BPF Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Diouf from Man U on loan seems very likely. No relation. So it's not confirmed? This is awfully confusing.
1864roverite Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Next story on ssnws as we speak. Turn on for confirmation
Bazrakats Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Diouf will be better than Di Santo there is absolutly no way he could be worse.
LeChuck Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Next story on ssnws as we speak. Turn on for confirmation Bit hard for those of us stuck at work! Anything reported on Twitter? Could someone stick his name into the search facility? I would but it's blocked.
Mark Atkins' Bald Patch Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Does anyone what sort of a player he is? Pace & power? Tricky? I've watched a couple of youtube videos on him this morning, he seems to score quite a few with his head. Other than that he's allowed to walk the ball into the net by shocking defending. He may have pace, but he wasn't required to show it in those examples. I've spoke to a couple of ManUre fans in work who say they haven't seen enough of him to comment. Only 6 appearances last year, mostly as sub.
SamTheShrew Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Sky are reporting that he is at Brockhall meeting new team mates - doesn't really leave much for confusion does it?
giraffen Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 According to Dagbladet i Norway it has been confirmed that Diouf joins Blackburn in a one year loan by Ferguson himself. http://www.dagbladet.no/2010/08/06/sport/manchester_united/mame_biram_diouf/fotball/premier_league/12854407/
Iceman Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 I know its been mentioned, but should we be looking at him
philipl Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Norwegian connection of course having gone to Man U from Molde. Perhaps only the first? Diouf to Diouf and in- just has to happen doesn't it? Of course he won't be available against the Mancs. Great poker face job by Sam in his interview yesterday when asked about incomings.
T4E Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Mame Diouf, Diouf, Diouf Wont you score a goal for me Mame Diouf, Diouf, Diouf Wont you score a goal for me With your left, with your right, with your head or with your feet Mame Diouf, Diouf, Diouf Wont you score a goal for me
Iceman Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Im happy with Diouf in on loan, and if we can get Moa in on a permanent then ill be very happy with that. Like i said, Kalinic, Moa, Diouf and Roberts looks a bit better. Add Faty to the team, and we will be doing well considering the non activity thats been happening.
Bazrakats Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 When they first signed him Ferguson stated he had been watched for two years so he must have something about him abit special.
nicko Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 So it's not confirmed? This is awfully confusing. Diouf should happen...but nobody seems to have pointed out he needs to do something with his work permit...I think there are new rules on that...he may have to re-apply. Anyway, it will happen. You have a striker now to take on Everton.
67splitscreen Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Probably a better option than Jo, only seen him a couple of times, when as a sub. Lets hope he does the business.

nicko Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 This is the dirt cheap option...I think Man U sometimes pay the wages of players they loan out as long as they are playing...see if that is confirmed... There are still two potential strikers to come...and Roberts to go. But at least the fun has started. Shouldnt a new one be a formality. They only gave him one six months ago. It can take time sometimes...remember the messing with Benni?...so that would have to be pushed through to get him clear for next Saturday.
G Somerset Rover Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 I know I'm being picky (I am a Rovers fan after all) but I would have preferred Wellbeck over Diouf.
nicko Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 I know I'm being picky (I am a Rovers fan after all) but I would have preferred Wellbeck over Diouf. Welbeck was ordinary at Preston. Skill but lightweight. Diouf is a big, clumsy character...but dangerous. Should fit your style much more.
Sparky Marky Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 wellbeck's ok in a top side like utd, where his misses aren't highlighted as much....at preston last season he really didn't impress.
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 A fear i do have is that we may be forced to play him even if he isn't performing that well and therefore not helping Kalinic's development. Loan option is probably the best option to us really with our finances.

Presty On Tour Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Di Santo was so hyped up last summer, the next Batistuta etc. He was in all honesty ###### poor but he gets at least 3 year legendary status for his goal against the dingles. Diouf is another loanee, so it's a no lose gamble again. Let's give the guy a chance and maybe he could be something special. I really hope we go for this Moa too, he sounds promising.
Torgeir Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Is it a loan with a view to buy, Nicko? I expect it's a pure loan deal as ManU probably see a future in him. He's quick, strong and athletic...looking forward to seeing him in a Rovers shirt.
Backroom Tom Posted August 6, 2010 Backroom Posted August 6, 2010 No chance with a view to buy no chance at all
