We do seem to be spending a bit on transfers but keeping wages low. On the surface of it seems like we are equally financially unsustainable as before,Β  we have just spent the money we can't afford on the fee rather than wage?

I guess built into the financial model is a % of these signings will be hits and sold for at least 2x what we paid? And presumably quite quickly - like next summer?

Would quite like to have a look at that spreadsheet whereever it is. I guess on Pasha and Rudi's laptops?

If we do well with only one signing with any championship experience (McLoughlin) that will be interesting, and confound a lot of conventional ideas about what you need to succeed in this division.

The notion that Suhail 'what else can we cut' Pasha is stretching the budget beyond its capacity, especially after the obscene amount of transfer fees received in recent years, is a strange take to me.

Not that this would happen either way but I could definitely see Szmodics dropping out of their team soon enough. He’s had his year.

He’ll go derby if he was to go, he loved Eustace

Players obviously like playing for Eustace because hes a very good Championship manager and aΒ

But he doesnt have this gravitational pull to the extent that people make out. Money and challenging for promotion will out rank that.

Ipswich wont let him go anyway.

The thing is, no one has actually had the bollocks to say exactly what Travis is meant to have done wrong. Has he refused to play? He happily played the West Brom game and was on the bench against Bradford.

These are rumours out there. I think what a certain poster has posted could be great possibility. Something deffo happened after Ismael answered a question to media honestly and we seen the articles from Elliott Jackson about the Travis situation.Β Β

It just plants seeds which is enough to turn some fans against the departing players.Β

who are these some fans and who has changed their opinion based on this account?Β

You are still naively thinking that Travis is leaving purely out a strong desire to work for Eustace again. Had we offered a proper wage to him then I am sure that he would have stayed. There is too much of a pattern but the club clearly dont want us to focus on that. There is a reason why we havent got any players to sign a new deal in so long.

How do you we haven't him a proper wage? what a proper wage?Β  maybe his wage demands are too high for us? or maybe Travis wanted a new challenge or go and play for Eustace again given how close their working relationship was.Β

Yes there is a reason, we have wage budget and that the budget and we won't go over the max wage limit we can offer.Β

Your refusal to comment on the minutes add to mine and many others assumptions that you are incredibly reluctant to criticise the club.

refusal to comment? what are you going on about RF99? Plenty has been said about it and tbh not much to add to that. This isn't the right thread to discuss the fans forum and the minutes.Β

if the club need to be criticise then I will do so not by you telling me to do so

You are also very big on communication. You dismiss the unprofessional method of using a anonymous twitter handle to do so, and refuse to comment entirely on Suhail and co literally amending minutes as to what was said with fans to try and make the club look better.

Yes I am big on communication with head coach answering questions when asked or Rovers club management like the CEO and DoF doing interviews with the Rovers media team, BBC Radio Lancs and Elliott Jackson with the LT.Β

Eustace must have personality behind the scenes he doesn’t show as I don’t know why there’s such a love for him from players. He comes across really bland and a bit vacuous to me. Mind you that probably describes a lot of footballers too.

Eustace is obviously a good man manager who likes to keep it simple and drill the basics into his players and probably doesn't ask too much of them.

They'll love that.

Im not on about rumours. Im saying that we have said publically that Travis has let the team down but not remotely said how he has done so. If the manager is going to say that, at least be specific.

Do you think that leaking information through an anonymous twitter account and altering minutes from meetings with fans are examples of good communication?

And on the wages thing, come on chaddy. Why havent any players signed new deals (bar Ribeiro) in 2 years now? We clearly arent offering competitive wages and you are just being awkward for the sake of it. If thats not a problem then I dont know what is.

The Japanese winger news doesnt seem to have been picked up by local media yet.

The LT hasnt even written a story confirming a signing we made 2 days ago. On top of the constant errors throughout each article, it really is poor.

I wouldnt be surprised if this winger is our last signing, unless someone like Hyam goes. The likes of Buckley, Pears and Leonard, they may justify as not being first teamers anyway. And Travis replaced by Baradji.

They've been pretty late to others like hendrikson. Heard it hear well before the let.Β

where did Ismael say Travis let the team down?Β  I have asked you twice about this in all fairness.Β

What we don't know is what has happened since that League cup game cos clearly something has behind the scenes.Β

We don't know who is behind this anonymous twitter account but they know alot of stuff, I think you are far too obsess about it and giving it far too much air time and thinking fans opinions are changed by it.Β

I have expressed the type of communication I want to see like interviews with the CEO on local media and Rovers TV every few months explaining decisions made by Rovers or what the plan is. maybe answering Q and A with someone like Andy Bayes where fans have sent in questions to him for example

so you think we should agree to Travis's wage demands for example without thinking about the wage budget. Good to know but then in the next minute you are complaining about the cost of ST or players wages or TV deals going on wages. You have wage budget and you have to not over paid but also if player x get 30k a week deal then what happens when player y or player d asking for the same or player F wants his wages doubling. what happens then with wages and then your wage bill is over 150% plus to turnover

I think they do.

Doesnt explain the lack of article about a new signing though!

Just that he had that really strong season or so with us. Before that did fine for Peterborough and last season, obviously in a league above, grabbed a couple of goals but struggled, as did the rest of his team.Β
I’m sure he’ll grab a few goals this season but it won’t be anywhere near what he did for us and he’s not exactly young in footballing terms so I feel like he won’t be a starter by the end of this season. Could be wrong of course, just a feeling.

local media? you mean Elliott Jackson? He wasn't at Hull away as he was at wedding and given that he won't run a story until he has source or someone has confirm it to him from Rovers end.Β

what other local media is there?Β

Its certainly not a perfect indicator as to how a player will do but its your best bet as to how the player has done to date. I have been criticised in the past for using it as a barometer.

Reaction to Alebiousu from St Mirren fans was that he was excellent for them in his short time. Hull fans rated McLoughlin in the main. Kortrijk fans didnt rate De Neve at all and its hard to argue based on the very limited we have seen of all 3 that the first 2 wont be more successful than the latter.

Hendriksson is perhaps an example of context too. GAIS fans loved him partly because of his personality but also he like basically all of our signings had been playing in a lesser league. He has looked off the pace so far but its very early days so hopefully he can adjust.

I didnt really see any reaction to Baradji and Tavares but the news wasnt really picked up internationally and im guessing that neither club they came from is well supported.

Completely agree. Fwiw I think there’s a potentially very good player in Henriksson. Needs a bit of time to bed in but I think he’ll come good.

I think Eustace is very popular amongst β€˜the lads’ and I mean the English lads who have a code of conduct. Ie - if someone plays well they get a new deal at this point. The old boys code. Fwiw, old John must’ve been having kittens last summer with this lot throwing random Belgian lower division players at him! πŸ™ˆπŸ€£

He said it in the extended BBC Lancashire interview post match on BBC sounds.

And you are skirting around the fact that only one player has signed a new deal in 2 years. Im guessing you think thats acceptable.

These new signings come from lesser leagues where wages are far lower.

Doesnt explain why there is no article about a new signing 2 days on or why the articles are full of errors. They also employ other journalists for when he isnt working.

Tbh, this makes it feel more believable because I don’t think Rovers give anything away and it’s often the players side in the country of origin who give the game away and then it’s a case of Elliott trying to get a comment from the club.
