I've heard other things about Barton as well. Apparently, when he was at City, he was on the team coach after a game and it stopped because a kid (I don't know what age) wanted to get a shirt signed by all the players. So it was passed around all the players as they autographed it until it came to Barton where he just smeared food on it (I don't know what food). Pure scumbag who will be in jail for a long time soon enough.

Birmingham have granted Norwich City permission to speak to their manager Chris Hughton

I thought Aston Villa was talking to Hughton, don't know if Villa hired anyone yet. Next season, we will see the same relegation struggle in the top flight but it's probably good the Rovers got that out of the way, agony and anticipation all that was. Would have been the same this upcoming year.

Paul Lambert from Norwich has become Villa manager. Norwich now talking to Hughton. I predict Wigan, Southampton and Norwich or Swansea to go down. Agree that it was better to go down last year if we kept Kean/Venky's for the upcoming season. No point being in the Premier League if you're only gonna win 8 games a year. The Championship will be ok, it's just League 1 I will have a problem with.

Salgado is a hero: Thanks for that. Of course, Lambert went to Villa I remembered once upon retiring last night, Hughton could go to Norwich, he's a good manager but I think Swansea and Norwich will have tougher times this year. Norwich may be too much of a forced fit for Hughton but Birmingham certainly did do well with Chris Hughton.

Clarke is rated very, very highly. Has been touted for a few manager's jobs in the past. Obviously doesn't mean he'll be a success, as most assistants/coaches seem to fail to make the step up at the highest level, but it could work.

Clarke confirmed as West Brom boss.

Becoming a head coach in my own right has always been an ambition of mine and I feel I have served my apprenticeship," Clarke said.

"I've done everything I could as an assistant. I'm absolutely delighted to be given this opportunity.

It's always been an ambition of Keans, but Clarke didn't have to stab anyone in the back like Kean (allegedly) to get the job.

Doesn't affect us but it looks like Bt have got the rights to 38 live games next season and sky 116

As a BT employee I'm pleased as the vision offering is currently lacking
