Mercer Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Where did you hear that? Hope not, I would hope it is Jones. Has been 'doing the rounds' for the last couple of days.
davulsukur Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Depends on who started the twitter rumour. If it came from an "agent" its probably bullplop.
Mercer Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Depends on who started the twitter rumour. If it came from an "agent" its probably bullplop. Someone connected to Nugent (think him and Lawrence are mates) flagged it yesterday. TBH, didn't take much notice as I think Lawrence is 33ish and past his sell by date - thought it the usual speculation.

Lawrence is 31 years old. decent winger but we already have King, Judge, Taylor and I thought Nunes would get more playing time. Nunes is talented winger but maybe too lightweight. impact sub

Isn't he the guy who injured himself badly at home by dropping something on his foot, or similar ?

blueboy3333 Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Signing due today, according to Gary Bowyer. when did he say this? apologies if i've missed something obvious.
T.J.Newton Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Yet another quality(for this league) relatively low risk signing(if Lawrence is the man!) as long as its only a 1-2 year contract and sensible wages, cant really grumble, yes we need to shift a few players on, but if the venkys are going to keep bank rolling signings in the meantime, I'm not complaining, we're already in a financial pit and the only way out is going to be promotion and well only get that by signing good players(bit of a catch 22 really, but stuff it all or nothing I say, the club will always exist in some form regardless)
Guest Norbert Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 That's him. Fell over his dog. Imagine the embarrasment if he fell over Kean's dog. I'd not sign him myself. He was good enough a few seasons ago, but has clearly gone stale and offers nothing much.
Guest Norbert Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 You'd be moody about winning the Euro millions though JAL. You'd worry about you and your family going bonkers and ending up on the scrapheap. Let's see how these guys play before condemning them all.
chris_h Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 These signings are far from looking good. It seems that you aren't going to be happy unless the club are spending millions on wages or fees. That having been said, I'd be disappointed if we signed Lawrence. He doesn't fit the young hungry, point-to-prove model that we seemed to be following and which seems sensible in our position. Got to back Bowyer though, if he wants him then fair enough.
T.J.Newton Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 but he does fit into the 'experienced senior players with a recentish history of getting promotion' bracket, that we are lacking in. and he had a decent season at paok by the looks of it-
chaddyrovers Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 These signings are far from looking good. who would you be signing then??? please give names??? you don't like signings of Taylor and Judge then??? 2 very good and smart signings by Bowyer
Mani Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 It's not Vaughan he's on his honeymoon in BoraBora!! Absolutely nothing wrong with the signings so far!! The people who question them are just being lazy PL-ites who don't know a player so assume they ain't upto it!! If any one of you has watched Judge or Taylor play in the last 12 months and has a valid point then ill take it...if not then you need to relax and stop mulling over washed up premier league has beens!!
LeChuck Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Liam Lawrence is a very good player. He'd easily get into our first choice eleven and would hold down a place in the squad if we went up.
Lhrover Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 I always though liam lawrence was decent, not a world beater, but certainly no keith andrews
T.J.Newton Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 he could be our new Hignet and judge=Mahon, Taylor=David Thompson(or visa versa!)
roversfan99 Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 We don't have much pace and he wouldn't add to that, although he does have experience and a good right foot. Maybe he could do a job if cheap enough. If we get him and Jones, ahead of the back 4, I think we could have a few different systems: Williamson Jones King Rochina Taylor Rhodes Lawrence Williamson Jones Taylor Best Rhodes Judge Williamson Jones Rochina Rhodes King 4-2-3-1, 4-4-2, 4-3-3, it is good to have the personnel to play different systems.
chaddyrovers Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 In this morning LT, this fourth signing will be utility player under contract at another club. plus Bowyer wants a link up with Man U and bring talented loan players to Ewood Park.
walk down bolton road Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Imagine the embarrasment if he fell over Kean's dog. I'd not sign him myself.
