Obviously plenty down on what we had in 2010, but itβs still a sizeable sample of people for a club of our size. We need to face facts, away from brfcs the majority of the fanbase just shrug their collective shoulders when it comes to the regime. I play football with two Rovers fans who both handed back their season tickets years ago due to the Venkys (one goes away occasionally). I'm friends with another Rovers supporting couple who also no longer go due to the lack of interest from the owners.Β Anecdotal, yes, but that's five Rovers fans right there. As we've repeatedly seen against Burnley / any cheap ticket offer games, the fan base is still there. 13k does not represent a sizeable portion of our fan base, just the absolute worn-to-the-nub hardcore. 2 Quote

neophox Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago With young Carter back injury free and Wharton also back for the new season...can't see us keeping Batth for more than a one year contract. We need pace in the backline and even Bath did a great job pace is still lacking. Quote
neophox Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Igor Tyjon and Kirsti Montgomery along with Leo Duru should be more in to the first team coming season. Quote

He's not done anything since. Why should that have ruined him? Did a bit of a stupid thing and was harshly punished but no big deal really.Β Trav was sent off at Portsmouth early on his career - he seems to have recovered ok. Unfortunately Buckley hasn't kicked on after a promising start and probably best for all that he moves on. If he drops down a division or two he could well be a 'big fish' and that might help him have a better career. Edited 8 hours ago by oneandycrawford Spelling Quote
Mattyblue Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) We are Blackburn Rovers, not a big city club, of course 13,000 is a big chunk of the fanbase. The fact the wider fansbase has no issue filling the ground for games like Burnley either shows there isnβt a vast number of folk βboycottingβ or morally against Venkyβs. The fact the wider fansbase has no issue filling the ground for games like Burnley either shows there isnβt a vast number of folk βboycottingβ or morally against Venkyβs. Even when we were the best team in the country we couldn't fill a 31k stadium. With the overall rise in crowds over the last 30 years we could well have got to filling the stadium regularly had we stayed as a leading Premier League club.Β I guess it depends on how you define a fan base. Does it include those who will turn up for the occasional big match and take a casual interest in what is going on? If that is the case then 13k is a minority of that total. If you only include those who would ever go regularly to games (depending on the success of the team and other factors relating to the club, such as it's ownership) and/or take a more detailed interest in the club then 13k is a significant proportion. I respect those who have deliberately boycotted - that must be a painful thing to do. But surely the reality is that the managed decline of the club and the lack of success on the field is the key factor in the hollowing out of the support. The season in League One showed that supporters will return if there is a genuine prospect of success. Β Β Quote
