This whole Maltese cross garbage has become the gospel now because it would take a cursory five minutes to read through some of the actual history to understand why one or two players had that on their shirts in the earliest photo. Notice that not all the players have that badge on their shirts.

As with anything at venky Rovers, even putting in a derisory amount of effort is deemed to be too much. The Maltese cross is cheap, easy and can be generated by AI in a few seconds. An actual commemorative badge would take effort and care along with the most basic understanding of the club history.

I didnt think the Cross had the slightest relevance to the Club.

Does anyone know why the suggestion for an all white shirt was made as Im equally bemused by that.

It's on some football kit website.

Every contemporary source says the team played in blue and white quarters, i.e halves, reversed on the back.

When I hear a shirt explained as "quartered", I always think of a Bristol Rovers shirt or a Wycombe Wanderers shirt. Not suggesting that this is the correct description of quartered but its just where my personal brain logic goes.

I just had a call off a club employee saying that the COO has asked Ishmael to play our 1st Team against Old Etonians so we have the chance of boasting about a decent home victory.
