Emerald Isle Rover Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Yea hibs manager said it’s nothing too serious and he’s back out on the pitch already - Nixon 2 months was well off the mark who’d have guessed Quote

Then we just sell and don't even bother trying to improve. Pathetic. I was thinking exactly this this afternoon. Every single transfer window since the Court case I get more and more despondent about the Club. The likes of Dolan and Brittain are nowhere near the best players to leave the Club. It's nowhere near a Shearer or Duff or Adam Wharton moment, hell it's probably no nowhere even near a Tony Field or a Roger Jones or a Simon Barker moment. However the plan now seems clearly to be to shed all higher earners and scour the lower reaches of European Leagues or any other League where players are paid a fraction of what they are in the Championship and are therefore still happy to come. If we can do this and remain competitive in the top half of the table or even just about survive it's a stroke of genius but as Herbie says "but..........". When you've got to the stage where the Club isn't prepared to offer competitive enough wages to retain the services of decent Championship players like Brittain and Dolan or even tempt a 35 year old centre back or a 34 year old squad player into signing a short term deal, the temptation is as you say to think "Why bother?" Emerald Isle Rover Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago I like the look of miller I follow a good bit of Scottish football he’s decent. How that transfers to the championship only time will tell but can play centre half and rb good age profile is an international - decent signing Quote

Upgrade or downgrade? (if it happens) Quote

And surely if no issue with his medical wouldn't him or his agent release some sort of statement denying it?He wants a move away Quite possibly, however you'd suspect the player wants to keep us sweet as it would be a huge move for him. I suspect it will just get filed away and forgotten about though..... Quote
Emerald Isle Rover Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Very hard to say you would probably have to put him behind Brittain at this stage given he’s no championship experience - so better the devil you know sort of thing but good age still a lot to learn and can improve on and a bit more versatile hard comparison but if pushed cal at the this stage a better right back but he wouldn’t be a massive downgrade 1 Quote
bluebruce Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Lewis Miller...24 year old (25 before end of August) 6 ft 2 inches right back with 14 caps for Australia, as well as 2 international goals. They're not what they used to be the Socceroos, but we don't have a lot of internationals. Spent 3 seasons at Hibs, out of contract next season. Played in the A-League in Australia before that. Wiki has him down as 144 career club appearances and 6 goals (5 of them at Hibs in his 85 games for them, all in the last 2 seasons and 3 of them in the league). Struggling to find much in the way of highlights reels, none from his time at Hibs, this one being the most ecent... And that's SMI, not to be confused with SEM of SEM and Kentaro infamy, in case anybody else made the same mistake as I did for a moment. 1 Quote

Yeah, there's no way on earth anything like that could ever happen. *Cough* (Mcguire) Quote

I've been wondering if the holdup on further activity was the Brittain sale and seeing if we could get Baradji for a sufficiently low guaranteed fee. But then I keep remembering that outgoing transfers have no impact on our budget according to Gestede (a stance I find hard to believe, as surely without all these sales we would be spending even less). Absolutely. Gestedes stance just shows he's not got a hope, and not competent. 1 Quote
simongarnerisgod Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago brittain is going to be a big miss with his attacking instinct,we`ll struggle down that side with no dolan and now no brittain, maybe val is going all long ball for this season, negating the need for attacking down the flanks think we all know that travis will be next out of the door and im`e very surprised that sonny is`nt courting any interest Quote
London blue Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago If we bring in Miller I'll hold my hands up, I absolutely was not expecting a replacement. I don't know much about him but the consensus seems good. Still, sort out Brittains contract 12 months ago and we wouldn't need to replace him. 7 Quote
roversfan99 Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Still a massive blow to lose Brittain, no way can we get someone as good. At least we are looking to proactively replace him permanently although the injury is a concern. Hopefully he will be back ASAP. Seems to be quick and powerful which makes sense considering what we seemingly are desperate for. From reading online, he seems to have done well in the last few months of the season playing as a right centre back and a few Hibs fans have commented saying that hes a good right centre back but not a right back. 1 Quote

TommyRovers Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Gutting to lose Brittain. Big part in how we play but Millar is a very good signing so fair play. 2 Quote

That seems strange, as going off the video I posted (admittedly 3 years old) he is quick with good feet, and can even shift direction quickly for a big lad. Perhaps he has other attributes but it feels like playing him at RCB wastes some of his best attributes. Quote
Emerald Isle Rover Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Injury is a tad annoying but it’s nowhere near the extent Nixon reported Quote
