Dolan signing for Espanyol, apparently

Β

Good. Not going to turn up at Ewood causing irritation and embarrasment to anyone. Good luck to the lad.

Moving on.Β

Please can we get a replacement in.

Think the lack of transfer news has sent this thread into a bit of a tailspin of in-fighting over ex-Rovers. Can we perhaps get back on track to our transfer mediocrity?

The French guy Nkada could be a decent signing, but I wonder what it would mean for Gueye.

Baradji I think we have to avoid, others have highlighted to potential long-term problems with the foot issue and we can't waste our no money on a crock.

Right winger I wonder if we sign a right-footer so we have a right/left option on each wing (DDN = L, Karg = R; RH = L etc)

What I find disappointing is the lack of loyalty in football these days - the club gave him his first break in 1st team football, and supported him through some tough times.

Absolute codswallop.

If Rovers are offering him 8 k p.w. and he can get a minimum of Β£15 k or Β£16 k anywhere else he's not going to sign a new deal here.Β

Neither are any of the other players in a similar boat.

He’s went to who was willing to pay him the highest wages let’s get it right. All his talk of ambition etc was hot air burnely sister club to bootΒ

If he does go there, he'll have gone from a Championship side who'll never get promoted under the current ownership to a team in La Liga. Sounds ambitious enough to me. Will he be getting paid more than the pittance he was on here? Of course. But he said he wanted to test himself at a higher level and he'll be doing it straight away. Good luck Ty.

But but.......no-one's interested in him, he's shit.

Good luck to him if true.

Chalk up yet another massive own goal to our management.

Biggest frustration is that we've basically developed him and then when he finally started to show the makings of a decent championship player, he's walked for free. Not his fault, all on the clubs hierarchy.

That said, if he goes to The Dingles, as Espanyol are their sister club (and we know how much they love their sistersΒ πŸ₯΄), he can get fucked.

Yeah i mean they are only a Laliga team after all i mean imagine turning down Blackburn and Derby to do that.

Shithouse no ambition at all.

I think he'll struggle though and soon to be back in championship with Stoke city on loan.

Β More likely the dingles by the sounds of it!

He wasn't going to bang the goals in from #9.Β

Undav turning down a loan deal is why we didn't make the playoffs. That and our inability to find a replacement.Β

Exactly 1000"..

Well well turns out he's good enough for a top flight Spanish team to take a punt after all.

Who'd have thought........

It's Espanyol (if it happens). Salary wise they are unlikely to pay him more than he would have got at Ewood.....Β

Fair play to him though I'd rather live in Barcelona than Manchester.

Not sure where they'd play him either, certainly won't get picked over Puado who's probably their best player, but that's not our problem.

Lol, yeah, gone to a mid table La Liga side.

Terrible move.

You know that expression "When you're in a hole stop digging?"

Ty going to Espanyol is a good move for him. I’m sure it’s already been sold as a β€˜do well here and be in the prem in 6 months’ type of offer. They can offer that via the 6 fingered lot down the road.Β

Espanyol would be a great move for him. He might do well, he might not, but theres no doubt that would be a move you just cant argue with.

@chaddyroversΒ thought hed been badly advised?

Good luck to Dolan and Family there.Β

I ain't going over this again with repeating the same old discussion/comments it's just pointlessΒ

Big victory for the Dolan truthers today.

The Dolan doubters know their time is coming when he's back on loan to a Championship club in January.

I don't know what tax implications are over there but perhaps that might help and he'll be on more than heΒ wasΒ on here now that's for sure.

Think a less demanding environment over there might suit him as well and by that i mean the standard is high but here whenever things weren't going well he always looked like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders.

Over there a free transfer from the English second tier should ensure a bit less pressure on him to start with at least.

Awful for us compo wise but no more than the clowns who run Ewood deserve, not that they'll git a stuff.

Why would he agree to that?

The only bitterness anyone should have is over the lack of compensation but at the same time everyone with an ounce of sense knows where the blame really lies on that.

Probably because you compared him to Nyambe and suggested he had made a mistake not signing a new contract here, and that he and his agent had overestimated his worth.

And he seemingly will get a La Liga move.

Nope it's because I can't be assed keep going over itΒ  (AGAIN). I've made my points on this subject and stand by every single point/comments I made on this. I ain't going another 15 rounds with yourself Again!

Even if he does end up falling short at La Liga level, that doesnt mean that the transfer still isnt very much one he is right to take, that he will have made a mistake or justify talk of "the grass isnt always greener."

We have seen in the past with the likes of Armstrong, Brereton etc that these players have struggled going up a level and end up coming back down. But your objective as a player should be to get as high as possible and our objective should be (and seemingly isnt) as a club to get into the Premier League. If we did, without a new team we would come back down and probably threaten the lowest points record. Still doesnt mean that you shouldnt try

You look at Szmodics. He took a chance and can now look back and say he has played in the Premier League, he has scored in it, played against the best players, even if in general hes short of being a Premier League level player.

I wouldn't either if I'd been proved completely wrong.
