The old Railway Embankment was an amazing place to watch football from. Double jeopardy from the Bolton fans and the state of the higher up terracing (deep wooden steps IIRC).

Not as amazing as the popular embankment at the old Huddersfield RL ground (Fartown). I went there once with my dada and, although that bit was closed, a steward took us up for a look.

@Tyrone Shoelaces - I'm guessing you've been on there as your Hornets history is longer than mine!

Yeah I’ve been on Fartown. The embankment was absolutely huge.

I remember Hornets playing there in a Challenge Cup tie. We were right by the right hand corner flag at the end we were attacking. Hudds were on the attack on the far side from us and they threw out a pass to their winger almost on our line. Our centre intercepted the ball and set off for the try line. He made a bee line for where me and my mate was stood. He was weaving around as he ran in a diagonal from one corner to another. It seems like half the Hudds team were chasing him. They caught him just as he made the try line and he carried a couple of them over when scored. He was gasping like a landed fish right in front of us.
