I don't know what it is but that was a much more likeable, relatable group than what we have now. 

For me Bennett and Evans were the polar opposite of likeable and by his own admission Graham didnt take the job very seriously at times and had slowed to a virtual standstill by the end. We could badly use a striker of his type near his prime now though.

The others I'd agree with, especially the brilliant Harrison Reed  who couldn't even get selected in front of Smallwood and Evans.

I agree that the current squad are very unlikeable. The only two I like are Scott Wharton and Alebiosu.

Gudjohnssen and Jorgensen I'm  neutral on until I've seen a bit more.

Ohashi and Moreshita seem nice guys but unfortunately just haven't been very good. I think of all the pelters Dolan used to get but he was far more consistent and effective week in week out than those two have been.

The CSL has regressed massively in the last few years. Their stadium is less than half full most games, granted its more than we have at Ewood but hardly surprising given the population of Shanghai is about 30 million 🤣 Biggest name in the league is probably an ageing Teixeira now.

Im quite surprised an Alebiosu, Cantwell or Tronstad hasn't left yet. Let alone someone who isn't being used like Pickering/Ribeiro/Pears

Nothing whatsoever surprises me anymore with this lot. I wouldn't be altogether surprised if they panicked and spent more than expected before the end of the window or we saw another last minute Hyam style departure without a suitable replacement despite our predicament.

I'm not sure where he's originally from (midlands?), but you're right that it's a factor.

I'm a northern boy and it would take a huge amount of persuasion (and money) to even make me consider moving down south, in this context.

If and I know we won't,  we sign Cleary then I don't think he would have to be registered this season due to his age.

Forgetting that deadline day is 2nd Feb or thinking it's midnight, signing a player with the same name, signing a woman, putting Blackburn Athletic on the form, paying in the wrong currency?! Anything goes at Rovers in the last week of a window..

I'm not that far from you in that, but he would be a considerable loss in terms of quality, and one I can see them being receptive to.

They knew the league, the club and weren't sold a dream byt certain mysterious figures. Everyone gave 100% and played for the badge. 

They weren't cheap overseas imports who need to adapt to both a new way of life but also club and league. This season we had 3/4 new overseas players all who will have to change their whole lives while playing in the toughest league in the world. Recipe for disaster.

He’s from Brum and was at West Brom until last year. I doubt location will be a major factor if he was prepared to move to Barnsley.

27, but I am including Garrett who is eligible to be registered but very likely won't be.

We will chase Cleary for a week and either won't meet the valuation, or someone will come in a pinch him last minute. We will end up with a Cauley Woodrow style loan just before the window shuts, if we can get rid of one of the left backs.
