Again, this makes sense, in case Rovers send him back, its the Swiss club protecting themselves against potential loss as his current contract expires next summer 4 Quote

They won't want to pay the sort of fee required for the player on a permanent deal and there's no way the player comes here permanently if a bigger club comes in and offers him higher wages. What a shame as I think he's our most talented player signed this summer.Β If another club offers more wages, he will be signed for Rovers at the pre agreed fee & wages, and then immediately sold at profit 1 Quote

DutchRover Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago (edited) Loan with an option makes sense for Baradji. We apparently think he is injured and needs surgery and who knows how that goes, while Yverdon and presumably Baradji are happy to play matches. Medical team get to monitor him properly now over a season and then can make informed decision on permanent signing next summer. Other posters have commented on the risks associated with the injury he allegedly has as well, so it protects club. We'd all be slamming them if we paid up and then he was a crock. (Also it saves money up front for us to back out next year and sign someone cheaper..) Edited 4 hours ago by DutchRover 3 Quote

We've just sold our club captain and replaced him with this bloke.Β Him being constantly injured isn't an option, in fact, if he is, it's catastrophic. 3 Quote
DutchRover Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago (edited) What I would say is that it makes me even more sceptical about his injury, we must think it is a risk worth not signing him permanently for, yet he has been our top target. And I've never understood the hype from one YT video and Swiss league relegation battle, but happy for him to prove me wrong for us.Β Edited 4 hours ago by DutchRover Quote

Oh I agree, I don't think the signing makes sense, and I don't get the hype he's got. But since we have been so desperate to sign him this way at least protects us in the event he's a crock. Quote

You can't really see if that comment relates to a specific question about the size of the fee. He does say his "information" is that the fee "will" exceed Β£3m. Which makes it seem extremely odd that he earlier wrote online that it "could" do so. Also relies on his "information" being truthful as well I suppose. Quote

Emerald Isle Rover Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago What I donβt understand is if he has been their top target all summer why not sign him early July and get the minor surgery then? On the same deal we have now encase it doesnβt work out? Seems like pretty much 2 months wasted on what was clearly our top targetΒ 5 Quote

Seems like pretty much 2 months wasted on what was clearly our top targetΒ The fact that it's been done simultaneously with Travis's expected departure would indicate we couldn't bring him in any earlier for financial reasons. But you're right, it would have made a lot more sense to get him in earlier and sort out any medical issues then. If he needed any surgery why wouldn't his current Club have had it done? Quote
