Lol

They originally played in green and I think they deliberately copied the famous Aston Villa kit-much the same way as Leeds copied Real Madrid's...

Here's to them copying Coventry's 1980 away kit...( if you know, you know..)

Before they played in green they played in blue and white horizontal halves and they called themselves 'Burnley Rovers'. They blatantly copied of Blackburn Rovers and as your correctly pointed, they blatantly copied Aston Villa because they were the successful team at the time. Their results started to improve under the Aston Villa kit scheme so they kept it and then had the audacity to call themselves 'THE Clarets'.

Used to nick the ticket rolls, to chuck on when we scored.

Brilliant, I recommend toilet roll also 👌

I have been told that Waggott had done some preparatory work in getting a game at Ewood on August 2nd and was looking at some established European clubs. Whoever has picked up the slack in his absence has gone to the Punekars and told them what the appearance fee would be and they aren't prepared to pay it.

Instead somebody has had a brainwave (probably thinking we could charge an appearance fee) to play abroad on that date and they are frantically searching for a team to play.

It was said that the money from the Everton friendly would finance the trip.

Let's see what happens but right now there is no game scheduled for August 2nd.

I went to Anfield a few weeks ago to see Springsteen,I have`nt been there for a while and I could not believe the changes. statues, plaques and monuments all over the place. every where you look they are showing off their achievements. Ok they have lots more to celebrate than Rovers but surely we can do better after 150 years than one statue of Jack. The powers that be could do a lot worse than visiting Anfield and getting a few ideas.

The most successful Town team in the country deserves better.

Obviously a shoe string operation down there… so of course, twenty odd ‘Head Ofs…’ are certainly required to spend those pennies down there, especially the one now overseeing an amateur team.

I've always thought that we could and should do something similar albeit on a smaller scale. We could have more statues of a few club legends, such as the empty space facing the Jack Walker entrance, or the gates at the BBE and JW stands could be replaced with ornamental gates paying homage to our history.

Alas effort and cost are off the table here.

Toilet rolls tended to break at the perforations, bus ticket rolls didn't have any. Also they where easier to sneak in.

The two corners between the Jack Walker and the BE/DE would be great for a history mura… oh.

Perhaps those areas are now dedicated to the clubs history since the Venkys took over ?

I was in Liverpool in early May so went for a wander around Goodison Park as at that point it was due to be levelled. It struck me how every spare inch of the three sides that back directly onto roadside were covered in Everton shouting about themselves - massive pictures and names of legendary players on the Goodison Road side and a detailed timeline of their entire history across the Bullens Road / Gwladys Street ends - including a few Rovers references!

There is of course also the Trinity statue in the one corner and a massive fans wall with dedications and memorials that faces onto the roadside too.

Compare and contrast that to Ewood...

(I have only ever been inside Goodison once, with Rovers in Feb 2006. It was infamous for Everton's stand-in keeper Iain Turner getting sent off within 10 minutes. We still lost of course and now that 'kid' in goal is in his 40s... an even younger 'kid' came on to replace him - John Ruddy!)

They dont give a fig,non supporters of the Club running the show.

Dont forget we had a proud Rovers timeline outside the Ewood Stands...removed without explanation.

We should have a Bob Crompton Statue...England Captain and National Football Museum/Blackburn Rovers Hall of fame inductee.

Safety Conscious, you're on about the 2 ply in the 80s I think 3 ply was a solid contender for having good range and easy on the bonce.

Kitchen towel however, is rubbish.

I was at the Springsteen concert as well sat in the Kop. Christ, it was uncomfortable with hardly any leg room. It all has safe standing bars and you needed to keep standing for a bit to keep your legs working
