unsall Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Says he hopes to get a contract from Rovers, and that he wants to stay in England. Still training with us, played the last two practice matches at cente half, just here to keep his fitness up is what is coming out of ewood..........
nicko Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Still training with us, played the last two practice matches at cente half, just here to keep his fitness up is what is coming out of ewood.......... Van der Meyde is a free agent, so he could sign after the window is shut. That will give us all something to talk about in September.
Fylde Coast Fan Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 this rumour is on SSN right now. £2.5mill If Spurs sign him for £2.5m I will be a very sad pony.
budha Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 If Spurs sign him for £2.5m I will be a very sad pony. Why? Pompey not having a big lump of cash is a bad thing? Not like we would've had something over Spurs, London and 'Arry?
nicko Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 If Spurs sign him for £2.5m I will be a very sad pony. Bear in mind one thing...deals between those two clubs are never quite what they appear. Remember Boateng went to Pompey for an inflated fee and O'Hara is there 'on loan.' And there is also the small question of James going to Tottenham too if he can agree personal terms.
Bobby G Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Spurs agree fee for Kranjkar. Expected to join in next few hours supposedly.
bob fleming Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 It's not Barton. I can't say anymore. That's more than enough. Cheers Kamy!
Tom 1 Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 They also reckon they're selling Bentley to city for 14m plus Martin Petrov!?
philipl Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 They also reckon they're selling Bentley to city for 14m plus Martin Petrov!? Daft as it may sound, that would be a significant strengthening of both clubs. At that price, it could be very good news for Rovers too.
nicko Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 They also reckon they're selling Bentley to city for 14m plus Martin Petrov!? So Spurs are signing TWO left wingers in the space of a few minutes. I have never taken drugs, but if that is right I may be tempted.
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 At that price, it could be very good news for Rovers too. Why - do we have a sell on clause ?
Bobby G Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 There is no chance that we have a sell on having sold him at 17 million.
67splitscreen Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Daft as it may sound, that would be a significant strengthening of both clubs. At that price, it could be very good news for Rovers too. Go on I'll be the numpty, why is it good news for Rovers?. Edit, must learn to type faster.
Tom 1 Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 So Spurs are signing TWO left wingers in the space of a few minutes. I have never taken drugs, but if that is right I may be tempted. Harry can't help himself, he loves signing people.
Fife Rover Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Quality. The end of Sam Allardyce as Blackburn manager The end of Blackburn Rovers more like. And before the humourless one's come flying in (cue Theno).....Only joking!
brian_gallagher85 Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 BS, it is. Only one position needed to fill - physical target man option - Cousin the first choice. Amazed that there has not been more amusement about Burnley being after a player called Cousin. You Rovers fans have gone soft... My Facebook status an hour before you wrote that; Brian Gallagher is loving the irony of the Dingles being interested in a player called COUSIN! hahahahaha 4 hours ago
American Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 So when Sky say "Our sources tell us....." they've just been reading the paper (i.e. your work)!? I can't imagine a much more frustrating profession. It makes your efforts on here all the more appreciated. Appreciate that Nicko has built up a good set of sources over the years, but you're daft to think other reporters haven't as well.
philipl Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 There is no chance that we have a sell on having sold him at 17 million. We sold for 15+2 and haven't had the +2. Dafter things have happened nicko but I do not think this Petrov/Bentley story is for real. Worth remembering Krancjar can play a more withdrawn role and there are games when having pace out left is more important than pace wide right and even the occasional game where having two flyers and one striker is ideal.
Bobby G Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Whats the +2m? Receivable when Bentley is sold?
philipl Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Whats the +2m? Receivable when Bentley is sold? Usually these things are linked to appearances, goal scoring, winning things, qualifying for Europe and England caps. All the sorts of things Bentley used to do at Rovers if he can remember that far back. Then as a fail safe, a clause is usually entered to protect the selling club in the event of the buying club effecting a quick sale or selling after less than a specified number of appearances.
gumboots Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Why so serious? You should know by now Gordon that I had a humour bypass at birth. Plus from myself and husband on holiday in dry Brittany I've gone to myself, husband and 3 out of 4 kids at home in rainy Clitheroe. Enough to make anyone fed up. Then we float the idea of Barton ........
ebenrocks Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Maybe Nicko's 11 o'clocker is that Barcelona called up Sam today to offer a swap deal with Messi coming our way, and Keith Andrews heading off there.... i think thats probably right isnt it Nicko... ISNT IT
1864roverite Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Barton or Nolan could both be at Ewood Park or Brockhall in a matter of 2 hours, so I wouldn't rule either out until 5pm tomorrow evening
