even if its not, there is nothing to stop deals being done and announced ahead of time

All the evidence points to us being pretty abysmal when it comes to January windows, so much so that it’s basically led to our last two managers leaving. Yet because Nicko has said we’re getting a bid in for a winger (a position which we don’t actually use) you think it’s all roses.

I do wonder if VI is using the media to push the board a bit. He’s aware that he is trying to compete with a bang average squad and knows he needs more quality. He’s playing a dangerous game trying to push this lot into actually signing someone decent. He’ll be out of the door by mid February.

Fraulo by all accounts isn’t a Eustace signing - he also hasn’t signed

as stated above he hasn’t signed or been made official 

will be an interesting one a lot of Derby fans stating it’s a club signing not a Eustace one - we’ve seen that before

Ricky, The past is the past. Nothing we can do about that. No-one has said everything is all roses. Reading things that aren't being said by myself

the biggest clue was last week when Ismael revealed he had spoken to the owners on the phone, Neither JDT and Eustace did that. I see that as a key difference between our situation now and then. 

Nicko has posted a story we have a bid rejected for Reyes Clearly who played for Barnsley and can play anywhere across the front line. He also said we want Ben Gibson.

So Nixon says 'substantial' six figure bid rejected for the Barnsley lad.

I know he's partly employed to put a shine on all things Rovers under the rotten regime but is there such thing as a a 'substantial' six figure bid in modern day Championship terms? 

The most it could possibly be is £999,999 which would not be a substantial sum for a Championship football club, especially not one used to selling players for 10x that amount every transfer window.

Ismael said he wants the deals done by the Hull game. He said maybe 1 will drag but most should be done early. Whether that happens and the quality of those deals if they do, we shall see. Maybe this phone call to the cretins is going to make a revolutionary difference and we will buy loads of quality. I doubt it though.

It's been rejected apparently so we're no further forward if that's true.

Nixon record is more than good enough. Who else cover Rovers with transfer stories? Without his stories this thread would be dead.

History tell you direct contact with owners helps you here. Bowyer and Mowbray had that. 

I am not contesting that we have bid for Cleary. I will assume that we did. But we havent signed him, the bid was not at an acceptable amount so it doesnt mean anything. Until if and when we sign him or indeed anyone, I am not convinced that we are all ready and well prepared. Similar guff comes out of the club before every window, we want to get players in early, players get linked etc. It doesnt mean anything.

I cant say that I have ever seen Cleary play so I dont know. Seems to have impressed at Barnsley for half a season which is all there is to go on. Young and fairly untested, but seemingly quick and likes to do something alien to the rest of our squad and run with the ball. But big question marks around his position as I have touched on. I couldnt possibly say if he would be good or bad, and until he actually signs its an irrelevance.

Neither Bowyer or Mowbray received continious backing by any means. We are also clearly desperate to cut the wage bill as much as we can.

Alan Nixon's ego would grow even bigger if he heard anyone say that this thread would be dead without his rumours.

Its a thread of opinions. What do people think we need, where we are short, which players we would sell etc. And as and when players are signed and let go, what people think. Its hardly reliant on Nixon gossip.

The Cleary rumour didnt even start with him.
