I left the ground at about 2.50 and bought a programme in the club shop which was quite busy. Too long to wait for the legends' match. I had an appointment elsewhere at 4.30. Quote

Wiggy Posted Saturday at 19:40 Posted Saturday at 19:40 I took £1.50 in cash today to buy the special edition programme . I wandered around the JW upper concourse looking for one. There was nothing doing so I approached a guy with a supervisor jacket. He was a lovely chap and really apologetic and embarrassed. He said many people had asked the same question. He said all the tills in the concourse had been programmed to sell them but someone had forgotten to take them to the JW stand. He rang the office and asked for them to be sent up immediately. He was told it was too late and anybody wanting one should go to the club shop after the game to purchase. It’s beyond farce this club now. 2 Quote
all you need is duff Posted Saturday at 19:47 Posted Saturday at 19:47 I got to the ground at 11:10 today. This is much earlier than i usually do as I wanted the 150th thing on the green shirt I bought in the summer. This is something that looks quite good but surely should have been on the shirts originally instead of an afterthought. After queuing up for 25mins I was told there were too many shirts waiting for printing so I needed to come back after the game. I asked can I leave it with them and pick up after the game. I was told no as it might get “mixed up with others.” I then went in the jack waker upper to have my pre match pie but they had no meat and potato. I left the legends game when they announced injury time to again try and get the badge that should have been there originally placed on my shirt. Eventually after another 30min wait I had the badge which does look quite good. I also haven’t had a wedding anniversary present off my wife this year despite us getting married in August as she gave me an IOU for the anniversary shirt. I did enjoy seeing the legends + squad fillers but the general organisation at the club seems to get worse every year Quote

So I had to wait and queue for ten minutes after FT for them to open the club shop so I could grab one. I had just assumed they would have them on the concourse. I'm sure they used to? Quote
steelcityblue Posted Saturday at 21:41 Posted Saturday at 21:41 I put this on the matchday thread so apologies to anyone who has already seen it but I thought it might sit better here. My contribution to the day 1875 Seventeen gather in a Blackburn pub eyes bright with promise 'This will be our club' Blackburn Rovers, set to thrive Born 1875 In Cotton Town they worked to spin threads of blue and white, that would weave within the generations that come between their dream and now. They wove the fabric of our club, our town. Blue and white shirts of great renown Blue and white ribbons on trophies evince success in every century since. History has never seen a more successful small town team. Those threads through history remind us whatever troubles come to find us.. Stand tall. Be proud. Let this club bind us. Raise our scarves of white and blue, Lift hearts and voices too: 'We Love You Rovers, We Do' Love and prides that still survives Born 1875 4 Quote

It was great to see so many old favourites at the Old Etonians game and a wonderful gesture by the Old Etonians to make a presentation to the club. Thought the club did well in the end in terms of a celebration. The Legends game was a welcome addition and everyone around me enjoyed that one. A decent book produced and a programme on the day. I don't usually buy shirts but I'll definitely get one of the White boxed ones when they come out. As a celebration I thought it was a decent event - certainly, for me, better than the Centenary in 1975- the highlight of that one was the book Harry produced. The club does nothing well and hasn't done for 15 years. Supporters treated with contempt. I would complain in writing but I complained about the Telegraph ban and haven't had the courtesy of a reply. Shysters, charlatans, chancers with few if any exceptions; they don't belong here. A captive audience, we slavishly still turn up. An abusive relationship. 1 Quote

Mattyblue Posted yesterday at 09:15 Posted yesterday at 09:15 Sums them up that the green shirt that is matching the borough’s colours (and they made a right song and dance about the link in the comms) didn’t have the coat of arms on it when released. Quote

I did enjoy seeing the legends + squad fillers but the general organisation at the club seems to get worse every year And in the BBE lower by the start of half time the only pies available were meat and potato. Everything else had sold out at the outlet I visited. I ended up having a hotdog and thought I’d ‘treat’ myself to the chips and drink with it. Asked for those as they come as an offer and was told that’s only for the early bird offer lol. Didn’t seem to be anything obvious on the signs but maybe I missed it. Just seemed a bit poor. I was at the ground before 10:30 but it really didn’t feel overly special. The fireworks were probably the best part. Decision for the ref to blow the whistle before then having the last post played was always going to end up in chaos. Everyone knows what happens when the ref blows the whistle after the silence, everyone cheers!! Should have gone straight into the last post and it would have no doubt been perfectly observed. I do wonder if the club have realised that they may have dropped a massive bollock with the 150 shirt. If it’s been proven that we never actually played a game in an all white kit then it could be a bit embarrassing. I wonder if someone has taken it from a quick google search without fully diving into the history. Anyway, not having a special kit worn or available is a joke and just about sums the club up at the moment. Quote

Anyway, not having a special kit worn or available is a joke and just about sums the club up at the moment. You’re giving them far too much credit. It’s simply that Suhail is concerned that with 2000 unsold shirts on his hands, launching another new one will cannibalise those sales in the run up to Christmas. Someone therefore believes the fanbase can be fleeced more effectively by launching the anniversary shirt later; perhaps even after Christmas (?) at £90 a pop. Anyone wanting a chuckle…imagine if Liverpool released their 1st ever shirt as their anniversary kit. Well worth a Google that 😉 2 Quote

Tomphil2 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago So after years of under ordering the first two or three kits they've now vastly over ordered ? Clown city i'm now of the opinion the sole reason this pillock got sent to Ewood from India is because they like him and didn't want to sack him because he's useless at everything else. Quote

JHRover Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago This is the folly of releasing FOUR kits over the course of a season. It is just ridiculous and unnecessary. Rovers need TWO kits - home and away. We could have used both this year to properly commemorate the anniversary - a retro / one off home shirt and then an away shirt - perhaps the gold version with other anniversary references. Job done. Get adequate stock in over the summer and ensure the shelves are full through the season. Totally needless for us to have 3 kits in any season. The blue and white halves does the job in most games and an away shirt to be used at Millwall/QPR/Preston/Birmingham/WBA/Leicester/Portsmouth Totally needless to release a 'one-off' special kit for the anniversary game. Why not just use this all season and make the most of it? And in the end the whole thing botched by people who have no idea (I'm not sure what commercial experience the likes of Suhail and Sufi have but certainly not enough to be running a multi-million pound organisation). You might have had people willing to pay £80+ for that white Maltese shirt for the occasion of Saturday. But are they really going to pay that much for a shirt released in January and never worn in a match? Quote
