Cantwell says the injury was caused by a hyperextension but Ismael has said the injury was caused by a kick. Normally a kick can be painful and might result in some bruising but the vagaries between the player and the managers explanation is quite alarming.

I prefer the more likely explanation---we owe Rangers a bonus payment if he plays more than 50 games for us.

Todd Cantwell has made his own statement on his own Instagram account. Personally this it was wise and sensible by TC and stop people keep speculating time after time.

It could be but that is speculation. What both Cantwell and the manager said is fact and they contradicted each other.

Time will tell but whichever way something doesn't feel right.

Two things can be true at once.

He could be injured and have an appearance based clause in his contract.

The latter could mean the club aren’t in a rush for him to return from the former.

I've seen enough in the last two games to hope he is off in January. Not fit to be captain of this club, or any club to be honest. His performances and attitude are nowhere near the standard I expect at Ewood Park.

He spends all week posting rubbish on social media. I wouldn't care if he was playing well, but he's been here ages and you can count on one hand the number of good performances. He's a waste of money, never a leader, petulant, and definitely not who you want in a relegation battle.

Maktar Gueye is a poor footballer, but Cantwell had some gall taking the mick out of him on Sky Sports the other week over his skill level. Haven't seen Cantwell do anything useful for this team for quite some time. People in glass houses, etc.
