Bobby G Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Do you at least agree that they are a defensive, counter-attacking team? They sit back and invite you and kill you on the counter.

LeChuck Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Another interesting thing to consider regarding formations. Come 3pm there will be six teams in action...five of those teams will be playing some variation of 4-5-1. "4-4-2! 4-4-2!"
tcj_jones Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Sorry Bobby, but Villa's style of football is completely different to ours. The do rely on set pieces and they do hit it long when countering, but they have pace, skill and creativity. They play long searching balls to counter attack, never aimless punts to the front man. They get cross after cross into the box and have wingers with great deliveries and who can beat a man. In Milner and Petrov they also have good passers of the ball, who can retain possession. Also, the media must be exaggerating. I'm not sure how you could lose a dressing room after all of about six weeks into the job.
1864roverite Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 HOW RIDICULOUS TO CALL VILLA SCUM. They are a quakity outfit and just coz they pipped Rovers to Wembley doesnt suddenly make them bad. I want the to destroy burnley, a ckub that can rightly be called scum
mellison24 Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Also, the media must be exaggerating. I'm not sure how you could lose a dressing room after all of about six weeks into the job. Ince, perhaps?
philipl Posted February 21, 2010 Author Posted February 21, 2010 Ince, perhaps? No, Ince lost them in about six days...
imy9 Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 4-1 Villa. Great quote "When Emily Heskey scores for you, you know it is going to be your day!"
Stuart Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 4-1 Villa. Great quote "When Emily Heskey scores for you, you know it is going to be your day!" They are going to pieces - 3 goals in about 5 minutes. We won't be discussing Bumley in this thread for much longer.
1864roverite Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Villa goal fest, nice one Brad Friedel, ketting the dingkes have a ray of hope and then yr team blowing them out of the game with a 3 goal in 5 minute blast. whoops 5-1
philipl Posted February 21, 2010 Author Posted February 21, 2010 If Villa get another, they go above Liverpool on GD as things stand. In fact why don't Villa score 7 so we don't feel so rotten about shipping 6 at Villa Park??? Thank you, there's the 5th
Backroom Tom Posted February 21, 2010 Backroom Posted February 21, 2010 I had a feeling that burnley would win 2-1 today but after our win I couldn't care less now but then again this is great
Backroom Tom Posted February 21, 2010 Backroom Posted February 21, 2010 The pitch at the dw is awful people falling all over the place
philipl Posted February 21, 2010 Author Posted February 21, 2010 The pitch at the dw is awful people falling all over the place Yes, the linesman could not see the goal was two yards offside for all that mud!
CrazyIvan Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Yes, the linesman could not see the goal was two yards offside for all that mud! Wigan's pitch is much worse than ours. I watched a ball passed across the midfield bobble a foot in the air. Miles offside goal and the game is cack.
DeadlyDirk Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 The pitch at the dw is awful people falling all over the place It's terrible, there is no way a game at premiership level should be played on a surface like that.
philipl Posted February 21, 2010 Author Posted February 21, 2010 Rovers have just lost one of our Premier League records. Spurs 12-0 aggregate double over Wigan beats our 12-1 aggregate double over Forest.
philipl Posted February 21, 2010 Author Posted February 21, 2010 In that case, they have equalled us! Let's see if the Tottenham media give us our dues in the morning.
brfcshabba Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 In that case, they have equalled us! Let's see if the Tottenham media give us our dues in the morning. I think Liverpool have also got that record as they scored 11 over Ipswich a few years ago
philipl Posted February 21, 2010 Author Posted February 21, 2010 I think Liverpool have also got that record as they scored 11 over Ipswich a few years ago 12 beats 11
Hughesy Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 7 point gap now between us in 12th and 13th (West Ham) Just 4 points seperate 12th-8th....come on boys!!
philipl Posted February 21, 2010 Author Posted February 21, 2010 12-1 will get listed ahead of 11-0. Anyway, if we have a wet spring, I reckon the pitch will get Wigan relegated. I know they are trained athletes and all that but the recovery time after running through that bog for 90+ minutes must be horrendous.

They mentioned in commentry that it was the last footy match on it before it was being done.
beerwins Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Slavan Bilic on MOTD surely this guy is boosting is hopes on a move to the prem, who is he going to replace? Sooner or later he is going to be managing in the prem. Though Wet Spam got a win yesterday I can see his name fitting there or Sunderland, surely Bruce is going to go soon and who would replace him? Its certainly hotting up at some managerial positions. Also how does a 0-0 warrant an earlier start than a 3-0 (I know it bases on fan size but please...) BBC really sucks ass.
