  1. Can't see us winning this one realistically. West Brom wounded animal and especially if we have Rothwell wasted on the bench and Brereton wasted out wide. Play Nyambe and Rothwell, use Brereton properly and we might be able to get something.
  2. I absolutely love Mogga but i'm sorry, he cost us the game tonight. This Brereton out wide tactic is madness, how's he supposed to step up and fill Grahams shoes out wide? Dack hasn't the pace or physicality to play lone striker. The odd occassion it was played long to Brereton he looked dangerous. Can't understand it at all. Rothwell change was too late. I'll always give credit where it's due but TM has to take this one on the chin for me.
  3. Mowbray on Swansea: “They started with a back three against Villa, but generally they play 4-4-3." Cheating bastards.
  4. Just seen next game is at Leyland F.A. ground against Liverpool next Monday. Might pop down with the dog and have a look.
  5. No sign of this lad at all? Anyone heard anything?
  6. Probably because he know he wants to be here so doesn't trust him. Should be nailed on that one.
  7. Rest Richie and play Rothwell for me. I think that's the only change I'd make.
  8. Rovers will sign Bauer and Chapman and that will be it come January i think. Signing a player like Chapman could be exactly what we need as a little pick up of spirits and could be vital for impact sub appearances. Gutted to see we missed out on Celina... What a signing that would have been.
  9. Where are Leeds centre forwards? Decent in midfield but no focal point in attack. Saiz (great player) kept getting on the ball and there were no options. Was speaking to the Leeds fan sat with us and he mentioned Bamford was injured but for me he isn't a CF. You look like you need a Danny Graham, Chris Wood, Vokes type player.
  10. I think that's a dangerous thing to do. We are a good side but this is a tough long season in this league. Keep taking every game as it comes, the clubs that seem to get out of this league do exactly that.
  11. It was unreal, i couldn't believe he'd got there. Graham had his hands on his head in disbelief!
  12. Was sat with a Leeds fan today... When he heard Brereton was on the bench he said... "oh sh*t, that lad absolutely bossed us last year" Food for thought. Reserve judgement. He's trying to get into a decent and difficult to beat side. He's a teenager, he has LOTS to learn. Mowbray will work his magic. No doubt.
  13. Anyone else remember a long ball being played up to DG today that was going out of play... Until Harrison Reed tore past him and won us a corner!!?? Wow. Graham couldn't believe it! Just absolutely unreal that lad.
  14. Get in. What's the big deal about Leeds? Kin terrible. Besides Saiz they looked poor, no centre forwards, nowhere near Sheff UTD. Didn't deserve to be in the game. Their promotion credentials are highly questionable. First half we were good, second we weren't. Can't understand Brereton wide and not through middle. Rodwell decent again. Armstrong played well. Reed class. Evans, Bennet, Lennihan and Mulgrew all decent, not much quality but battled. We allow sides way too much possession. We need Rothwell to control the midfield and win the battle in there. Over the moon with that result.... TMBWA!!!!
  15. Could you do a favour pal and copy paste it here? Or someone else... I won't click on thair bastard website!
  16. Be a very difficult game this. Darragh needs to get his head right and not make stupid decisions. If we play like we did forst half at Stoke then we'll beat anyone. Joe Rothwell will be key, get him on the ball and he will run the show.
  17. Absolutely. Something I've been saying for years. I don't buy this hiding behind mediocrity because we don't spend more than other clubs... Burnley and Cardiff spent next to nothing and got promoted. I genuinely believe spending large amounts of money in this league counts for absolutely nothing. Look at Dack, Rothwell, Williams, Bell, Evans, Cairney, King, Duffy, Gestede... All of them cost well under a million and would get in most other championship sides. It's a lack of ambition that's killed us since we went down, specifically under Bowyer, who squandered a very good opportunity with the best 11 we've had down in this league. It's about good, strategic and well researched investment and if that squad is has the ability to be promoted, regardless of the transfer fee paid, then promotion should be the aim. That said, I'm happy to give TM the opportunity to get this group of player established in this league but then the expectation will be the same as it always was. There is a part of me that is thinking that this might be the best opportunity TM might get, regardless if it is our first season back... The league is wide open and Dack may be gone next season leaving us with a big void of goals to find.
  18. Can't believe the negativity around the lad already. Judge him when he's had a good run of starts in the first team. I don't think there are many of us that would disagree that we could have maybe spent the money a little more wisely but folk need to remember that he's a teenager who's still learning and finding his feet as a professional footballer. Allow him time to find his feet here. I've noticed it seems to be a common thing for Rovers fans to do is to write off a player as "shite" if they don't impress for a few games, I've seen and heard it done to Bell and Smallwood already this season. For the time being he's going to find it difficult to break into this team but I consider that a good thing because when he does finally get his chance then he will know that he has to play to the same standards and what is required of him. That said... He is not Danny Graham, he doesn't have the same experience, we have to play to his own strengths.
  19. I think we'll start to see Smallwood used more like this from now on. I've not really liked the stick he's taken this season but I can see why people grew frustrated, he's a limited player but his ability to tackle and press will be valuable as a squad player when we're trying to see games out. Going forward, we have players with more ability that will fit Mowbray's vision of playing possession football.
  20. A bit glass half empty maybe? You get no extra points for playing well, although it is better to watch. I think not knowing his best 11 could, in some way, be a positive thing at times because it keeps people competitive and perhaps, due to the amount of options we have. It's going to be difficult for TM to pick his best 11 but it would be good to know what the spine of the team is going to be consistently. The only 100% starters at the moment seem to be Raya, Mulgrew, Lennihan, Nyambe, Dack, Graham... Leaving the rest to fight it out. So looking at it i'd suggest it's more accurate to say that he doesn't know what his best midfield is, considering that is where most games are won and lost it's something he needs to work out soon if we want to be more consistent. I'd be building that midfield around Joe Rothwell, he's definately the one that could fill that void of ball playing class that we've lacked since Cairney left.
  21. I think we flattered Bolton in the 2nd half, their fans will be walking away from that thinking they're not that bad, when in fact we made them look a lot better than what they actually are... A poor side who have everything against a better side who performed poorly but still lost. I'm not too concerned about how we performed 2nd half because I've seen us play better when in front and and walk away winless. Sometimes you just have to grind it out. We will play better and win this season but I think that will only start to happen when TM knows what his best 11 is... One thing is for sure, it will be an 11 with Joe Rothwell in it, that lad is absolutely class, love watching him play. We should easily finish mid table, Bolton are relegation material, what do you expect with Jason Lowe in centre mid? He was absolutely chit by the way, first time I've ever enjoyed watching him try and pass the ball.
  22. What were they watching? That drag back turn yesterday was class, he won everything, hardly gave it away, looked physically imposing with great technique. For someone who's 6.3" he has great feet. Unlucky at one point where he flicked it over someone's head but ran out play. I was really impressed, looked loads better than I thought he would at this point. When we signed him Sunderland fans were saying how long it was since he won a league game of football, out of interest, does anyone know exactly? Edit: he won his first league game with Sunderland in Feb 2017, not sure he won again since, before that it was over 3 years without a league win.
  23. If Tony is a fair man then he should be looking at that performance and make the appropriate changes. Joe Rothwell deserves to start for a kick off and I'd be tempted to play Palmer instead of Armstrong who i'd either play through the middle or bring on for Graham.
