of course weve moved on,granted its not all roses up front but if your mrs came back 18 months later because she had been dumped by the giogalo would you take her back ? even if you wernt seeing someone else?

If your talking about the Mrs, then if I still loved her and she was genuinely sorry then perhaps I would take her back.

With regards RSC he would improve the team especially on a pay as you play.

Posted

if it were my mrs and she went to another bloke theres no chance id have her back!

rocky is like grella and hargreaves to much injury potential.

Interesting days ahead.

Roque's old fella is due to come in to discuss this 'pay as you play' idea. If that is the best idea on the agenda then it is a bad day.

And meanwhile the new owners are meeting Kentaro in India to discuss budgets and targets.

Get the feeling some sparks may fly shortly.

Sparky is getting sacked????

I'm all for RSC on a pay as you play.

Surely, somewhere out there, a fit striker can be found.

To sign Roque - on any terms - is on the same level as dredging up Benjani like Rovers did in the last window.

What are scouts paid for? What's the point in having them?

Truly shocking.

On 90k a week, I think not.

Kentaro going to India, if this is before the Raos have talked to Sam and JW it is bang out of order IMO, as it suggests that players will be forced on the management, I take Nickos comment "sparks will fly" will no doubt be coming from Sam

I see your point. But he can score goals in the EPL, has played already with most of our first team as well.

IF and IF he can be kept fit again he's a great striker and a far more potent threat than Benjani has ever been.

We do seem to be linked persistently with the same players over and over, so you do have to wonder about our scouts at times. But they've unearthed one or two to be proud of over the years. I do wonder how closely our match analysis team and the scouts work with each other at Rovers?

City will subsidize him ala Bellamy.

I also thought it was aimed at Sam, but it was more entertaining to twist it to sparky.

Bit strange that Sam said he does not know yet how much money he has got to spend in January (can't help with planning) - when do we think he will be told - presumably after this Kentaro/SEM meeting?

what is the point of having new owners, if this is the best we can come up with. Sam will be furious, if Kentaro are going to dictate who we have to sign. bloody ridiculous if that is what is about to happen

Santa Cruz has managed to stay fit for one season in his career. He has scored goals in one season in his career. It was great having him and we made a great profit and that is how the story should end.

Putting Benjani and Roque in the same sentence is an insult.

Absolutely.

To do so shows ignorance and a lack of knowledge towards both players

Nicko, Will Big Sam and John Williams be at this meeting between Roa brothers, Kentaro and SEM?

TBH, you would this so!!! Sure BS should be decided who we sign not Jerome Anderson and Kentaro! I don't have a problem if they are saying about how about this player or that player BUT NOT DECIDED WHO WE SIGN!!!

Could the meeting be about good young and up coming players in Sweden and Denmark and about good marketing and sponsorship deals?

If this was the summer I think I would have a different perspective as we could adapt to a new players nuances. January is a ball ache time to buy players, inflated prices, will they fit in quickly, cultural issues and so on make it an awful time to sign players if you are looking to step-up.

With City being so desperate to get shut of some of their players we could get a bargain. Low fee, pay as you play ala Saha and its not a bad deal. Ideally you'd want him on loan till the summer, but that may not be possible. We all know he can play with our current crop and we know IF he can be kept fit he's a top draw striker in this league. That in itself makes this an attractive proposition. Just look at the likes of Zigic, Gyan strikers who you would have though would have slotted straight into the league and yet are not. We need signings that can hit the ground running and RSC has the potential to do this. We are also the club that kept him fit for that season, we maybe able to do it again. I think for those reasons its well worth exploring as we cannot be signing a striker and then waiting 12 months plus for him to find his feet. With the league the way it is the team that gets their January signings right will be smiling at the end of it.

I'm not convinced if we are looking for a more creative type whether we will one within these shores (money), so having a striker come in who knows the crack can only help. This role is also a better choice for bringing in the untried player as we have Dunn who provided he's fit is a more than competent player.

One player I am keen for us to take a look at is definitely Ireland, poor lad never wanted to leave City and its obviously hitting him hard. We would be able to bring him back to the area and hopefully with that his head could be put straight. He'd be fantastic in the centre of our midfield and he has the added bonus of having spent some time with RSC as well. But it remains to be seen whether Venky's would/will pay that kinda money or whether he would want to come here? Fee and wages would be huge for us and even with the takeover I doubt we can afford it, we'll see.

Agree, very well summarised.

Something I fear will be happening soon.

Nicko, has Big Sam aired his views yet on the expected involvement of Kentaro?

If Krancjar is really available for 3m we should bite there hands off at that price.

A replacement for Dunn is the most important position I feel, and if we can snag RSC back for cheap, t'would be a pretty good window

I could be wrong but wasn't Roque basically as unfit in the first season we had him than in the second? Just that he was more willing to take short term pain killers and the like when he first arrived. If that's the case a pay as you play deal would suit me fine.
