Why though do you think it's unreasonable to expect a return like that off him when he scored two today?. He's obviously capable of doing it when he can be bothered to make the effort. Might be irrelevant as we might lose a number of higher earners like Brittain, Hyam, Travis and Tronstad in the summer anyway. So much ignorance in this post. 8 Quote

He was getting further forward today than in any other game I can remember. Perhaps Ismael is allowing him to get forward more. 11 Quote

Why do you think it's reasonable to expect 5-10 goals from central midfield, let alone from DM? Travis doesn't do that either, his record is 2 goals in a season. But for some reason you're not giving him the same criticism. 2 Quote
chaddyrovers Posted April 18 Posted April 18 excellent performance and result. The players and Ismael got the game plan correct and didn't we performed to it. Played some beautiful football today. My Man of the match is Brittain, 10 out of 10. Rest of the starting 11 all get 8's and 9's. Ohashi should have scored today. 4 great goals today. Toth played very well today, 2 good saves today, communicate with back 4 and kick very well. deffo to build on now If that's how Ismael wants to play, good attacking football then lets see it. Needs signings in the summer and some players contract to be renew now. Whatever happened at half time of the Sheffield Wednesday game we don't know but what a turn around. He needs to keep producing results and performances then people's opinions will change on him Very happy night and proud to be a Rover after that performance and result. 3 Quote

Tronstad played a certain way under JDT, played a slightly different way under Eustace and appears to be playing a completely different way under VI. Like you say, he’s actually being allowed to get forward. I can’t remember many times he’s picked the ball up 20 yards from the opposition’s goal, but he was there quite a few times today. He was lucky to leave the centre circle under the previous 2 managers. To claim the reason he scored 2 today was cos he ‘could be bothered’ is peak lunacy! Edited April 18 by Forever Blue 8 Quote
Backroom Tom Posted April 18 Backroom Posted April 18 So even though in every possible way it’s Sonny’s goal will the first officially go down as Cantwell’s? It touched him on the way in which automatically usually gives them the goal but it was off his hand Could be Cantwell’s first in open play for us Quote

In fact I struggle to think of many CMs, especially those who are played a little deeper, who ever got 5 in a season for us, let alone 10 (no, the likes of Szmodics and Dack do not count as CMs). It's a really bizarre expectation. 2 Quote

Backroom Tom Posted April 18 Backroom Posted April 18 Toth looked more confident today I thought, minor moment but he decisively came for a ball heading around 13-14 yards out, took it well and rolled it out. Refreshing to see a moment of command in our box; 3 reasonable saves as well although 2 you would defo want your keeper to be making. 3 Quote

I wonder if his critics will give him some credit we're it's due. Why should anyone give him credit for eight points from nine games and blowing our play off chances? 4 Quote

But he was also his usual diligent self defensively too. He broke up several Millwall attacks with tackles and interceptions. His sensible choice of passes today helped us keep possession when it was needed. The criticism of him is farcical and in my opinion shows a complete lack of football knowledge. 11 Quote
Hasta Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Great performance although I now feel more pissed off that the incompetence of the board room and the owners cost us a play off spot. 2 Quote

He’s just a very good footballer at this level. The fact he hasn’t been spoken to about a new contract speaks volumes for the clowns running the club. 4 Quote
