RoyRover Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Lewandowski set for Dormund - £4m Reading that article about Lewandowski, if Borussia Dortmund are looking to let the Hungarian Tamas Hajnal leave, I would be interested. He's a very good technical midfielder, who can create things with his passing. This is something we've been missing for years. And Bolton are apparently releasing Ivan Klasnic, with Sam interested in picking him up. Ivan Klasnic? Eh, yes please. I'd be far happier with him, than with Dindane. I think that Klasnic has shown that he can score goals at this level. Taddei. Jorge Martinez. Aleksandar Lukovic. Marco Cassetti. Cannot agree new contracts with their clubs and maybe leaving on a Bosman come end of season, they are after £35,000-£40,000 a-week to come to England. Serbian Aleksandar Lukovic would be a good signing at left back, although by what you are saying, his wages would be too high. Just heard Gojko Kacar available for around £4.5 million after Hertha's relegation.Patrick Ebert £2.5 Million.Arne Friedrich £3 million.Steve von Bergen will leave on a free. The player that would interest me the most is Gojko Kacar. This guy is brilliant, a real star of the future. He can play in a number of positions, but midfield is where he is at his best and scores a number of goals from. He'll be at the World Cup too with Serbia. Again though, £4.5 million will some how be too much for us. That would make for an interesting team talk, trying to translate it into Hungarian, Serbian and Croatian!

Sparky Marky Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 The 5 year contract has given us massive security - Jones wont be leaving anytime soon & if he does, it will take much more than £10m. Are you joking? If a club offered £10m for him this summer, you wouldn't take it? He wasnt worth ten bob in january....and might not be worth ten bob by the end of september.
American Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Are you joking? If a club offered £10m for him this summer, you wouldn't take it? He wasnt worth ten bob in january....and might not be worth ten bob by the end of september. Would be nice to keep a young home grown player with potential, but the last young defender we had that showed near as much promise was Jay McEvely (he is available on a free this summer). That being said, it would take silly money with a sell-on for it to be a good deal for us. We should be buying promising youngsters like him, not selling them.
SergioPeter89 Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 If we could get Kacar for 4,5m we should do it asap.. One of the most talented players in Europe atm..
alexanders Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 I wouldn't take £10m for Jones this summer. I love it when we actually have som local lads who support Rovers in our squad. I know far too many teams in Norway who only had foreign players and lost their connection with the local environment. Local affiliation is worth more than money for me. I say bring in klasnic!
Bobby G Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Klasnic has shown he can score goals and Dindane hasnt? Check out their respective stats and you will find that Dindane has outscored him well this season. Klasnic had a good start to the season but faded away.
Hughesy Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Are you joking? If a club offered £10m for him this summer, you wouldn't take it? He wasnt worth ten bob in january....and might not be worth ten bob by the end of september. It would be a hard one to call. Depends where that £10m would go. To me our defence is looking as solid as it has for years, it would take something special for us to break that by selling one surely. Jones is part of our future...sell the fringe players like Jacobsen or Chimbonda
Amo Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 It would be a hard one to call. Depends where that £10m would go. Into the black hole located somewhere off the coast of Jersey.

He wasnt worth ten bob in january....and might not be worth ten bob by the end of september. Lucky for scum fans Ferguson didn’t share your attitude 15 years or so ago. I’m not saying the players we have coming through are on the same level but still…
Hughesy Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Into the black hole located somewhere off the coast of Jersey. Exactly - so I wouldn't sell him then. We need to hang onto all our young stars now....no need to sell anymore so let's take advantage of it!
Brfcrule1 Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 I agree with Hughesy above sell chimbo,Jacobsen keep our young home grown players, also with next seasons home grown quota would make no sense to sell now. Nicko is the Pederson saga stalling on signing his contract anything to do with how we are not able to seal any transfers and waiting to see what we need? If so is there indication whether he will sign or not? someone should take it out of his hands and just withdraw it if he is holding us to ransom. I also think Dindane would be better than Klasnic klasnic has scored less goals and Dindane has more pace I think either him or Piquionne would be good additions.
Boz Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 I would not be surprised if Sam might already be having a look around with somebody up his sleeve. Who knows there may possibly be a galacticos who fancies a couple of seasons in the EPL with Madrid connections? Do not under estimate how much Salgado has enjoyed his first season, he may very well be persuading an ex team mate to join him.
Sparky Marky Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 We're all talking about adding this shyte player, that shyte player..dindane, piqionne...all this rubbish...I say, sell Jones for £10m, sell chimbonda, jacombson etc and invest in some real quality. We're not far away from being a europa league tem..look at fulham...they've spent a few bob more on Zamora/Duff and its paid off...I'd like us to go for Robbie Keane.
Torgeir Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Lewandowski and Gojko Kacar in, Roberts and Chimbonda out. Would be great, but I'm dreaming.
Sparky Marky Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Who? We need a couple of proven premier league players...
Ricky Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 umm.. just to add something to the 'lets sell ......' argument. You are aware that we need to have a buyer to sell a player aren't you. It's well and good saying lets sell Chimbonda but do you really think he's attracted any suiters after the performances he's put in this season. He's probably our third choice RB at the moment. I'm suer Sam would love to get his money back on him but it aint going to happen.

Make a list of the players that clubs would want, and i bet 95% of them are players you don't want to leave.

It's even worse when you consider rovers had an opportunity to sell andrews not so long back - and turned it down!!!!!!!!

You say alot of things, just a pity most of it is rammel. Invest in real quality, then you suggest a ageing Robbie Keane. How would he fit into our system exactly? We don't play 442 for him to play off a main striker, he aint a hold up man so he can't do the lone striker role. Add to the fact he is overpaid, overpriced and overrated. Screw it lets sell Jones, Olsson, N'Zonzi and Junior, who needs youth coming through. For the first time in a long time we have promising youngsters coming through and some people would get rid...

I'm suer Sam would love to get his money back on him but it aint going to happen. I can't see us selling Jacobsen for toffee. He'd probably have to leave on a free transfer. As for Chimbonda, we'd have to hope someone fancies taking the same chance on him that we did. Perhaps a promoted side would snap him up for a nominal fee? We're gonna need a minimum of two strikers next season. With Di Santo leaving, and question marks over Roberts' future, we'll be down to the bare bones. I actually like the idea of signing Dindane for a converted role. Throw in a new midfielder, regardless of Pedersen's future, we could have a top half of: (New midfielder) - Nzonzi Dindane - Dunn - Olsson Kalinic
Hughesy Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Left Back - Canella - Linked again Cant see it myself - says he is rated @ 12m Euros!!

Jones is part of our future...sell the fringe players like Jacobsen or Chimbonda We all know that if Jones was sold for £10 million, that Sam would barely see any of it. Yeah, he mightn't be worth that much again, but he has shown that he is a good player and definitely one for the future. It also means that we have a player who can either start or step into the team and we don't have to go looking to buy one. Also, I'd sell Chimbonda. I was impressed by Jacobsen and think that Chimbonda would raise more money.

A five year contract definitely ups his value from ten bob to ten million.
