Mattyblue Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Not incredible to me, just standard for a lot of fans, they live in a team only bubble . 1 Quote

Eustace (I think) had Birmingham in the play off positions when he was sacked there, had us in the play off positions when the management forced him out here and already has Derby within striking distance of the play offs. There's a bit of a pattern there........ I get the rivalry aspect but personally Id save the derision for ex coaches who were crap for us. So by the same token I guess you'd say we should have been waving plastic snakes (if they made them in those days) at Furphy, Lee, Smith, Kendall, Mackay, Dalglish, Hughes etc? Erm, let's not forget the first season he was here, with a decent squad that nearly got relegated - how many games did it take for him to win at home? He did well until Xmas last season and then left for better pay, more resources and a shorter drive to work. A very good coach who was always passing through. There were plastic snakes in the 70s as I had one. Never felt the need to bring it to games and don't now. Edited 14 hours ago by Paul Mellelieu 1 Quote

Thick as f*ck. The majority of our current fanbase are an absolute embarrassment, just like the goons in the boardroom and the weakest manager & squad in our recent history. #VenkysOut is all that matters. If you’re not behind it, you’re part of the problem. Our fan base is f****ng deluded and tapped in the head unfortunately. They give stick to anyone and everyone and don’t do enough to even slightly hurt the ones above. Edited 14 hours ago by Elrovers 1 Quote

JDT for all his pleasing attributes definitely WAS taking us down. Eustace managed to stop the rot and kept us up. 1 Quote

It's happening already. 15 years is a long time and rapidly sees a fanbase change. Out with the old in with the new That last point is the one that worries me. Would be interesting to know the age profile of the people who are leading any continued protests. The danger with the slow, and apparently, managed decline of the club is that the fan base is like the proverbial 'frog in water being heated up'. For any new fans the current situation is normalised. I remember clubs like York and Hereford playing in the old 2nd Division - how many of their current fanbase think that's where they belong or can realistically get back to. If Venky's stay in ownership for another 15 years then we risk going the same way, despite the fact our history is far more glorious than those clubs. 3 1 Quote

I glanced around at the Etonians game, the age group was a mature crowd , weary looking like they had seen it all and looked fed up. Hoping something will change soon because we're on the verge of being diluted for good Quote
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Eustace probably felt, just the same as JDT, that the project had suddenly changed Chaddy...not what they were promised or led to believe when they signed contracts. Who do you think was doing any lying?🙄 Quote
Bronzed A Donis Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago We have some who think that because we spent a few consecutive seasons of our entire history in the third division, 50 years ago we are punching above our weight now and Venkys are model owners. Plenty of our own fanbase across the ages do us down, despite our average finishing position being something like 15th in the pyramid. I dont care where we are so long as the aim every season is to maximise where we can finish that year and make most of the club. Not some journey nonsense to sell young players without pressure on results. I'm resigned that we can't remove them. They aren't present, rich enough to ignore us. Suhail said biggest mistake was reducing season tickets by 30 quid, that tiny dent to income seems to have hit a nerve but they will just squeeze most out of whoever is left. 3 hours ago, oneandycrawford said: That last point is the one that worries me. 47er Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Dread to think about the state of the squad by Christmas with inevitably more injuries and some suspensions. No question that the academy will get more than its quota of minutes. We are really up against it. Quote
