MarkBRFC71 Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Barca looking awesome so far. Wish Rovers could play football like that - an absolute joy to watch!

beerwins Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 It's just simple triangle pass and move.......................with the best players in the world of course Real look like amatuers in comparison.
jim mk2 Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 And how would Barcelona be playing with next to nothing spent on their squad over the past 4 seasons ? For your next daft comment ........
MarkBRFC71 Posted November 29, 2010 Author Posted November 29, 2010 Messi is far and away the best player in the game at the mo. I can't recall seeing anyone since Maradona able to run at pace with the ball under such close control. If anything Messi's even quicker. Carvalho VERY lucky there - Messi got booked for getting elbowed! For your next daft comment ........ I'd say you weren't a miserable old tosser. But that would be lying eh Jim? I wish I could see Rovers play like that but am fully aware of the reasons why that's not possible.
Amo Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 And how would Barcelona be playing with next to nothing spent on their squad over the past 4 seasons ? For your next daft comment ........ So you WOULDN'T like to see Rovers play like Barca? He didn't mean it literally. Yeah, Messi's in a class of his own. Hilarious to think people have been comparing Gareth Bale to him recently.
imy9 Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Ah come on was that really a proper elbow, worthy of going down? I'm a bit gutted want Real and Mourinho to knock Barca off their perch, realistically it will take at least 6 months before this becomes a Mourinho team.
LeChuck Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 I'm a bit gutted want Real and Mourinho to knock Barca off their perch Why? Mourinho's teams are boring to watch. I hope Barca's style prevails in that battle. Barca winning La Liga and Arsenal (or even Spurs!) winning the PL would be a triumph for football imo.
beerwins Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 The commentators were telling us that Messi is not one to dive, I beg to differ, he barely brushed him and he dropped like a leaf. I like to see refs telling players to get up and keep the game flowing but I think this one is going a bit overboard.
MarkBRFC71 Posted November 29, 2010 Author Posted November 29, 2010 So you WOULDN'T like to see Rovers play like Barca? He didn't mean it literally. Yeah, Messi's in a class of his own. Hilarious to think people have been comparing Gareth Bale to him recently. Exactly. And Barca likely would still be playing that way even with nothing to spend - the ethos right through their entire academy system is exactly the same as the first team, and every player is taught and encouraged to play the 'Barca' way. Hence players like Puyol, Xavi, Iniesta, Pedro, Messi, and Busquets coming through the ranks and slotting right into the team. Even with nothing to spend on 'big' players, there's still a conveyor belt of talent to pick from.
MarkBRFC71 Posted November 29, 2010 Author Posted November 29, 2010 3-0 David Villa. Can't see Madrid coming back into this now. 4-0, Villa again!
RibbleValleyRover Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Brilliant play between the best player in the world and currently the best striker in the world.
BuckyRover Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Iniesta is in the left wing forward position. Epic.
sam_rovers Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Big Sam is reported to be awaiting the call to take over Real Madrid after their shambolic performance in the Classico
JAL Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Every Barcelona player controls the ball, passes it accurately to a team mate, and keep the ball moving all over the park. Then on top of this they have runners, running in behind the defenders with precision passes played into their path, easy aint it Are you watching Allardyce!
imy9 Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Why? Mourinho's teams are boring to watch. I hope Barca's style prevails in that battle. Barca winning La Liga and Arsenal (or even Spurs!) winning the PL would be a triumph for football imo. Have you watched real this year they are playing good football, exquisite at times, Barca are in a different league though. I love Mourinho, inspirational manager who can motivate like no other manager and can get average sides like Porto and Inter(in comparison to other top Euro clubs) to be better than what they are, spending relatively little in the process. I guarantee Real will beat Barca in the return match.
MarkBRFC71 Posted November 29, 2010 Author Posted November 29, 2010 Have to say in 30-odd years of watching football this Barca team are the most incredible team I can remember, comprising some of the best individual players, playing the most sublime football. Simply majestic.
imy9 Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Iniesta is in the left wing forward position. Epic. Thought it was villa and Pedro on the wings with messi in the middle?
Mr. E Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 I pray to God no one in our team is watching this and thinking "well that puts our result in perspective, we shouldn't feel too bad".
BuckyRover Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Thought it was villa and Pedro on the wings with messi in the middle? It's very fluid.
MarkBRFC71 Posted November 29, 2010 Author Posted November 29, 2010 Yet another big game in which Cristiano Ronaldo has failed to deliver. No debate about the best in the world for me - Messi by a country mile.
brian_gallagher85 Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 I've said it for over a year now and this game just confirms it, the Premier League is now lightyears behind La Liga!
joey_big_nose Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Quite seriously this Barcelona display might be the finest performance I have ever seen. Attacking sublime, defending absolutely outstanding.
Backroom Tom Posted November 29, 2010 Backroom Posted November 29, 2010 Ridiculously sublime, it's barely even the same sport that we see here (through no real fault of our own) Magnificent
Herbie6590 Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 I guess we can empathise with Real Madrid tonight....difficult away journey to team at top of the league....outspoken manager not everyone's cup of tea...one sided demolition....fans embarrassed...clear evidence of a lack of investment in the team for several years coming home to roost .....oh, wait a minute....
