I was initially sceptical of McCleish.

But I was speaking to a Rangers fan who said he played anything but dull, dour football in Scotland.

Maybe he was just hamstrung by the financial implications of working at Brum.

He might do quite well. I agree with the poster who said Hughes would be off at the first opportunity. He would probably ditch Utd for Barca after a year.

Financial constraints don't excuse his team being the most cynical, diving cheats i have seen at Ewood in a long time, and that includes some of the "big" clubs who don't ever need to dive and roll around but still do. Birmingham were disgraceful and I can quite understand Villa fans not being happy about the appointment. Getting your team to play attacking football against a load of inferior teams in Scotland hardly says much about your management skills.

+1. Vile team, very happy to see them relegated!

Their performance at Ewood was disgraceful.

Nah, we're opting for the 'punch above our weight' approach in this transfer market.

A little like you did with Phil Jones. Now jog on.

How can you 'punch above your weight' when you're a selling club?!

Jones chose United over us, big wow. We'll see who wins more trophies in the next three years, only then we'll know if he made the right decision. Oh and the biggest losers in the Jones business is you, you lost your best player, jog on

Ngog is worse than Grabbi.

Nolan would have been a good addition for a season or 2 given the lack of quality we have in CM.

For a club that's won the PL title :tu:

You paid seven million for Grabbi who must've scored around five goals? Ngog only cost us 1.5 million.

And you say we talk about our history, sigh.

Not even sure that's factually correct. Possibly the player with the most potential, but even then I'm not 100% sure.

'Selling club' ay. What happened to that fantastic midfield of yours again- Alonso, Mascherano, Benayoun et al? Oh and Torres. Players want to win trophies and play in the CL. So like us, your history means nowt these days.

My opinion, followed by Nzonzi, Samba and Olsson

Xabi, Masch and Yossi all got sold under the Hicks and Gillete ownership. That says it all, Torres leaving was the effect of the previous owners. He wanted quick success, which he thought he'd get at Chelsea. Don't be silly, you shouldn't mention your history and ours in the same sentence, just doesnt make sense :)

I'd say the biggest winners in all of this is us?

United offered 16m for a player, who could flop like Jay McEverly. We made United pay up to 4 million pounds more.

At the same time, the player could become the next England captain. In which case, we got a fair price for him, and Liverpool lost out on him.

At the same time, Liverpool are now more than likely going to start next season with Carragher still around their first team (which is dangerous to start with, especially with players of Junior Hoillett's quality in this league).

So, from winners to losers, taking everything into consideration, it's either:

United->Us->Liverpool

Or

Us->Liverpool-> United, depending on Jones' successes.

My opinion, followed by Nzonzi, Samba and Olsson

Hoillett->Samba->Robinson->Olsson->J. Jones-> N'Zonzi.

Just to sort your wrong opinion out.

Yawn. 'Liverpool Way', 'club based on socialist ideals', 'spirit of Shankly', 'YNWA' etc etc.

Carra is still capable of competing at the top level. It's who partners him, we're confident in Carra. He might have lost the pace he once had but he can still read the game. I love Dan Agger but his injury record isn't good at all, we have Skrtel and Kelly who can both play there. We'll sign Scott Dann I reckon, a Scouser :)

How sad have you got to be to come to another team forum to try and wind people up, perhaps you should get a job or enrol in college, do something more productive with your time.

Go look at my post'. Where am I winding up? Just cuz you don't agree with what I have to say? Oaf!

I do wonder why a thread on a BLACKBURN ROVERS messageboard, has been infilitrated, nee dominated by a Liverpool fan bearing the user name of one of our stands, we're flattered

But Scott Dann hasnt achieved anything like what Jones has, your settling for second best. Teams target Carragher, he's no longer good enough but idolised simply because he's a "fan". Out of interest, where you at Anfield in '95, when the kop sang "stand up for the champions" with us? Great day out.

How do you work that one out? Jones hasn't achieved anything yet, but he has the potential to achieve a lot.

Dann has achieved more than Jones but only by virtue of being older.

Like Kenny says, the most important players are the players who are at the club and the players who want to play for us. He did'nt, we move on. When's the last time you saw Carra make a mistake that cost us a goal? Nope, I wasn't. I was at Ewood Park when Rush score a hat trick in the league cup though.

How do I work that out? Scott Dann isn't in the squad of the second biggest club in the world. Phil Jones is. Scott Dann had been relegated, Phil Jones hasn't. Scott Dann hasn't been described as the future of English Football, Phil Jones is the future captain.

From BBC:

'Spurs were unsuccessful in persuading injury-plagued centre-back Woodgate, 31, to agree a pay-as-you-play deal.'

I mean, how bloody greedy and ungreatful can one player be?

I fail to see what he owes spurs? He may want to have a change and be in the first team. it is not always about greed.

Grabbi was dire, so it shows you how highly I rate ngog, who is playing in a team that creates a lot more chances.

I was merely retorting to your comment about a club of our size. For a club of our size we haven't done that badly. Maybe a city of your size should be top 4 really. At least you have a manager with a track record of winning things now ;)

If United come in for Scott Dann, he'll move to them. Whether he's a "scouser" or not. Liverpool are no longer a force. I have no idea - the only time I watch Liverpool is when they are playing Rovers. And Carragher has looked shaky the last three times.

Not quite the same feeling I'm sure youll appreciate.

Just because Jones chose United doesn't mean everyone will? Adam is choosing us over United and Spurs? The last time you beat us, none of the goals were Carra's fault. Soto, Johnson and Skrtel were at fault. Your'e a @#/? football fan then aren't you? We are no longer a force? Ha ha ha, go say that to United, Chelsea, City, who we all beat under Kenny. We're back, I don't need to tell you we're a force again, the table will do the talking next season

We've achieved things that you can only DREAM of :)

How old was Grabbi? Ngog is still young, if he starts he'll easily score 12-15 league goals

Well...depends on how you define 'achieve' I guess. I wouldn't class any of those as achievements. In my view, Phil Jones' main achievement so far are his England U21 caps. Beyond that he hasn't really achieved anything.

I din't know but I've seen plenty of fouls in the last season or so that should have resulted in sendings off because he's been slow to get to the ball or misread the play and they could well have cost not just a goal but the game.

ANOTHER deluded scouser.....you wont win the league anytime soon, Kenny or not!

Phil Jones is the future captain.

When did Capello say this??

Looks like your dreaming mate - you beat those teams, big deal - they ALL finished above you! We beat ur lot, does that make us the better team??

As for achieving dreams - we won the premier league, thats a very real dream for Liverpool.

Adams will choose Liverpool because he wouldnt get in the United side....whats that say!
