What about turning this into a Venky's out day and an unofficial fans takeover day.

Obviously,  anything inside the ground could be frowned upon, but perhaps a big helium balloon release form the Fernhurst car park, face painting with blue and white halves and Venky's out in red and maybe some T Shirts with Venky's out on them.

The club seem to be giving a collective two fingers to the fans on this, so lets give it back to them and really shove it up them.

I think that's a really good idea Carl. There will be quite a lot of media attention (national and hopefully global) and a vocal and visual protest could not be ignored.

The theme could be along the lines of the 135/15 year comparison which I believe would capture the imagination and hit home as to what a shambles the last decade and a half have.

I just wonder if it’s worth taking this one step further and perhaps producing a film. The theme suggested by a few 135 years of success 15 years of miss management. Focus on our fantastic previous owner in Uncle Jack and the polar opposite with Venkys. Ensure it is released on the 150th anniversary to give it maximum impact and incorporate a huge fans takeover day, for the Derby home game, being the last scene in the film,

There seems to be a few producers who would do this, but below is a link to one such company.

Happy to get a price and ideas, to possibly crowd find it, if there is an appetite to do so.

The 135/15 thing is a great idea.

Sadly I dont feel like there's anything to celebrate in our 150th year and that's the reason.

I think that could be really effective.

I think the 135 / 15 years distinction is a good one. 

Also because it was only a week or so after our 135th anniversary that these awful people completed their takeover and their regime took the club hostage.

So not only is November important as the anniversary of the clubs' founding 150 years ago but also the anniversary of its' darkest day 15 years ago.

I actually think we need to play down the Jack Walker era and focus on how through the 80s we were challenging for promotion to the first division whilst most other small town teams (such as the six fingered creatures) were wallowing in the bowels of the football league. This was all done on a budget of practically nothing and was all 100% down to hard work, dedication and professionalism from those involved. 

It was this that attracted Jack Walker to buying the club.

I'm sick of having "you want to be winning the league again jack walker is dead get over it we are a small town club" bollocks thrown our way. What we achieved in the 80s was entirely down to people who gave a fuck and were willing to put in the effort.

Although we will never forget jack and we will always sing his name, we really need a fresh start at Ewood. These owners need to leave. 

They've no idea what they have done to this town.

There's little to no buzz anymore. 

Saturdays hurrying to get into town before Blue n White armies stretch the width of Livesey Branch Road and Bolton Road, local shops busy and businesses thriving as the beating heart of Blackburn passes by their doors. 

People mid week, proud to wear their shirts as they nip to get a paper.

Workplaces full of football chatter, banter and endless reminiscing.

Everything came to gri ding halt when these bungled us out of the Premier league.  

We're the jewel in the Lancastrian crown. The Famous Blue and White halves and Rose Crest.

SELL THE CLUB GIVE US OUR SANITY BACK

This is another good idea and I’m in agreement with you. I do think a pool of ideas, from either this site, or supporters in General will help to turn this into a real event. It just an idea I have floated to turn the 150th anniversary in general or the Derby game a real opportunity to expose this ownership and give us the stage to do so.

I know we get the "it's not 1995 anymore" jibes thrown our way occasionally by opposing fans, the rather strange section of our support who are still supportive of Venky's or Tony Mowbray, but I disagree strongly we should play down the Jack Walker era. With all due respect to winning the League in 1911 and 1913 the 1995 Title win is probably the jewel in the crown of our illustrious history and should be celebrated as such.

That said, we all know that the Footballing Authorities have shifted the goalposts since Jack's time in order to preserve the status quo for the biggest Clubs and prevent smaller ones from realistically competing for the top honours but with astute management and proper support from fully invested owners there is no real reason why we couldn't one day be a well run Premier League Club along the lines of Brentford, Bournemouth, Brighton, Fulham etc.

Whilst we had a financial advantage for a short time back in Jack's day, that was no absolute guarantee of success, he could quite easily have chucked a load of money at it and not got anywhere. It was all about getting the right people in on and off the pitch and creating the right environment for them to succeed. 

Financial advantage or not, what he achieved was phenomenal and is something to be celebrated not played down. It's a beacon of hope to the sorts of things that can actually be achieved if you get things right.

4 months from now it is the anniversary. So far we've had nothing from the club to commemorate or celebrate this, save for a sticker on the back of the neck on the new shirt

I notice Birmingham, also celebrating their 150th but with a far less glorious history, have released an anniversary kit that they are going to wear all season, including a gold theme and special badge

In decades to come when some bod in Blackburn Museum is leafing through a box of old photographs from Rovers' 150th birthday, they'll probably spend most of the time wondering why everyone was waving plastic snakes about. Knowing our luck it will stick like the black cat in Sunderland's old team pictures and we'll get nicknamed the Adders or something.
