had a day or so with the players, Sam went by Robinson (the coach)'s recommendations for today.
Blue n White Rover Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Hoof it up to Roberts? He's our new Kevin Davies. Anyway Good Luck to Sam today and hopefully we'll have that winning feeling back come 5 o'clock!
Swissrover Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 I think we need to give Sam the time to find "his" best selection. And although I would pick Vogel over Andrews anytime, I have to admit, that Andrews is more match fit. But he won't stay in the squad for too long is my guess.
LeChuck Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Maybe Sam thinks it's not worth putting a ball-winner in the centre of midfield as Stoke don't play any of their football there anyway. It's a very attacking line-up anyway, let's see how they get on.
AussieinUk Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 With the three worst culprits (Andrewa, Nelsen & Warnock) from last weeks game, in today's starting XI, It will be interesting to see how they get on under new management.. C'mon Rovers
PAFELL Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 No ball winner in midfield which is slightly worrying so it will be interesting to see how the midfield copes. Good to see Judge on the bench. I think Andrews may be replaced during the game and Judge will come on - which may bring Emerton inside a bit.
Mr. E Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 why the hell are Samba, Nelsen and Warnock still starting for this football club.
rovers1993 Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 warnock??? i understand samba and nelsen but warnock has been good except for a few instances... oh and any chat rooms?
Presty On Tour Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Roberts fell over the ball when he had a great opportunity to do some damage!
snatchymcsnatch Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Quite a frantic start as expected - Emrton running his socks off and Sonko's long throws are inevitably causing Rovers defence problems
snatchymcsnatch Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 1-0 the Mac is Back!!!! Come on rovers
rovers1993 Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 mccarthy!!! lets hope this is the tone for allardyce's reign!! haha 1-0 up!
