Its a private owned business at the end of the day yet people like yourself slagged off people who wanted to attend games and be a STH. I take you won't be attending next season? Tomphil2 Posted April 20 Posted April 20 So it seems no qualifications are needed but experience and some sort business degree and/or a sporting degree is kind of an unwriiten rule. No wonder it's such a crazy reckless wasteful world that attracts hustlers and parasites by the truckload. Crazily enough Gestede on paper in now probably more qualified than many others in those roles. Quote

We're in a division where we're owned by Venky's and yet generally remain comfortably upper mid-table and regularly occupy top six positions until the last few months of the season - so yeah, that's the level. It wasnt anything to do with telling people what they can and can't do about buying a season ticket. He quoted something and I quoted him on it. You've just cut in and gone off on a tangent. People can buy a season ticket if they want. It's not my time nor my weekend but theirs. Edited April 20 by ... 1 Quote

Upside Down Posted April 21 Posted April 21 4 hours ago, chaddyrovers said: yet plenty of us think we would be able to run the club better than the current ownership and board I know for a fact that I can do a better job than the people who are currently in charge. Also, can people stop being such pathetic little babies about this season ticket issue? Rigger's comment was in no way derogatory towards people who have bought one, more bemused that people still buy season tickets given the absolute shambles that is this football club. It's a matter of fact that the money you put into the club goes towards paying Waggot, Suhail and the tea boy's gluttonous salaries. It's a matter of fact that any money the club receives will only be used to subsidise the owners. There is no plan for reinvestment, there is no plan to move the club forward. If you contribute to that then that's on you. If you can't handle the fact of the situation that is your own problem not anyone else's. I don't care if you want to buy a ticket or not, it's none of my business. They've never seen a penny of my money and they never will. 4 Quote

We got him cheap apparently due to an agent knowing a bit about his contract, but the agents fee was way in excess of the normal amount. It was then put out there that Rovers fans knew we had bought a players for a much smaller fee than his real worth, therefore justifying the huge agents fee. If the club can make a hash of negotiating a players new contract now and then and said player then leaves for free, there is an awful lot more in it, for anyone with their nose in the trough. 1 Quote
lraC Posted April 21 Posted April 21 (edited) Just imagine if a football club, could somehow find an under qualified CEO who didn’t give a damn about the club and its fans. https://www.sportingintelligence.com/2012/01/15/revealed-the-letter-that-exposes-the-history-of-blackburn-rovers-crisis-150102/ Edited April 21 by lraC 3 Quote

This mirrors selling an Academy graduate & a goalscorer last season (Jones & Kalinic vs Wharton & Szmodics) with a bit of inflation added, then getting a lot of shite in as replacements with a couple decent deals in amongst it all (Yakubu & Dann vs Ohashi & Bathh) The parallels are striking. But the casual observer/fan wouldn’t care. They largely believe the propaganda spouted by the club and are happy to clap & cheer along and be blind to the chaos going on behind the scenes. Education is the key. All this nonsense only ends when Venky’s sell up. They and the people they employ aren’t proper football people and/or don’t have a clue what they’re doing. It did cross my mind maybe the reluctance to give decent new contracts at an earlier appropriate time, so they actually get signed, might be down to preventing someone somewhere getting a contractually obliged cut of the action. Or the players and their agents prefer to eye up the so called loyalty bonus they get here instead of signing on fees. Then get a new contract, maybe bigger wages and a signing on fee elsewhere. Whatever it is it's pathetic it keeps happening and us getting told oh that's just football. The only thing covering that policy from financial disaster is the knee jerk sale of the jewel in the crown. Quote
