MCMC1875 Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Emerton and Amoruso fit according to Teletext.
MCMC1875 Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Which pub does the best food during Sky matches? Can anyone beat the free sarnies being offered by Blues Bar?
RoverDrake Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 What is everyone's obsession with jay mckeveley??? especially trying him as centreback??? i've seen him play one great game against man utd when he marked beckham out the game. He has great promise but looks very weak and too play him as a CB he'd be kicked about all day. Because... Short is injured. Nissa is failing to shine when given the chance. Todd is still in limbo... And don't even get me started on Matteo.

MCMC1875 Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 0-2 Friedel keeps clean sheet, but fails to score.
MCMC1875 Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Which McClarky are you? Which, I didn't realise there was more than 1. Of course I realise who you are now MC. Hows it going mate? Fine and dandy!
roversWASmylife Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Charlton 2 - 1 Rovers Rovers to concede sloppy goals yet again.
American Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 1-0 Rovers, Gallagher in the 11th minute (I know because Football Manager told me!!!)
92er Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Charlton have not got off to a good start this season. Charlton to win.
McClarky Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Emerton and Amoruso fit according to Teletext. Personally I don't care if Amo is fit or not because I don't think he should play anyway. I know he's a soft target and everything but he really does make far too many blunders for a player at Premiership level and I reckon he's a liability. When he was at Rangers he used to make errors and get away with them but now he gets punished because the oppositions better. I also don't think he gets his head in enough when balls are coming across the box. Then again, who've we got to replace him? Still think we might sneak it tomorrow but I don't imagine it will be a classic.
American Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Had this discussion over and over. I agree that if you watch him Amo isn't the best player. But for some reason, maybe his fire and leadership, the defense does better with him in the lineup.
McClarky Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Mmmm. I can't see it myself. I for 1 close my eyes every time he goes near the ball. Hughes's main priority should be to bring in a leader at the back as soon as he can. The amount of times today I have heard about how Charlton are going to surge up the league with a win tomorrow. Hopefully their team will take it for granted as much as the media seems to be doing.

Amoruso does give us fight, leadership and spark at the back, we need a defender who can bring it out of defence and not just ones who lump it upfield everytime they get it.
S15 Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 All messageboards are full of grimmers then eh...
rebelzero Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 1-0 Rovers, Gallagher in the 11th minute (I know because Football Manager told me!!!) I was going to post the exact same thing, minus the Football Manager part. Rest of the match will be quite nervy.
AussieinUk Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 I predicted a loss against Pompey and we won, so the same logic will apply today.... Chartlon 2 - 1 Rovers (HOPE I AM WRONG! -> which is normally true when predicting)
Alan75 Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 Posted by philipl in wrong topic Rodney Marsh predicts a draw. He says one or two other things as well.
ackroyd75 Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 At the risk of being short!.........I agree with Rodney Marsh! He is still a w****r though!
Hughesy Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 Expect a big improvement so im going for 3-1 to us
Maverick Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 Let's hope for some improvement from the last game and that lady luck will be on our side for a change. We will win 1-0 on a penalty from Pedersen in the second half.
Jimbo Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 Re: the pubs for a beer - I know the London Branch are meeting up in the Rose of Denmark chosen because the Antigallican was a right @#/? hole - its not a favorite of mine tho' - bit too pokey - But I'm bringing along a lad from work who hasn't got a ticket so I'll be in the Antigallican for a beer - just so it's less distance to walk to the ticket office & back - I'll probably meet up with the Guys in the Rose of Denmark before then.
mjs Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 Mmmm. I can't see it myself. I for 1 close my eyes every time he goes near the ball. Then how do you know whether he is any good or not?
