The club doesn't belong to the town anymore it just belongs to faceless corporate names thousands of miles away.

The people running it aren't custodians of the club for the town as all before them were they are just installed gravy train riders minding the club for the detached ownership and whoever else is involved.

This is the reason beyond all else the town and whole fanbase aren't behind the club and never will be until something changes. And if they think, which i suspect they do, that all that won't matter if they engage the rapidest growing part of the local community to replace lost fans they are deluded even beyond the wildest realms we already see.

There's only one real cure to all this.

The irony is the only way that growing community would ever even remotely engage with the club is if it achieved something in the pitch, I.e Premier League… which of course will *never* happen under this regime.

So yes, only one cure whatever way you slice it.

You seriously want the Remembrance Day fixture disrupted in this way ? The men who served in the trenches had a courage and a dignity that an idiot like you will never understand.

The cheek of you calling anyone an idiot.

You're merely doing what you always do though in taking the contrary and view so no real surprise there.

It's not so much contrarianism as it is trying to kibosh every major protest idea by poisoning the well. It's a running theme with this poster and certainly raises eyebrows...

Remembrance Day has nothing to do with the football, we honour the fallen pre kick off and wear a poppy on the shirt but it’s not as if the game has any links beyond that.

To pretend it would be disrespectful to protest after the ceremonies is clearly arguing in bad faith.

Pretty much. Or watered down to the extent they might as well not bother. As you can see the vast majority have been ignored anyway.

A huge two fingers up to the fans, which is par for the course really.

The follow up meeting to this was in July, not May. By that time Steve Waggott had left so no minutes were ever circulated but a number of the above ideas were completely taken off the table with no discussion. There has been no follow up meetings or even any email correspondence to the committee since.

Who attended from Rovers in the July meeting?

That is spot on Tomphil..never before,(maybe since the 1960 ticket fiasco)has the Club felt so alienated from the fans.

Its a truly horrible feeling and all in our 150th year...it really does feel like a Wake atm!

For the derby game, everyone who goes, to dress in black, like attending a funeral. The cameras would pick that up, and nobody is breaking any laws or admission rules.

The one off shirt was being discussed in April 2024. They ignored many of our suggestions for this season’s kits though so who knows what will emerge…

I expect the blue to be dark & the Maltese Cross to feature…

With the side of the blue half being alternated from shirt to shirt?

This day could be a complete disaster for the club if we lose all this next run of games which is highly likely.

If the poor form continues, the won't sell many walk-on tickets, even at the reduced prices.

I really want to be able to enjoy the day, I really hope we can build some momentum from somewhere going into that match and I really hope we can get three points on the day, no matter how we do it. But my gut tells me it's going to be a half empty ground, feeling flat and generally fed up. I wish more than anything it wasn't the case.

It does look like AI slop. The bar is so low at this club. I don't know whether we outsource this stuff to another firm or whether it's done in-house but it has been shite for a while, embarrassing. This isn't an overreaction because this isn't a one-off. Everything we do with branding, comms, marketing is tone-deaf rubbish.

Edit- it should go without saying as well that this is nothing to do with it being Diwali, I would say the same if it said Eid, Easter, Xmas, whatever. It's just amateurish.

No Maltese cross! Poor effort.

Don’t you know a random website once said it was our badge briefly so is now the basis of all our AI generated comms (and will be on the anniversary shirt, of course).

A shout out to the owners of the club from the club and they’ve managed to get the club’s name wrong.
