PAFELL
£16.5m for Jones and we waste £6.5m on Roque? The man is a genius. Loads of confusion and conflicting stories / article about this transfer (Jones) Where's Nicko when you need him. There must been differing developments going on throughout today. dan323007
Sure I read somewhere recently that City were prepared to cancel the contracts of several fringe players to get them off the wage bill - RSC was one of them. I'd take a punt on him for a free, reduced salary of course!!!
RibbleValleyRover
Kamy you heard anything about Kean wanting to waste £6.5m of our transfer budget on Santa Cruz?

Pelio
Nedum Onuoha would an excellent signing for us. can play CB and RB. I Agree, could be a good signing. Looks like Onouha could have already snubbed Sunderland; http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Manchester-City-transfer-news-Nedum-Onuoha-to-reject-6million-bid-from-Sunderland-to-fight-for-his-place-at-Eastlands-after-return-from-loan-article746344.html and we're also possibly interested in Matt Mills of Reading http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Stoke-transfer-news-Matt-Mills-a-target-as-Potters-make-3million-bid-article746375.html
JAL
BLACKBURN intend to seal a knockdown £6.5million move for Manchester City's flop striker Roque Santa Cruz. The Paraguay hitman, 29, was on loan at Ewood Park last season and boss Steve Kean hopes to have cash to splash after selling Phil Jones to Manchester United. Rovers flogged Santa Cruz to City for £17.5m two years ago but the Eastlands outfit are ready to take a huge hit on the injury-plagued striker, who scored only three goals for them. The stumbling block could be his £90,000-a-week wages. Kean is also trailing City players Shaun Wright-Phillips and Nedum Onuoha. http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/notw/nol_sport/1319168/Blackburn-boss-Steve-Kean-wants-Manchester-Citys-Roque-Santa-Cruz.html DOES that not just take the pish out of Rovers fans, not here in Blackburn, but from around the world. Kamy100
Loads of confusion and conflicting stories / article about this transfer (Jones) Where's Nicko when you need him. There must been differing developments going on throughout today. What appears to have happened today is: - Venky's not happy about Jones transfer - Liverpool alerted to these problems and they make a £21 million bid - Venky's/Rovers advisors finally realise that they can not stop Jones transfer, especially as player wants to go there - This evening a slightly amended compromise deal is worked out by United (speculation is that deal is worth £20 million if united win title and England caps) - Deal set to be officially confirmed tomorrow or Monday. Until it is officially confirmed than you never know but it does now look like this saga has come to an end.

Kamy100
Kamy you heard anything and Kean wanting to waste £6.5m of our transfer budget on Santa Cruz? Kean wants RSC, but not sure that Rovers will be prepared to pay £6.5 million, with Jerome Anderson involved with transfers I am sure that he will know what the true Market value of Roque is. T.J.Newton
id prefer we went for players like Matt Mills than unknown forigners, at least you dont have to worry about them having to adapt to a new lifstyle/culture ect..,and there easier to move on if they dont turn out to be prem quality

Man City should pay Rovers to take him. RSC should take a huge paycut if he wants to ome to Rovers. After all there is a not a queue of clubs wanting him. Maybe get venkys to check out RSC contract to see if there is a clause that says, "if plays cr@p whilst on loan, Rovers get him for free".
