Rovers's January transfer needs

we need serious investment in january,all over the pitch,it`s plainly not going to happen,judging by previous windows

looking to me like the only teams worse than us are sheff wed,oxford and portsmouth,if we finish 4th bottom then val has done his job,you can`t do much else with a squad like ours

If we're playing 3-5-2 then we need at least one centre back and another striker.

 

Get rid of Kargbo since he doesn't have a role in that layout, and probably one of Pickering/Ribeiro. 

 

Obviously every position needs an upgrade but that's where we are short.

Haha, we went out of the cup in August, at the first hurdle. Montgomery was played out of position and had a nightmare, Michalski gifted them a goal and is 3rd choice anyway, and Tyjon huffed and puffed and hasn’t been seen since. Maybe we could consider Tavares as one of the U21s. He’s barely been seen since that game either.

I think we all know that £2m is a work of fiction. Maybe if we win the Premier League we might have to pay it.

That's what the Club claimed we spent on him to make them look good so they can't have it both ways and say "actually it wasn't £2m it was only a cheap punt" when he bombs.

Based on what we have seen, which isnt enough for me to say with any certainty, I dont think hes up to the level, by quite a bit. 

You dont count the cup games when defending Ismael's record so presumably they dont count here. Even if they do, graduates starting games is at best seldom happening and only in low priority games. Im not saying they should or shouldnt be playing, but Ismael has said that they purposefully didnt fill the full squad for that (stupid) reason.

My point was about the contradictory rubbish that the likes of Gestede and Ismael have come out with and keeping coming out with to try and defend the shambles of a summer.

With Carter and Wharton both out long term now, we definitely need a couple of new CB's at least, and a recall for O'Riordan on top of that to ensure we have enough cover for playing 3 CB's.

Not convinced by Kargbo but I think a quick forward in his style could work in this 352 up front. As you see with Ohashi alot of the forward play is about running the channels and combining with the wide players.

We are probably fine everywhere except of course defensively, I honestly don't know what we would do Miller or McLoughlin get injured or suspended. Same goes for Alebiosu. Can't think of the answer in the current squad for those places

If that happens, we will be chucking in Litherland/Atcheson at centre back or Houghton at right wing back (or moving Gardner-Hickman/Montgomery there)

By switching to a back 3, we've now shot ourselves in the foot with the summer business, quite spectacularly.

We need another centre back, although huge credit to Pratt for last night. Huge question marks over the long term fitness of Wharton and Carter, although Wharton did sign a new deal recently, so he's going no where.

We need a commanding centre mid, who can really impose himself on the game in the middle of the park. Tronstad was excellent last night and Montgomery played his part too but oddly, he drifted to the left hand side a lot. Not sure if that was tactical or just the player. Neither are the commanding midfielder we need though.

Wingbacks need a serious look, we've got 4 left wing backs, Hedges, De Neve, Riberio and Picks and only Alebiosu on the right. Crazily unbalanced. I suspect both Riberio and Pickering will be binned off in January.

Attacking midfield also presents a problem as we've now got Morishita, Henrikson and Cantwell vying for 1 place. The obvious candidate to depart would be Cantwell, based on his wages alone but he's captain and probably the better of the 3.

Kargbo now doesn't really have a role, likey used as a striker when back but not sure if he even is one or indeed anywhere near good enough. Jury is well and truly out on the lad.

After a crazy amount of recruitment in the summer, we now find ourselves needing a reasonable overhaul of players again across the next 2 windows.
