onlyonejackwalker Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago (edited) Shit or bust, all or nothing, win or lose, kamikazee knockabout two effing days codswallop. I was a Rovers fan in the 70's, an England cricket fan watching Haynes, Greenidge, Richards, Lloyd, Marshall, Garner, Croft, Holding, Roberts in the 80's, the Atherton years, the Graham Taylor years, the Steve Mclaren years, the Sven years, the Nasser Hussain years, the Venky years. I don't mind losing. I'm USED to it. What i do mind is gifting victory to the opposition at a professional level. Two fucking days. Seriously??? We've got to be better than that. Crawley 60 tests averaging just over 30. Its mind boggling how he keeps his job. Driving on the up not moving his feet time and time and time again when he has just walked to the crease. Against the worlds best. Thick as pig shit. Root and others also. Players caught behind, or in the deep hooking. Hooking!!!! Why can't we just leave anything not on the stumps? And duck? Its so frustrating. Gav, you'd be going mental if Rovers were 5-0 down before half time. Then recovering to 5-4, but ending up losing 14-7. Even if we did win 10-2 one week against some abject mess at home. A five day test over in two days. It's cowardly. Thats what it is. Cowardly and spineless, spun and parcelled as brave and couragious for the unwitting and foolhardy. Edited 18 hours ago by onlyonejackwalker 1 Quote

Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted 5 hours ago Moderation Lead Posted 5 hours ago The bit that frustrated me the most was that I felt there were three wickets we gave away that were preventable, by just leaving it. As it was, they went for the shots and ended up out. Absolute basics. Quote

They are all shoulder high about 2 ft outside the off stump. Absolutely no need to play at any of them. Significantly only one player was out bowled, all the rest were caught. Just let the bowlers tire themselves out. Edited 3 hours ago by Tyrone Shoelaces Quote
jim mk2 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Boycott writing in the Sunday papers today said the way England play is "brainless" and he "can't take the team seriously anymore" “They never learn, because they never listen to anyone outside their own bubble, because they truly believe their own publicity." “A 40-run lead on a fast, bouncy, low-scoring pitch was huge and, with Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope together at one stage, England were in charge at effectively 100 for one. But as exciting as this England team can be, they are always only a blink of an eye away from self-destruction. “Chasing balls away from your body on fast, bouncy pitches is fraught with danger. It’s like Russian roulette. Save those shots for low, slow surfaces where the odds are in a batsman’s favour. “When the Aussies get stuck for a wicket all they have to do is go fishing. Dangle the bait and wait for a bite. Our lot can’t resist." Who would argue with that? Quote
