RibbleValleyRover Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 22 hours 53 mins until the kick off! Been buzzing all week thinking about the game, I'm expecting a close game that could go either way. I feel if we execute our gameplan well we should have a chance of winning it. At the same time you can't underestimate a strong Steelers defense and the clutchness of Ben.

Eddie Posted February 6, 2011 Author Posted February 6, 2011 Do the Steelers even have any offensive line players left? For me the Packers are just the better team, I'd be amazed if they didn't win.
92er Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Come on Pittsburgh!! (I have absolutely no interest in American football, but I have a relation who lives near Pittsburgh and I once visited).

RibbleValleyRover Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Packers lead 21-10 at HT. Happy with the performance so far but Collins, Shields, Driver and Woodson all went to the locker room with injuries before HT. Got to get these guys back, especially Collins, Woodson and Shields otherwise it could be a game changer.
dazmaz Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 That has to be the worst half time act I have seem. Not sure if its the mics but to me black eyed peas can not sing! That being said I liked slash played, he has got to be one of the coolest guys ever! Hope the steelers can get back in it, always enjoy a tight finale, packers to win.
HemelRover Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Woodson out is big. 3 penalties so far to start the 2nd half from the Packers. Not good for them, dont get me wrong. Im not complaining.
BPF Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 12:33 of the 4th quarter left.. £10 on the Steelers... Still hoping for that massive comeback... Scrap that... 17 - 28

RibbleValleyRover Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 SUPERBOWL CHAMPS!!!!! Absolutely ecstatic.
BangkokRover Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 SUPERBOWL CHAMPS!!!!! Absolutely ecstatic. [/quote} Now we can all worry if they are going to agree a new pay deal with the players in time for the new season. Wonder if the XFL will come back??
AlanK Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 I`ve always liked American football. Have done for about 25 years. Even played about during my teens. However, the superbowl really is an over hyped atmosphericless load of nonsense. 100,000 fans but they just don`t get going like a football ( soccer ) crowd.
modes98 Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Glad the Packers held strong they deserved it. Won me £60 on a bet from the start of the season and a nice £38 on Jordy Nelson for first TD!
cn174 Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Watched "Superbowl - the Greatest Show on Earth" from BBC Inside Sport before. Pretty good summation of what all the fuss is about really, be quite good to show it to others who don't 'get' NFL! It's on iplayer until Saturday http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00yf50k/Inside_Sport_Superbowl_The_Biggest_Show_On_Earth/

But on a neutral field with most tickets being corporate and costing $800, it never will have the atmosphere. The game itself was good, though, as it has been the last several years.
CaliRoverNYC Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Watched this with 300 other steelers fans in a "Stillers" bar in NYC... Congrats to the Pack, but Ive been gutted for nearly a week now.... Rovers lose to Wigan, Stillers lose XLV, Everyone on the pens is hurt, the US match was cancelled (for good reason though) not a good sports week for me... But I booked my flight and will be at Ewood in April!!!!
sleepyjack Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 So yesterday the CBA expired, the NFLPA decertified and filed an anti-trust lawsuit against the NFL ("Brady, Manning and Brees vs NFL") and the NFL imposed a lockout. There'll still be a draft on April 28th, but drafted players cannot be signed by their teams. And at the moment, there'll be no 2011 NFL season. Hope you get college games on TV in the UK.
Eddie Posted March 12, 2011 Author Posted March 12, 2011 Fairly certain that they will end up sorting it out...the NBA is a different matter.
