They aren't bad they are being pushed towards the door for more cost cutting whilst De Neve is the number 1 back up option.

It's called downgrading.

It’s the (continued) muddled thinking that’s perhaps the most bonkers aspect with those ‘running’ the club. We only gave Ribeiro a new deal, what, 6 months ago? He’s now seemingly not part of our plans whatsoever. He hardly set the new season on fire, but one suspects it’s wage related.

We then give Cantwell the captaincy just prior to the first ball being kicked this season just a couple of months ago. Again, call me (and many others) ever suspicious, but he’s clearly being marked for the exit door.

Pointing out the obvious but they make things up on a whim dependent on how they feel on a particular day. Working under this lot must be utter torture for the average sane person.

Terrible game yesterday, especially in the first half when our passing seemed to go straight upwards, and we won none of the subsequent duels.

I dare to predict that these three matches will determine whether we stay in the division or not:

They are huge, huge fixtures and in reality, we need to be getting 9 points from those (but we're more likely to get 1)

Yep, we don’t agree on it, the messageboard is about opinions. As I said, I’m not excusing poor performances but to me the Ewood atmosphere plays a part and that is what the owners and stooges have created. I honestly don’t know how we begin to turn it around.

Probably by dropping the prices significantly

We start games so slowly and have done since Ismael came in.

First 5 minutes , opposition have a big chance, big save, corner, big chance.

It seems this happens every match. Even in the games we won. Hull, Leicester, Preston this happens.

Its got to be a mentality thing when they leave that changing room. You can get away with not forcing the tempo away from home but so impassive at Ewood gives us a mountain to climb to grow into games, coupled with rubbish players who cant pass 10 yards or win 2nd balls.

In what respect should we pull our weight a bit more?I

I think the answer is pretty much in the rest of your post but to apportion any blame towards the fans is feeding the narrative from the shysters who drove them away.

The turnouts or lack of them aren't helping anybody, come on 7-8k turning up it's pathetic.

Yes we know all the issues but this is dire now if we want the team to win we have to give it all the help we can because by god it needs it.

Back the team NOT the regime supporters are supposed to support other teams fans seem to manage it but here people are just staying away because we aren't winning. I'm talking about the 12k we usually get not the missing 10k from 2012. All that it will do is hasten the clubs demise because some of those in power are looking for any and every excuse to cut back even more.

These are league 1 crowds and the least we can do is try and fight that off instead of contributing to it.

Not meant to offend anyone but cold hard facts are sometimes harsh although non of this detracts from the poor efforts on the pitch at home which are inexcusable whether there is 5k or 25k there.

We're just too easy to play against at home. It's like we don't have a midfield, it's one simple pass and the opposition are running at our defence.

Defensively, it's like watching the team under JDT in his second season.

Eustace had us so well set up and hard to beat, but now it's like knife through butter.

Wasn't it £17 for adults bought online last night in the riverside ?

They really need to do something similar in the Blackburn End because they've killed it.

I disagree - 7k-8k fans turning up on a cold night to watch a club whose heart and soul has been dismantled over the past 12 years is really impressive. I'm surprised that many turned up.

Absolutely back the players, but the club is rotten and there would have been riots at other clubs if they were managed like this.

Nobody wants to sit there, proved that with the season ticket discount & them selling an extra 150 in the riverside

As iv'e said silent protests are pointless and just damage the club further there is nothing impressive about it and the victim mentality is nauseating now.

I've long called for a single match protest to drive the message home this is what will happen if you don't start running the place properly.

That never happens though it's just the slow demise that now provides excuses for manager and players as we are now seeing. And it provides more excuses for the cost cutters.

They long gave up and trying to build this club up it's so much easier to go through a period of managed decline and end up in a situation that is cheap to run and requires easy low funding.

That's where we are heading on all fronts and the only thing fans can do is either boycott properly to try and force a regime change or continue turning up in the usual numbers and try and help the team stay in this division.

That isn't happening now.

There’s absolutely no point in worrying about/analysing crowds during the season, as always, the dye was cast in the summer.

If you just about scrape 9k STs (not even convinced we’ve sold that many as no final figure has been forthcoming in the FF minutes) then unless you are at the top of the league and thousands upon thousands of walk ons are turning up (for weekend matches largely anyway) then we have what we have when we are in 18th, which is a two thirds empty ground most weeks (more at night).

If the club makes no effort in increasing the ST base and we are doing bugger all on the pitch, then this is us.

The irony of Ismael bemoaning the loss of Tronstad last night. The same guy who we're seemingly happy to just see go for free at the end of the season as he's (probably) close to, or above the ridiculous wage cap that we have.

Hickman/Montgomery is a sign of things to come in that department as we have clearly seen they cannot identify and sign a decent central midfielder if their lives depended on it.

I'd give this post a hundred likes if I could. Makes no sense. I'm sure they'll offer him the same terms on a one-year deal at the most...would love for him to stay on, been a really solid player for us.

What about Sweeney? At least there'd be a better supply of pies on the concourse.

Sydney?

We could do with a good pair up front.

£18.75 v Derby and about 18750 home fans turn up, live tv stupid early kick off, added appeal of trying to put one over former manager.

Weds night, no tv, on back of beating local gobshites and probably a seasons best performance, so called winnable game and thousands of tickets available at £17 on one stand, CHEAPER than the Derby game.

About 8.5k actually turn up.

Make it make sense please, somebody.

£18.75 to sit everywhere in the ground vs £17 in the worst facilities in the league

Our midweek home games since relegation in 2012 have been low and dwindling even since then. And the home form this season has done absolutely nothing to address that.

Everything that is wrong at Rovers leads back to the owners and their lackeys, not the fans whether they go or not.

Clearly your opinion about the missing fans differs from mine but I was really surprised to see your original post and your criticism of them.

It's rare I disagree with anything you post but in my view you are way off the mark here.

Floating fans and even a load of ST holders aren’t arsed about night games, red button has done them in. Same everywhere just amplified here due to having so few ST holders to start with in a big ground.

Its a non-issue to me as there’s nothing that can change it in November.

I think my points about it adding to the problems instead of fighting against them and playing into the hands of the excuse makes and cost cutters are very valid ones.

I know i'm not alone on that outside the confines of this board but yes we know the root cause and they are reaping what they've sown.

They'll never own up to it though it just provides more ammunition to blame the lack of crowds for further managed decline.

Yes all roads lead back to the poor unambitionless handling of season tickets.

An insult to the loyal Blackburn Rovers supporters, in their 150th anniversary year. They can't win in front of their home supporters, we must be  close to the worst home record in the Championship. Hang your heads in shame.
