Waggy76 Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 Looks like WBA will be joined by two from Boro, Newcastle, Sunderland and Hull. My money is on West Brom , Middlesboro and Hull City
MCMC1875 Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 Last 4 results spot on, the rest.............. .......lose 3 away games, draw at Stoke and win 3 home wins. COME ON YOU BLUES!!! Called the last 5 results correctly. I will be happy with a point at Stoke.
thenodrog Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 The issue concerning me most is that the rest of the relagation threatened clubs now appear to be fighting like hell already for their Prem lives whilst on the evidence of the last two matches we are not. I hope this is temporary or SA can correct it.
Backroom DE. Posted April 12, 2009 Backroom Posted April 12, 2009 Man City 1-3 Fulham. Yeah, I think they can beat Boro.
philipl Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Second time in three seasons Fulham have shocked a Sparky side 3-1 at home. Puts a big dent in Man City thoughts of Europa Cup for next season. Fortune smiled on us this week-end as the other results pretty well went our way. Only 1 point nearer the drop despite the thrashing at Anfield with Sunderland remaining 2 points beneath us as well and none of the clubs around us getting a big step forwards either so they are all still in trouble with us.
John Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Staying afloat: Plenty of battles still await in battle against the drop Blackburn will have enough (to escape); they have to be very, very careful. If Roque Santa Cruz, Benni McCarthy and Jason Roberts then that may be a situation that affects them but I think they will get enough points.
Billy Castell Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 I think 4 points from the next 3 games would be enough for us to be safe. The momentum will be recovered and so on. I hope normal service will be resumed with the bottom 3 ASAP. I'd like Hull to stay up.
Guest Vinjay606 Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Wouldn't mind seeing Portsmouth go down due to the Kidd connection. I thought for sure that Stoke City would go down but they have done far better than I expected. WBA of course look doomed and despite Middlesbrough winning I still think relegation looks likely for them. I have a feeling Newcastle will escape and also believe Sunderland, BRFC and Hull will be OK. So I predict relegation for Middlesbrough, WBA and Portsmouth.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Dropping down a league and depending upon other results, Charlton could see themselves in the abyss of Div 1 come 4:45 today.
tashor Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Just been on betfair. After yesterdays "disaster" you can all get ELEVEN TO ONE that we will go down. There will surely be alot of rich punters hereabouts?
brfcs5359 Posted April 14, 2009 Author Posted April 14, 2009 Hulls Fixtures - Points 34 The Sunderland away and Stoke at home are 2 big six pointers. Relying in Newcastle. Hughesy Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 With only 30 points in the bag it looks like too big a task for Boro if you ask me - cant see them getting more than 6-8 points. Remaining: Middlesbrough v Fulham, 15:00 - 3 Arsenal v Middlesbrough, 13:30 - 0 Middlesbrough v Man Utd, 15:00 - 0 Newcastle v Middlesbrough, 15:00 - 1 - maybe 3 Middlesbrough v Aston Villa, 15:00 - 1 West Ham v Middlesbrough, 16:00 - 1 As for Pompey - if they dont beat Bolton then the pressure could really be on them in a few games with the next 3 against United, Newcastle & Arsenal.
brfcs5359 Posted April 15, 2009 Author Posted April 15, 2009 Planning next season in the championship West Brom Worrying about next season in the championship Boro, Newcastle, Sunderland, Hull Worrying about next season in the premiership Pompey, Blackburn, Stoke ++
John Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Our lack of strikers for the run-in is a serious cause for concern now, our options are pretty screwed. Santa is likely to be out for most of our remaining games, plus we will be fortunate to have Roberts back. Also you have to bear in mind if either return how sharp they will be.

Boro have a habit of pulling out a good win against a big side so don't write them off against a nervy Utd. But then I expect they'll lose to Fulham and Newcastle so I agree - I think (hope) they're on their way
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Yeah, I agree. We really need Fulham to grab all 3 points.
Backroom DE. Posted April 15, 2009 Backroom Posted April 15, 2009 I think Boro/Newcastle will be a decisive match, but most likely be a draw - a bad result for either club. Yet, I think both will be too nervy to go for the win. 1-1 or 0-0.
92er Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Our lack of strikers for the run-in is a serious cause for concern now, our options are pretty screwed. Santa is likely to be out for most of our remaining games, plus we will be fortunate to have Roberts back. Also you have to bear in mind if either return how sharp they will be. Allardyce said on Radio Lancs that Santa will definitely miss Saturday, but he hopes he will then have a rapid recovery. Roberts said in the LT that although he doesn't want to give a definite date for his return, he is hoping to target the Wigan match.
brfcs5359 Posted April 16, 2009 Author Posted April 16, 2009 In general I like Allardyce. Tactically astute based on common sense viewpoint you'd hear in the stands rather than lost in professional details. The question is regarding strikers, why not recall Gallagher and Derbyshire, they are our players, they are scoring, we have no strikers at the club fit. Espcially Gallagher who could play supporting role and would look class in this rovers team (and class against the likes of Liverpool).
Backroom Tom Posted April 16, 2009 Backroom Posted April 16, 2009 It's been done over and over Graham, Derbyshire can't be recalled as we recieved a loan fee for him (I tihnk anyway) I'd stick Blackman on the bench at least for fresh legs up top if needed I think if Toon lose on Sunday it could be the end for them, morale will be lower than it is and it's a a game they need to target a win
OJRovers Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Derbs will be locked into the loan at Olympicaos. I'm sure we could get Gally back from Plymouth - I know Big Sam made it clear he doesn't rate him, but I think he could do a job playing behind a front man (Samba?). He is scoring goals and will have a point to prove.
