BuckyRover Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 We win one game and the poll changes drastically...nowt as fickle as football fans! Sack him after a 4-3 win against Arsenal? That would be a bit odd to say the least. I can't imagine it being a selling point to any prospective managers.
Mattyblue Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Kean on Radio 5 Live at 8pm - media overdrive at the moment for our leader! Haha, bloody hell! Eee remember the days we had zero media profile!

JAL Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 People saying that the Arsenal result was "lucky"; does that mean it's evened itself out; as the Everton game was unlucky? The Everton game wasnt unlucky because we couldnt put the ball in the back of the net with some glorious opportunities to do so. We have to remember that it was Arsenal players that scored two of our goals on saturday, two goals that should never really have been. If Formica can ever score a goal then the town of Blackburn should declare it a bank holiday so as to celebrate this amazing achievement after his powder puff attempts over the past three games not wanting to put any added pressure onto the lad.

Formica scored against Wolves Jal... The pen that everton got was that a pen? Unlucky then no? We hit the bar and post, unlucky no? As I said at the time the counter attack for the fourth was as good a counter as you are likely to see and deserved a goal, Yaks first was also a cracking goal...no hoof ball in sight lol.
Billy Castell Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 One thing you can say about Kean, he has titanium bollards. Most would want to hide under the criticism he has had. He seems to have developed a real brass neck after this weekend.

Yakubu's first goal was real quality, loved it! how the keeper rushed out to narrow the angle, to suddenly see the ball creeping past him, top top quality from the through ball to the finish by the Yak. More please ! That counter attack was one man alone and he'd been placed on the bench for which you have to ask what on earth is Kean thinking especially when he also puts him at left back. Formica scored against Wolves Jal... Yes! but he hasnt scored since and hes had plenty of opportunity to score.
roverandout Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 he has developed a brass neck because we won, otherwise he would be slinked off somewhere in a dark corner! (or is that your point?)
chris Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Listened to Kean's interview He did ok, he's very hurt by the protests, ironic considering how much it didn;t bother him the week before with the open letter. I thik Keans made all the wrong moves really (previously) and has shown a lot of effort to rebuild in the last week, but I'm not really interested anymore, I think its fair to judge him on results and we beat Arsenal, he has put in a lot of effert meeting fans doing interviews. It was put to him that Hughes, Sam would have never met the fans (ego) and the only reason he has is because of his lack of success as a player and post retirement. Anyway have to respect Kean a little bit more, even if I have concerns, will let the results do the talking now.
booth Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 I remember the Liverpool game last season, which was a false dawn in so many ways. I'm not going to suddenly hail Kean as the new messiah. A consistent run of results is the only thing that will convince me that he's the future of BRFC.
roverandout Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 jal, you cant knock formica, he has played reasonably well, its not his job to score goals, hes there to make them, albeit he should chip in with a few.

Football fans, well actually people are very fickle by nature. The site, or Blackburn Rovers fans are not isolated cases of fickleness.

Backroom DE. Posted September 19, 2011 Backroom Posted September 19, 2011 One thing you can say about Kean, he has titanium bollards. Most would want to hide under the criticism he has had. He seems to have developed a real brass neck after this weekend. Indeed, if he wasn't trying to spin everything super-positive all the time I'd actually feel some respect for him. As it stands I just feel irritated, especially after his smug comments about the protestors and his failure to admit he deserved a lot of the stick he was getting. It's a shame because after the Arsenal result, seeing what it meant to him and the owners, I felt like I might feel less irritated towards him if he'd just show a little humility. I do feel a bit warmer towards the owners now, but after Kean's post-match comments I feel as cold towards him as ever and wouldn't care if he was booted out the door tomorrow morning. Ultimately, though, it doesn't matter. If he gets results I don't care what he's like as a person - I can put up with being annoyed by him as long as Rovers are doing OK. If we're doing badly, though, my patience will run thin with him very quickly

Despite all his interviews, or (Lap with the Trophy as someone said to me tonight) He is still not coming across any better IMO, Yes we beat Arsenal, so does that mean the last 10 months don't count? He has said he will speak with me in person, they have my number, Still no call, Will he make that call? Many who Marched on Saturday doubt it, Will we have the opportunty to speak to him open and honestly? If so will our questions be screened first? Will he wait until he puts together 6 to 7 wins on the bounce before taking up the appointment he has agreed to? Ok some may say he is busy doing his PR at the moment, but are we not busy also who went on the March? Should he be looking to accomodate us asap, so issues can be put to bed? or should he just say sod you lot I have 98%, and don't care what upsets the other 2%. Lots of Marchers want more action and have emailed me today asking what phase two is? I'm don't change my mind like the weather cos its fact we have has some great results against United, Arsenal and Liverpool and raised our game for those matches, but its the games against lesser club where we should be putting out a similar level of performance to get consistancy. My own personal questions will surround the past, present and future, and have no wish for them to be recorded ect, as I just want the answers as does many other fans.

You want him sacked like the rest of the idiots on that march. He needs time with HIS team. The team that he is building have played ONLY 4 games together and you want him gone. How stupid of you. If I was Kean, I'd ignore the 1% that turned up, and most definitely ignore you for setting up this ridiculous protest to begin with.
47er Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 That was the most annoying bit of what he said. The whole point of protesting as it was done was so that in the stadium there was no dissent and the fans were wholly behind the team on the pitch. I'd still like to see the back of him and I was one of those who have tried to give him time. The decisions he made about team selection on Saturday had even me, who knows little about tactics team selection etc, worried before the game and the way Givet was taken apart in the first half was frightening. Just like De Gaulle famously said "France,c'est moi" so Kean believes he personifies Rovers----------ie you can't support Rovers but be against him.
