I wouldn’t say c13,000 people as regular match goers is a small minority of the fanbase. Obviously plenty down on what we had in 2010, but it’s still a sizeable sample of people for a club of our size.

We need to face facts, away from brfcs the majority of the fanbase just shrug their collective shoulders when it comes to the regime.

I play football with two Rovers fans who both handed back their season tickets years ago due to the Venkys (one goes away occasionally). I'm friends with another Rovers supporting couple who also no longer go due to the lack of interest from the owners.Β

Anecdotal, yes, but that's five Rovers fans right there.

As we've repeatedly seen against Burnley / any cheap ticket offer games, the fan base is still there. 13k does not represent a sizeable portion of our fan base, just the absolute worn-to-the-nub hardcore.

i can exclusively revealΒ  the info is that the ground staff have received new mowers, well not brand new, that would be frivolous for a club our sizeπŸ™‚

It'll be him trying to sell another Academy graduate.Β

It's why I keep renewing, when they do go there'll be 50000 banging the doors down and I don't want to miss out on a seat.Β

With young Carter back injury free and Wharton also back for the new season...can't see us keeping Batth for more than a one year contract. We need pace in the backline and even Bath did a great job pace is still lacking.

Middlesbrough red card ruined him...He looked on good form in games before and even in that game alone.

He's not done anything since.

Why should that have ruined him? Did a bit of a stupid thing and was harshly punished but no big deal really.Β

Trav was sent off at Portsmouth early on his career - he seems to have recovered ok.

Unfortunately Buckley hasn't kicked on after a promising start and probably best for all that he moves on. If he drops down a division or two he could well be a 'big fish' and that might help him have a better career.

We are Blackburn Rovers, not a big city club, of course 13,000 is a big chunk of the fanbase.

The fact the wider fansbase has no issue filling the ground for games like Burnley either shows there isn’t a vast number of folk β€˜boycotting’ or morally against Venky’s.

What a sham of a club.

Talk of Brittain negotiations progressing well and making us confident, weve heard it all before.

Anyone sensible has seen it all before.

Rovers dont want these players anymore when they can be replaced by cheap foreign imports on less than half there wages.

To the surprise of nobody Nixon saying we're "struggling" to do the Travis and Brittain dealsΒ πŸ˜‚

Isn't that just speculation though? I could also say we are struggling to do the deals without any insight into proceedings. Imo he's laying the groundwork for a summer of "CONTRACT SITUATION UPDATE" stories to get his Β£2.

Quite a few on here will believe Nixon when it suits. The rest of the time they slag him off saying he hasn’t got a clue.Β

It’s very odd.

No surprise whatsoever and just further evidence that we will never go anywhere but down with this ownership.

2 of our best players are now likely to be sold for a fraction of their value and replaced with inferior quality.Β

Get these scumbags out of our club.

Or Nixon knows and our Club reporter is getting fed a pack of lies...Just like the Sagnan story...

Even when we were the best team in the country we couldn't fill a 31k stadium.

With the overall rise in crowds over the last 30 years we could well have got to filling the stadium regularly had we stayed as a leading Premier League club.Β

I guess it depends on how you define a fan base. Does it include those who will turn up for the occasional big match and take a casual interest in what is going on? If that is the case then 13k is a minority of that total.

If you only include those who would ever go regularly to games (depending on the success of the team and other factors relating to the club, such as it's ownership) and/or take a more detailed interest in the club then 13k is a significant proportion.

I respect those who have deliberately boycotted - that must be a painful thing to do. But surely the reality is that the managed decline of the club and the lack of success on the field is the key factor in the hollowing out of the support. The season in League One showed that supporters will return if there is a genuine prospect of success.

Given our history with contract negotiations over the past 18 months, this one probably looks more true than his other stories, no?

Its more based on the fact that they havent signed new deals yet. We have seen it all before.
