Venky’s, HMRC…The Plot Thickens ?

I know what @Paul Mellelieu is trying to say and he’s making a valid point. There are no guarantees of anything with administration. It’s easy to be so blasé about the effects. With Admin Rovers would drop like a stone.

The preferable route out of this is what I posted earlier. That’s for Venkys to do their utmost to find suitable owners and hand the club over. I’m not saying it’s even possible to find anyone who could come close to putting the money in that they have done. I doubt that it is.

It’s time for them to move on for sure. Administration won’t be something rovers would recover from for a very long time in my opinion - if ever.

Might - because (as you said) there’s no guarantees of anything with administration.

Seems as though most posters would prefer the club going into administration and all that might come with that, than the owners putting the club up for sale.

thats just a show of anger rather than what’s best for the club.

I think most have probably given up on this being a realistic possibility.

That's both a show of anger AND what's best for the club.

They refuse to put the club up for sale.

Administration is the only realistic option to move forward.

I'm holding out hope they will sell up in the summer. It feels like the only realistic time they'd ever think of selling us. A managed exit, Indian government forcing their hand etc.

Surely even they realise this situation isn't sustainable. Post the first few years of their ownership I've never bought into the conspiracy theories. I've accepted its a combination of pride and them being so mega rich the losses make no difference to them. But if they don't choose to sell up within the next 12 months and the funding situation persists, it has me questioning the motives and whether they are hiding something.

Losses of around 20m started immediately after the takeover, they have refused at every juncture to allow anybody who has the slightest shred of dignity and self respect the chance to be in a position where they will have any sort of control and they're now under investigation by a government department that specialises in money laundering.

Not really hard to see why people have been asking questions and speculating over the years. The money laundering one has always been a suspicion.

Seneca seem to still exist, but they've probably moved on and invested in different companies after Venky's told them no. I don't think they'd be involved should it all go tits up. If they did want to return, maybe they'd pick up the pieces at a cheaper price if we went into administration or something.

I think if all incoming fees in their time are weighted against all outgoing ones it might be fairly even, i know it was a few years ago.

So they've never really actually invested properly in the playing squad and we aren't signing now because we ain't sold anybody. Last example was the Armstrong profit eventually being spent on Hyam, Brittain etc and the loose change from Kaminsky was spaffed on Leo.

So it's always been sell to buy really or they'll tip up in the budget for bigger loan wages at times.

It very much looks like the club was always intended to be a money pit to chuck 10 million or so per year of spare company profits into and that suits their business accounts. In return they get to own an English sporting institution, get some global advertising - even know - and more importantly to some of them something to play with.

Of course it all went a wildly out of control and that's well documented but since the audited in post relegation the fundamentals stayed the same until now.

Chuck in a certain amount of profit, play around with it, still get a bit of limited advertising and publicity, only buy when players are sold.

And that's it and it will never change even if they find a way around current problems because that is and always has been their intended model.

For what it's worth I don't think people would necessarily prefer administration to Venky's selling the club, a lot of people probably just see it as the only realistic way of the current owners ever departing. There have been many times when you'd have expected them to entertain a sale - when we were relegated from the PL, when we had cashflow problems in 2015, when we got relegated in 2016/17, and now with the current problems - but they have never even hinted they are interested in selling and from what we've heard from people who did attempt to make offers of either part or complete ownership some years ago, outright rejected any advances.

So, I think it's mainly down to administration being the most realistic option to force them out of the club. I assume pretty much everyone would, ideally, prefer to avoid administration if it was at all possible.

100% this. In an ideal world they would sell the club and release us from this perpetual torture. However, this is highly unlikely so administration to rid us of the Venky cancer is the most realistic alternative.

Only highlight of today was audible Venky’s Out chants in NO1, been a long, long time since I’ve heard that. And it was the owners they went after not the manager as is the norm.

Was it the whole ground? No, but then it never has been. But it was a decent number and interestingly it wasn’t followed by a load of other fans telling them to shut it.

From small acorns…

And the happy clappers gave us fuck off ya pricks

I’m just down from you and nobody did around me, some clapped, some nodded. But at the end of the day plenty of folk said ‘fuck off ya pricks’ even in 2011/12, some are just beyond reasoning with.

But talking to people today the tide is definitely turning.
