I wonder if those such things were proposed over here, would they get the same positive reception from some quarters on the basis of broadening the game's appeal and appealing to overseas audiences...? You witness the reaction of fans up and down England when 6 PL, 3 Italian and 3 Spanish tried to set up an European Super League Promotion and relegation is part and parcel of football 47 minutes ago, arbitro said: Reading through these posts it appears that you are the only one who likes the idea of pitch side interviews and dressing room cameras. I think that ratio would be reflected throughout football as I believe the vast majority will see it for what it is - an unnecessary, superfluous sales gimmick. Probably cos I open to new ideas and trying these things out. Plus I seen it for years in NBA players/head coaches during a game or showing locker room footage during Rugby league games or speaking to F1 team principles during F1 qualifying sessions and races. Other sports have done so why not football. Let's be honest it going a small bit of dressing room footage and nothing more probably about 10 to 15 seconds clips of what is happening in the dressing room and a couple of interviews with players who have been sub. Not that much of a change isn't it. 47 minutes ago, arbitro said: It wasn't the football authorities in England who wanted VAR. The clubs wanted it and fund it. Had it not been for Covid it would have been in the Championship a few seasons ago. It has it's bad points but has also righted many wrongs which is the main purpose of it. Still the game can be stopped for a number of minutes, no communication to the fans. In International Rugby Union you can hear what the ref and VAR person are saying. So why can't Football do that Edited 6 hours ago by chaddyrovers Quote

I don't see any upside at all in this. Your view is your choice but for the majority of football supporters it's unnecessary and gimmicky. Quote

It’s just the usual banal platitudes. 1 Quote
Wheelton Blue Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) Cameras in the dressing room? That'll go down well when we've just lost 2-0 at home on a Tuesday night in January. Designed purely for the supposed benefit of the Sky fraternity. Gimmickry nonsense. Edited 1 hour ago by Wheelton Blue 2 Quote
rigger Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Would the dressing-room interviews be carried out in the womens game as well ? Quote

I mean, we've all seen how 'insightful' ex and current footballers are as pundits - and that's with time to prepare. Banal platitudes might be optimistic. Let's say a player does kick off in the heat of the moment - what does that achieve beyond titillating the redtop crowd? It's a terrible idea with little to no redeemable qualities. Just another step in transforming sport into pantomime. 3 Quote

davulsukur Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I'm not sure who gets any benefits of listening to a random Sunderland player, who's just been subbed, giving his opinion as to why Sunderland are 5-0 down at the Etihad after an hour. Players will be limited on what they can/can't say. Same goes for the any half time footage of the dressing room. Sky can't show Pep losing his shit when his team are 1 down and he's going ballistic at his players. Quote
